Didn't mean to offend anyone.

I am just old school when it comes to this. The only new shit I like is from LWRC.

As far as I am concerned the LWRC REPR is the best rifle money can buy.

The 5.7 is cool, don't get me wrong. However, it is not very high on my priority list.

What are your thoughts on the 1911 commander? Does the decreased barrel length make much of a difference when fired?

I'm always kicking around the idea of getting a gun(s)..

I don't hunt so the only thing I need a gun for is self-defense and the apocalypse aka STHTF.

Really either case if I ever have need for it I likely will also have need for a suppressor and low velocity rounds. Imagine being able to hunt without worrying about alerting bandits etc of your presence in the area...

Maybe a Kel-Tec PMR-30 with the .22lr conversion... looks fun.. basically an updated Grendel p30... holds 30 rounds of .22mag

Okay so I would need a lil .22lr rifle for hunting in apocalypse situation. Suppressor needs to fit both..

Also need a lil .22lr tiny revolver just to have something that will never fail.

Key thing is to have only one type of ammo. Can stockpile a shit ton of .22lr. Can carry a shit ton in case you gotta go on a recon trip for supplies/tools/canned food. Its also a plentiful round to resupply. I was thinking of going .22mag for the extra oomph to be able to take down deer but they don't make a low velocity version and its not so commonly used anyways.

And dude was right about a machete. Gunna have to spear a few heads up around your fertile territory to keep strangers from settling there. With the machete you can make a sharp pole and cut the heads off. One tool for multiple jobs. That's the key.

my shit hits the fan gun is my newest, a Taurus model 941 in .22 magnum & matte stainless steel finish. an 8 shot revolver VERY accurate out to 50 yards. Federal, CCI & Remington ammo available in 30, 40 & 50 grain and about $10 per box of 50, not cheap & not spendy either. I haven't found any 500 or 1000 round boxes @ discount yet but am always looking.

the 30 grain hollow point (varmint round) travels @ 2200 fps, great for small game, the 50 grain jacketed hollow pt @ appx 1650 fps, certainly enough to take down a deer.

revolvers have less frequency of breakdowns, you can always rely on a wheelgun.

I have only owned one commander length, and it would FTF on me every once and awhile.

I have always heard that the shorter length 1911s have issues, unless you buy one of the high dollar Ed Browns or Nighthawks.

I just stick with the old 5" govt. length. Springfields are some of my favorites. Specifically a GI with some Heinie Straight 8s.

I picked up one of those Sig Swats a year ago, a .223 on a AK style action made sexy by sig. Has good hk style sights and attachment rails all over the thing. And the folding stock is cool however it seems like it would break easily.
Maybe my fave is my HK91. A real HK, they go for about 2,000 on gunbroker. Amazing trigger pull, 20rd mags like 3 bucks, 75rders too, plenty of parts, and very high accuracy for an assault rifle.. supposedly up there with match m14s. My fav thing about the gun is the mp5 style action, u just slap it down its badass. Fucker ruins brass and throws them like 30 feet.

I've got my eye on the SCAR or an ultra compact 1911 for my next toy.. damn and i need a HK Mk23 after breaking bad

Damn i wish cali wasn't so gay and I could have my guns with me.

i want an m14....anytime someone mentions m14 i start to drool....ill prolly customize one soon......might have to sell my colt gold cup .45 to do it but it would be soooooooooooooo worth it

Springfield is prolly ur best bet. They have a short one that's sold in CA. I just love the .308 round. before the war really caught on ammo was cheap as fuck and you could shoot down large trees relatively cheap.
