Anyone ever experienced a panic attack as a result of cannabis use?

Thanks to everybody for the help. I'll respond individually when I get a sec, stuck at home with this ice storm but still have more work to do than if I was at the office, unfortunately.

I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who has experienced this, also glad to know what happened to me so that now I can combat it if it happens again. :tiphat: really appreciate the posts guys

in the early '90s I was getting some of my weed from a friend that preferred a sativa buzz, I've always enjoyed indicas myself. anyways, if I toked a bit too much I found myself unwilling to leave the house to go shopping or anywhere else except the one local bar where they kept their lights low.

now this isn't really panic or even paranoia at all, truth is the sativa made me look stoned times 10, not even a keg of Visine could help my eyes.......

I am quite anxious and use herb to keep stress away. I always found most herb helped my stress, however I am sure it is highly strain dependent.

Heavy hitting, sedating Indicas are best for stopping panic attacks in my experiences. For maintaining a stress free life I like happy daytime hybrids that keep you functioning well also regulating anxiety.

I always wonder if today's busy, fast paced, stressful world is the reason for the lack of Sativas. Indicas are suited so well to mellow out and forget, something that is very useful in 2015.

That said I still love a good Haze or Thai. Sativa is like party weed to me, but Indicas soothe my stress! Sativas can make good meds for some conditions as well, just probably not panic attacks.

Something I have read about lately is THCV. THCV appears to block panic attacks, and may be useful in stopping the "terror" type feeling of high THC strains.

THCV could also stop the appetite stimulating effect of THC, which maybe be good or bad depending on how you use THC.

Also, interestingly enough, THCV is said to be found in South Africans such as Durban, as well as a small number of American hybrids. So it makes me wonder if the anxiety inducing Durbans spoke of in this thread where devoid of THCV? Western cuttings of Durban are probably high THC phenotypes?

Anyone with any THCV info please post it, it may help all us stress cases out here!

I used to smoke waaay too much hash oil and occasionally it would bring out all my insecurities ALL AT ONCE! To the point I COULD NOT STOP THE MADNESS IN MY HEAD no matter what I did. Like trying to drink it away with booze.

That scenario sucked and it usually took quite some time for me to 'come out of it'. Sometimes sleep would be the only cure.

Next time just crush it with your mind vice.

My sensi star edibles make noobs jump out of their skin.
I tell them only eat a little and wait a while, but no, eat the whole
thing and freak out for a couple hours until they settle in.

Don't even get me started on the zamaldelica bubble hash...

Get the blood pressure thing sorted out and get some low
pressure cannabis to ease back into it.

Lay off the hybrids for a while, lol.

I had the first (and hopefully last) panic attack in my life last night.

Let me set this up for you --

I wasn't doing anything stressful, sitting on the couch with the girlfriend watching a movie or maybe playing a video game, can't recall exactly. I had just rolled and taken about 5 puffs off of a joint filled with a strain that a friend in CO sent over, a cross of Arcata Trainwreck and the old school Durban Poison.

I sat the joint down and was talking to my girlfriend when I suddenly stopped and realized I had a tight feeling in my chest and felt like someone was sitting on my shoulders.
dat should be some good potent shit hahah

This has happened to me with old school Durban and with grossly overdosed edibles. The Durban can really wig me out sometimes.

this happened to me once but there were a few other factors...spent the day doing heavy lifting in 100° weather on no sleep and little water. rolled up a spliff and 20 min later i was having a full blown panicked delusion running through the woods. moral of the story sleep and water are good things

G`day Folks

The THC-V hastens the onset of the herb .

Breathing is the key to relaxation . Meditative techniques nearly always have a controlled breathing aspect . Slow the breathing -> slows the heart .

I have had some freaky experiences smoking Sativas as a youngster before hydro took over the market here in Oz .Usually a break of at least a week then score the good shit . And in more recent times with Nevil`s Hz .

A feeling of impending doom and a spiral of anxiety and depression . But after a day or two it was regular programming again .

My friends who have the orig cut of Nevil`s Hz told me to treat it like a psychadelic . Don`t have too much and don`t think dark thoughts while on it . Good advice .

Thanks for sharin

EB .

Last week I gave him 4 of my GingerSnaps...
I told him 1 is good and 2 will do ya.

He called me on Saturday and told me that he ate one and then another about an hour later.

He said he got up bouncing off the walls and had to go to work.

He says next time...... He'll take them when he doesn't have to work the next day.

Now he wants some more cookies....
