any kiss users have exp. with veg+bloom

I recently switched to Veg and Bloom dirty in coco and life (mid grow, so I can't give much of a report of the quality as a comparison to Dyna Gro Bloom, which is what I was using)....plants seem happy with it so far. I'm mixing to 1.2 EC which is what I usually feed at in coco. I'll eventually add a little Size to it once I get comfortable with the base and the plus Life.

I mixed one 30 gallon batch with just .2EC tap water and now one that was about 50/50 tap/AC runoff which is essentially RO water.

One thing I'm noticing is that I need to use ph down daily before I feed. It constantly creeps back up to 6.2 or 6.3 from the 5.8 I had lowered it to the day before.

But like I said, the plants seem happy.

Thanks for everyones imput soo far. I use promix cuz I recently had surgeries and I go out of town for work on 4 day trips . The promix allows me to not have to water/feed everyday... so instead of changing grow media id rather switch nutes. If I could somehow not water coco for 3 to 4 days I would have been sold along time ago. Lastly.. my bad rives I got it now. Its the 1 tsp not equaling 1.7 ec thats the problem. The 1 tsp is only equaling 500 ppm or 1 ec. Still need help as I have 12 new clones comming n 2 weeks.
Thanks everyone.

Check out the Blumat thread. They are kind of a chore to set up, but I use coco (Botanicare Readygro Aeration Mix), Blumats, and V+B RO formula. I am normally gone for 10+ day stretches at a time and the Blumats keep a virtually constant moisture level the whole time. The combination works like a dream.

I think that Caravaggio was having the same problem with Dirty giving a low EC. With my water, 5.5 grams of RO formula makes an EC of 1.6.

I just switched to the back to old gatorade veg bloom I had laying around. I feed 1 tsp at 5.9 ph ... eo well c how it goes. What ro u use ec wise on your baby clones rives..1.2ec and work your way up? Feed every watering? I also would consider switching if their is an easy go to formula for coco using veg bloom ro. I have some jungle juice micro and bloom laying around so I might try th 6/9 feed . Would I need cal mag with the 6/9 ratio from one to finish? Sorry for all the questions ive been growing for over 4 yrs and I can read my plants so im not a newb..my ocd makes me want to get this right with veg bloom dirty since I have a 5 lber.

I use 1.2 EC for clones after transplanting them into their final container, through the end of the vegging stage, and then work up during flowering. I go straight from beer cups to 5-liter airpots, and the blumats keep the media moisture level constant so that there is no worry about them being too moist while the root structure is small.

I usually top out around 1.6 EC, but have had some exceptionally hungry girls that went higher. With Blumats, they get fed continuously. I can't help you with the 6/9, I used it years ago and don't remember much about it. The only things that I use with the V+B is Drip Clean and SM90, and occasionally some epsom if the plants say they need it.

You should try the vitamin/hormone booster from MBferts Rives . my plants have been so healthy & vigarous in veg & the transition to flower that i haven't needed to add any type of cal or mag supplements lately !!

Ok well we are DONE with Veg+Bloom. Especially the Dirty. This thread gave us the desire to at least give it another shot. All plant by week 5-6 are all starting to flop over quite a bit and show major signs of deficiency.

Our feed was 1.2ec to start and by week 5-6 we were at 2.0ec, as recommended on the phone by Chris the owner. We also did a mid cycle flush and also used Drip Clean at .4ml to ensure no lockout. As we do in all of our rooms.

I think the old Veg + BLoom was pretty good, not as good as Maxibloom or even Foliage Pro but pretty good. This new Dirty version is a dog with fleas. Not to mention all of the residue it leaves in the bottom of your reservoir. It also killed 2 pumps. Extremely chalky stuff.

No more Veg + Bloom for us. At least it does NOT cut it commercially.

Thanks, I'll check it out. I should clarify that I've never found a problem with not enough Ca, but some strains that I run don't like it when the Mg drops below about 60ppm. It's not an issue at flowering strengths, but during the veg cycle it sometimes needs a bit added (1.3 grams/gln of epsom).

