Posting can get you busted in the right (or wrong) circumstances. Not that I think this should in any way have been legal, welcome to the new america.

BEAVERTON, Ore. – Beaverton police officers confiscated marijuana and other drugs from several people heading to an outdoor concert near North Plains. Officers conducted the three-day drug operation along Hwy 26 this week.

Investigators had seen on blogs and social media that lots of people were planning to use drugs at an outdoor concert being held this weekend in the Horning’s Hideout area, according to Beaverton Police Sgt. James Shumway.

“It’s clear that there is anticipation of a lot of drugs being available,” he said.

To stop the drugs from reaching the concert, officers set up along Highway 26 on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. They pulled over more than four dozen vehicles and found drugs in several, Shumway said.

Shumway said they weren’t targeting any person specifically, but rather pulled people over for traffic violations. He said if officers then had reasonable suspicious there were drugs in the car they conducted a search.

Investigators seized about three pounds of marijuana, found candy they think is laced with pot and arrested three people.

One of the people arrested, 32-year-old David Edwin Welles, is the drummer of one of the bands scheduled to play at the concert.

Last year a Cedar Mill woman was hit and killed by a man who had left a concert at this same venue. Cory Jensen had left a festival and was high on LSD when he struck and killed Cynthia Rabe.

Jensen is now serving a ten year prison sentence.

Shumway said Rabe’s death last year was a big motivating factor in getting out and stopping drugs from reaching this concert.

“It’s a ton of drugs,” he said. “Something has to be done.”

What about posting pics of your grow and buds and stuff from like say....Barnes & Noble....would that be a safe way to do it? I guess the TOR thing is good also...but how would they find you if you were running through someone else's IP...like a coffee shop of something?

I would really like to post pics and info on my grow...but I am nervous about my safety as I am not in a med state. And because I work with others...I cannot put them at risk because I want to post pics on the internet. That would be stupid imho.

Well for one most of the growers on these forums grow for personal use, you need to keep in mind it costs lots of man hrs and money to do online busting, and with all the cut backs there just plain isn't enough money to start up some online busting team.
Flir is illegal to use , police getting a search warrant is getting harder remember one thing a Judge decides on a warrant so the cops need to have evidence beyond a resonable doubt.
and mostly certainly cops are not looking for the small time grower even the 80+ plant growers are nothing compared to these growers that unload 100's of kilos if not more weekly this is organized crime so corrupted that the police probably work for them just look at mexico ???? 50 tons a week enter usa organizations that spend billions into grow op's
Here do the Math http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/drugs/special/math.html
Now any grower should be cautious meaning less people knowing that your growing the better Right ????? keep common sense when posting ,
only way your going to get busted is giving out your mailing address to some member YES there could very well be under covers on this site befriending you asking you to send seeds more or less setting you up
bottom line TRUST KNOW ONE

doubtful any small grower will be busted because of post or pics, however,if you got raided and they checked your pc then you bet your ass if you try to defend yourself they will use your post against you. So if your defense is "i was only growing for personal use" then they read post saying "i sold my buddy 4 oz's today" your screwed. Or "i never had more than a few" then they see your post "look at these 25"

Also i used to be really into hacking satellite tv. It was huge and we had many forums. They always claimed the server was offshore but the site owner would get busted and turn over all info. They used isp's crossed with email address and pm's to sue the shit out of individuals. And yes many were criminal too. (decodernews, piratesden, hackhu to name a few). They had numerous moderators snitching on each other and planted moles on the forums but it was mostly not athorities but instead the satellite providers although some were definately involving the feds and the rcmp. Hackhu . com still goes straight to directtv signal integrity

"Flir is illegal to use , police getting a search warrant is getting harder remember one thing a Judge decides on a warrant so the cops need to have evidence beyond a resonable doubt."

Just so you know the criteria for getting a search warrant is not evidence beyond a reasonable doubt... that is the criteria for a conviction.
"most searches by the police require a search warrant based on probable cause, although there are exceptions. Any police entry of an individual's home always requires a warrant (for either search or arrest), absent exigent circumstances, or the free and voluntary consent of a person with reasonably apparent use of or control over the property.
Under the Fourth Amendment, searches must be reasonable and specific. This means that a search warrant must be specific as to the specified object to be searched for and the place to be searched. Other items, rooms, outbuildings, persons, vehicles, etc. may require additional search warrants.
To obtain a search warrant, an officer must first prove that probable cause exists before a magistrate or judge, based upon direct information (i.e. obtained by the officer's personal observation) or hearsay information. Hearsay information can even be obtained by oral testimony given over a telephone, or through an anonymous or confidential informant, so long as probable cause exists based on the totality of the circumstances. Both property and persons can be seized under a search warrant. The standard for a search warrant is lower than the quantum of proof required for a later conviction. The rationale is that the evidence that can be collected without a search warrant may not be sufficient to convict, but may be sufficient to suggest that enough evidence to convict could be found using the warrant."
Also FLIR is only illegal with no warrant...

In my experience, for a questionable ethical officer it takes as little as a somewhat high power bill.

They claim they have a tip or were in the area and smelled potent fresh marijuana, etc. Some initiator (and if they're looking at you they probably did get a tip). Then they get an administrative subpoena for your power, lower threshold to meet than a warrant. If the power bill looks high to them they'll do trash pulls - and if questionably ethical stems will show up in it even if you didn't put them there.

Then they go back to the judge and say we had a tip (or whatever), high power bill double (or whatever) of other houses in the neighborhood (the power company gives them comparables), we found stems in the trash, and maybe some additional BS like they keep their shades down that's a sign of a grow house.

They get their warrant and maybe had nothing more than some lead onto you and a moderately high power bill.

In my neighborhood it's a lot of older folks and most everyone has gas forced air heat so electric bills are low on average, 1kw with average use from living there could make you look like double if the comparables were mostly on the low side. At 3500w total of lights I was 6x the average (over $350 in sept & oct). This is a 2000 sq ft (including the finished basement).

oh, PT....that place is a shit show. Back in the day, PT was great for all sorts of things...you know, "I just flew into blah blah blah and need a little help, need my meds" and boom, someone there could help you out. Nowadays PT is full of the new crop of kids and while they get it, they really don't "get it." I feel like and old man over there these days.
