I have the pots already Fuzzy, they are in the next room along with the soil, I was probably just going to start tying the tops down, so a few bends here and there would probably be about the extent of it. I would love to try a scrog, but with the space limitations I have right now, and not knowing which are going to be female, I don't want to start tying them down and then have to take everything apart to get rid of the males.

I expect I will transplant them this weekend sometime, I think I should have bypassed this size pot all together as they seem to outgrow this one in about a week.

The stems do seem quite thick, i think they are thicker than the last group I brought to flower already.

Yea thats how I feel at the beginning of flowering... I know they need more room as their bottom is dying, I know they are rootbound but I am just to lazy to transplant them all when statistically speaking only 50% will be females.

I did it anyways though after I got over it and I am glad I did I got 4/4 females.

Well I got my butt around to getting my (extra) soil back to room temperature, so that I can transplant soon. May get at it tonight but being on the evening shift this week makes things harder to get motivated for when you get home and it is pitch black outside.

I subscribe to the lazy growing thread by GMT, if you have not checked it out, do so. I love the don't give a F attitude towards growing. I decided to follow his ideas and just lop the top off one of my plants. There is new growth already and it has only been a few hours

pic quality is green, unsure why, but you can make out the new growth

The plywood floor in here is actually being supported by a rubermaid tote so I still has another 18 inches of vertical clearance in here.

I think the plants are doing really well, as I can see no issues with nute lock out or insects. But living in Canada in November, insects are not really an issue. I think they are looking nice and green, with lots of new growth and healthy looking leaves. Still waiting on some preflowers, starting to see something, but they are way too small, even for the magnifying glass, or maybe it is my eyes
But anyways welcome to the jungle

will post some new pics next week

hello dr dog :chin:
ummm welll am i missing something here or what, because i'm confused to beat all hell.....you said this in your opening post.

"Well, After my power nightmare at the beginning of the month that had chopping down the crop 3 to 4 weeks early, I decided to get another batch growing.. I got quite a few seeds from a previous grow that were all hermies, but due to my complete lack of knowledge, I et them grow until they seeded."

are you growing those hermie seeds out or am i reading this the wrong way.....if you are your going to be real pissed as soon as the start to sex, if they were hermie seeds then ALL those plants are going to be hermies and not worth shit....
confused i am :chin: :chin:

Hey Jaws thanks for stopping by
I am not too sure if they were actually Hermi's as at the time I had 4 people staying in my house and tending to the plants kinda got put on the backburner. I just remember going in one day and saying hey! these are weird looking buds. I did not realize until they started flowering that they were males. I am only going by what a buddy told me, that gave me those seeds, he did not see them either. So I have my fingers crossed. that they were just straight up males as the females that actually came out it were female just bearing a shitload of seeds.

Cross your fingers for me, they are starting to show something, what at this point I have no idea but I should get a better idea after the weekend.

Well I am expecting to switch lights this week sometime. They are plenty big right now, and with space being an issue this grow, I need to stop their vertical soon. I think I might give a shot at a scrog, it would only take a small mesh as there is only 7 plants. I was going to sex them b4 I switched the lights, but they are taking their sweet time showing me anything other than new shoots, so I will weed out the males as I see them, hopefully it does not end up being the whole 7, that would suck.

I just transplanted the last one into it's bigger pot, 3 gallon poly pots, with a promix that Wal mart sells. I dont have ph issues with my water or soil here, so anything else is kinda buy it as I need it type thing. I always let my water sit out for 24 to 28 hours to hopefully base out any ph. Two days after I transplanted a few of them, I could already see the roots coming out the bottom drain holes in the pots so they are apparently liking what I am giving them.

Most of the stalks are sharpie pen sized, and the plants are about 15 inches above the pots.
Enough of the babbling, here is what I got so far.

I tried a FIM here, it is starting to grow out, I am interested in what happens with this one.

Hey thanks for dropping by guys.
Jaws: Well make that 6 possible females, the one I FIM'd I noticed some males sex organs, kind of dissapointing as I wanted to see what would happen with it.

Abbie : Yeah they are growing nicely, I am very happy with the veg so far, almost a bit out of control, I topped two more last night as they were growing large and well above the others.
Fuzzy: I am always looking for a few jars full lol. I am going to give them another week of veg or so, hopefully the rest will be showing their private parts by that point, then the light goes dark for 12 hours a day.

OK
Well the family is a bit smaller now as 4 turned out to be males, so that leaves me with three females. I think I am just going to grow the shit out of them and see what I can get from them.
I will post some more pics as the buds start to show up.