My hat's off to you for trying it again. Sorry it didn't work for you, but I think that Dan's experience has shown that it simply doesn't work well with some water. I've never tried the Dirty, and see no need to - the RO works great for me.

any of you guys foliar feed?

really fills in the gaps nice. so far that best stuff i have come across to spray on my plants is dyna-gro foliage pro at 2.5ml to 5ml per gallon plus a little bit of dyna-gro pro-tekt at around 2.5ml to 5ml per gallon.

i try keep it around 0.5EC. i add azamax to this in veg sometimes if anything gets caught in the sticky traps.

when using tap and dirty formula with tap water i use a fine mesh strainer and slowly add 1/4th at a time to final volume res, so far so good.

i used VB Dirty, tap water, on some seedlings,in pro mix. im happy with what i got .all the seedling ,were tight nugs, nice taste ,good yeld. O there was a few clones in ther also, nice smell& taste .so ill try it again.

Any of you guys use +size for foliar spray with VB? What about ful-power as a foliar spray? How many times a week you spray and how much of the product are you using? Any information would be great! About to start using HR products in a week or two!

Thanks!!

+size is a bloom booster, i would be hesitant to spray anything after the 3rd week of flower and the 3rd week of flower is when your suppose to start using +size

maybe hydroponic research should to come out with its own foliage fert

thats the problem i had with it . PH would raise back up to 6.4 or so by the next day . which is ok if ya hand feed & mix right before you feed , but i'm on rez's & pumps ..... the dirty always left a pile of shit in the bottom too , not sure what it was or if it did any harm ..... didn't use it very long lol
i do use the RO formula with RO water & mt PH is steady for at least 3 days .

Ok ill just come out and say it str8. Ive been doin veg bloom for over 2 yrs and ive pulledd some stuff off but by no means was it hitting the weight it should be. Even with them chem d. This nute company is from my home town so I gave them 20 chances. But I am now DONE. Chris knows the words you want to hear so he says it.. but his nutes dont back up his words. Everyone has been told something diff. and the fact that the company isnt willing to admit it changes feed rates every call and every new website update shows that its a new company making changes ( a rollercoaster ride I dont want to be on if I have to keep my hands inside at all times). I have never flamed anyone on the comp. ever but when products dont produce as told ..1 part is now 4 parts and unstable ph with nutrients not equaling the correct ec . 500 ppm = 1 ec... thanks again rives...I have to say something about it. So as I said im done ..im changing to coco with h3ad formula of 6/9 and 1/4 tsp epsom salt if a mag prob. occurs on ogs and chems. Ill add silica and liquid karma..and maybe some bud candy and hydroplex weeks 456 on a 10er. Neways live n learn right.

IC Buds:

Is that Hydro Research's new media that you're using? After spotting it on their facebook page (but nowhere on their website or on here....), I asked them a question about it ( I have some dirty, some +LIfe, and +Size to play with in Coco, and I asked them if this new media was "like coco" and what it would be like to ship....)

I just got a response from Chris....

Hi Simple Green-

It's not similar to coco at all. It is a rockwool-poly mix and comes with a soak to prepare it for transplanting. It will deliver nutrients much more efficiently then coco and allow you to feed heavier. I will have a product info sheet on our website by this weekend. It is light weight but bulky however we can compress it down pretty well. 2 cu' 39.95 3 cu' 54.95. Can be re-used by mixing with 50% new material and resoaking.

Best,
Chris

This sounds cool to me. And I agree that in my experience, feeding in coco as high as some of you hydro people doesn't seem to do well for me. I tend to keep coco from 1.2-1.4EC (maybe 1.5 if giving a quick p k boost) and have problems above that.

Here's what I saw on their facebook page....

It looks like they're close to having some auto-watering system close to production as well....

yesir it has proven to be more cost effective then grodan and outgrew chunks and cubes solo. 24k HPS rooms are running $500 in fwok and my people found it easier to water correctly as it holds more oxygen and moisture simultaneously.
