Anyone have any super minty genetics?

Had Matanuska Mint in the vault for quite sometime. Gifted a few to a buddy who popped a few, a few years ago. Minty, for sure. I didn't get enough of the flowers to give a decent report but buddy said they were very minty.
If you're shooting for mint, I'd recommend them, though I'm not sure of the availability and age of current stock. Mine were 7(ish) years ago. Hope for the mint pheno....

minty taste can be attributed to bud that was harvested too early and cured improperly..

Minty taste can also be attributed to three or four different terpenes, with scientific evidence.
I have never had bud that smelled like mint from bad harvesting. When people fuck up the cure, it's either the grass/hay smell, ammonia, mold, or a combination.
People are probably just getting badly cured Central & South American landrace genetics in their bags, which can be notoriously minty.

in my younger days i bought these 25$/quarters from a friend of a friend which the buds were harvested probably 3 weeks into budding. long thin sativa dark green leaves and a small cluster of calyxes with white hairs in the middle. thats where i first tasted mj with a minty taste. was an ok high but not that great considering we had stuff like cat piss and glue

Thanks for that larry badiner...there could be something to it. Terpenes basically degenerate into terpenoids, or some turn quickly into non-effectual compounds. There could be something to the menthol terpenoids and badly cured bud. You're actually the second or third in this thread that has mentioned it.

Right? I visit this subforum 3-5 times a week. Been solid for a couple years and often still have no idea what strain people are typing about. Given its always some idiot arguing about which GSC cut cross is the best.
if you search there are at least 1 or more strain list threads on this site. just search for strain and list.