AK is the shit! I had a run of the same for 4 straight years. Didn't think to save pollen. Did everything including gerbillic acid but no hermies. :badday:

Hermies do not necessarily mean hermie for ever. I have seen this posted many times but is not true. The hermie characteristic is built into all plants including our favorite. It is natures back up system. Some species and genius are more prone to the characteristic and definitely some strains of MJ are also but once hermie always hermie is not true. If particular phenotype returned to optimal growing conditions the expression again becomes dormant as it originally was.

Peace and look forward to following my favorite... AK. Until like women, I find another. No offense to the Shila's.

Thanks for dropping by guys, no signs of Herms here yet, I was just tying down a few stems on one of them, and after 5 days of 12/12 I am starting to see the first bud sites, root development is most impressive. I am a little disappointed in only being down to 3 but it was probably for the best as it was getting quite crowded in there. I should have something to report after this week, check back then

3 Weeks Saturday

3 Weeks Saturday

Well it has been a few weeks since I have updated, I switched the lights three weeks ago Saturday. I did not want to just post more pics of vegging plants.

I had to do something about the height of these plants, the lst was not working out well, so I got some chicken wire I had hanging around and did a scrog/LST mix. I placed the screen about 3 inches below the bud sites and fed them thru. As the gre up a bit I have been tying them to the screen.

I have been leaving a bit of vegetation below the screen as well, the fan leaves are large and healthy, why get rid of them.

Will update again in a couple weeks. I have 18 inches to the bulb now, I could use probably up to 8 to 10 inches away before heat becomes a real issue here

4 weeks

Howdy all, 4 weeks in and wow, is my place starting to stink, I have been using the glade plug in oils, the ones that switch every so often so you don't get used to it. Was working well but I have used up all the oil and have just a straight plug in which does shit.

But on to the update, I had asked Santa( which in my case) is just my gf for a new cfl light for vegging, well what I got was a regular light bulb with 120 dollars taped to it, so I went off to my local shop today and picked one up

The canopy, a lst/scrog mix to keep the plants from growing into the bulb

95 Watts 6400K

My buds are doing very well, I am very pleased with the grow so far, and with under 4 weeks remaining now, whoo hoo. I am excited to get to smoke some.
It has been just about 4 months since I had to buy anything for I have at least saved myself 400+ dollars.

So, all good here will be back next week with a progress reoprt

Three weeks to go

Well I have made quite a few mistakes this round, but I am pleased with what I got so far. I nearly had a catastrophe this weekend, but luckily I was somewhat prepared.

I have been using a sheet of black/white visqueen for my door, it reflects well and I can adjust it easily to let heat escape. Well, I had an issue this week with my vision, and staring into the box, was really messing with my depth perception, so for some reason i rolled up a section of visqueen, and somehow did not realize that I placed it right on the 400 w mh bulb, I still did not get it until I smelled the plastic burning, after cursing for a bit, I decided to check the damage. A big hole in my door, and black melted plastic on the bulb. It was about 10 mins to lights out so I thought I would wait till morning to deal with it. Well there is plastic in what looks to be "one" with the bulb. So if anyone has any ideas on how i could clean the bulb I am all ears. Luckily I had a spare bulb.

I guess the second mistake I made was trying to do a lst/scrog in the middle of flowering. Lord(jeebus) knows how much stress I put the plants under during that, and then tying them down so late into flowering, I have a few large colas and a bunch of small buds. I will definately make sure all my plant training is done before I get into the next group. I initially started with 8 seeds and got 2 females and one Hermi. I pulled the herm as soon as the flowers starting showing up inside the female buds. It was nearly 5 weeks in and had some good buds, and lots of trics so I dried it out, and made half of it into a bubble hash and trimmed the rest( emergency stash ). The other two plants show no signs of herms and no seeds either.

This is what I was talking about with the large cola and the smaller buds, you will see the one jutting out at the bend in the cola, there are three of them just like that on this plant at the bend.

They are starting to really put on the weight and getting frosty. All looks good, the leaves are still staying a very healthy green, I am feeding them full strength nutes, 2 of 3 waterings now, which is about every 2 to three days, they suck it up quickly.

My camera really sucks, but there are lots of crystals here, and stinky, damn that stinks.

Be back next week

Cheers

2 weeks left

2 weeks left

Well, I unexpectedly had some extra time this morning, so I thought I would update my grow.

All going great, it is very hard to not chop them down now, kinda like opening your presents from Xmas early. If I am home it is very hard not be up with them about 20 times a day checking for change.

This is what the two girls have for me so far. 15 separate budsites combined. All basically 6 inches hight right not on the main cola, there are smaller buds at the base of each cola.

This cola is a monster, 14 inches long and pretty thick. The plant this comes on, would have been about 6 ft tall if I had let it go, but I lst'ed it right away during veg to keep it lower in my small box.

I am pretty happy with the output from these plants cannot wait till I get to smoke some, should be right around my birthday.

Be back next week with an update
