i love the FFOF as well... it costs 20 here also... except they do 3 for 50, which works for me... but 10$ would absolutely be better:joint:

Since they have listed all the ingredents, I will be recycling my soil (like 3lb) and it will cost just for the admendments. About 100.00 for them and thats it. I think I have something like 300 gallons or so of soil.

Just read the post and start to build your own. It's such a waste of money on soil just to throw away.

I used to think $20 PLUS a bag was like Cocaine - "God's way of saying you had too much money" That was until I tried it once. (And invested in a quality PH meter)

The difference in plant size and growth rate more than make up for the cost. It's like a tv comercial for miracle grow, without the miracle grow. I also use Grow Big, Big Bloom, and Tiger Bloom (TB will cook your garden at recamended dose if you do not adjust PH) and supliment with bat guano, fish juice and alfalpha squeezins - and epsom salts - - and I'm still trying to find dolomite lime, but the garden grows well.

Beware - I have had several outbreaks of spider mites and the only place they can come from is the soil; I've started baking just the soil at 190 deg F for 12+ hrs - this should kll the bugs and not bake the soil. - Then I mix 60/40 with pearlite and GO.

Would you rather live in Humbolt and pay 8 dollars a bag for ocean forest and 30 someting cents a KW hour for your power?I'll pay 20 and save on the lectric lol.You know I've heard people say the only way they could have got spider mites was through ocean forest, but how do the mites or their eggs survive without any green foliage to suck the water out of?I'd look elsewhere for your source of spidermites

thats the going rate for beasters as well in these parts. (3grams for $50)

these hydrostores are milking us just like big oil. At least our lucky sisters and brothers in North California get great rates on this great soil. I am so pleased with the results so far, I am going to stick with it for a while, and also I do not dilute it with anything but maybe some organic promix and I'm very happy with the results and roots running out the bottom of the pot.

The organic brand promix is really good too but I haven't seen any bales of it on sale? Ok, nam-myoho-renge-kyo lets make the determination to grow the best plants we can with this expensive soil and spread world peace!

Hello all,

I have been using FFOF since last March and I have had the best harvests with it.

On the other hand I have gotten better at growing.

I used to use Kellogg's Patio Plus- 100% organic pre mixed fert from HD at about $5.50. Was using Alaska Fish and EJ Bloom. I was grownig pot on the edge of thier healthy grwoth- never quite on top of the problems.

I used to use the following:

50% Kelloggs
30% perlite
20% peat

Edit: 2 tbsn D.lime

and use liquid ferts all the time- always burning the plants.

Now, since FFOF, I use the following:

50% FFOF
30% perlite
20% ewc/organic compost
Edit: 1 tbsn D.lime

I use ewc/guano teas with kelp.

I am now growing the best dope I ever have.

I get my FFOF for about 9 buxs a bag so its not an economic issue to use it- but I would rather not have to go to the hydro store to buy it.

Good luck.

PS: electric is 0.0884 / KWH here.

PSS: 3LB are three women that live together and I believe they are in the Humboldt nation.

I'm not quick to blame - but guano teas are steeped for 4 to 6 days - that will drown any eggs/larva in there,,, sure isn't coming from pearlite - fish or alphafa juice - or the epsom salts - it's the dam soil. - and it's much worse in the hot months - I'll be watching - the 190 degree bake is suppose to fix the bastards in the soil. No pest strips work really well if you start to see piles of trics on your leaves.

Being a purist - I will remove NPS from the flower room a few days prior to any harvest; as I understand it the active ingredient dissapaites in 3 days - less in higher humidity, and it takes longer than 3 days to dry,,, soooooo it SHOULD be safe. If some is good, more is better - pull the strips a week before cutting. I just put the strips in a heavy zip-loc for the time.

I have always focused on quality as do my friends - and I have the best buds around. I find the top 5% of the plants in a couple packs of seeds will be noticably better. And I also find the most potent plants are never good producers as far a quanitity. No complaints - just observations.
