This is my 8th grow and I am finally popping an Ace bean. I purchased a fem PM and a fem Malawi for the run after this. In order to prep for the long flower, I grew 3 plants prior so I had at least a 5 month supply of personal. I finished a candy kush, blue widow and amherst sour diesel in May and got about 230 grams, and while those were flowering, I germed the PM seed in a rapid rooter.
I have been tent growing for about 3 years now, and I am able to get some good harvests in limited space using the coco/blumat/scrog combination. I was growing under 2 area 51 RW75 LED lights, and I have now added a Tasty LED single COB into the mix, so i think I will have enough light for this one plant.
I use H&G A/B, silica, a couple shots of cal mag through veg. In flower I add bud-xl and bloombastic as the PK boost.
This is the first time growing a pure sativa, so I am trying to plan out as much as possible for stretch, long flower, environmental needs and anything else I can think of. I have been planning this grow for a while! I don't know if the scrog will be a positive or a negative, but in indicas and hybrids it seems to double my output, so why not? If the scrog hinders this grow, I will have the straight malawi to grow through the winter in my main tent after this, so I will grow that on a mainline if the scrog doesn't live up to the hype. Tent is a 2'X4'X7'. 400cfm fan to pull air.
The plan is to fill the scrog net for another 2 weeks, then take clones from all the uneven growth to get to a flat plane. I have already pulled a couple of clones off of this plant, one of the easiest plants to clone that I've run across. Then I will let the plant recover for a week, then into 11/13 for the next 13-20 weeks. Hoping to have cured bud sometime between thanksgiving and the holidays.
I also have a grow of some dinafem blue thai going in my smaller tent as a backup, will scrog that and harvest probably before I chop this one!
I have one other concern and that is the low humidity I run. I average about 40-48% humidity through my grows, I got the rot a couple of times in the past and now I keep humidity in this range to be sure it never starts up again. I do not use pesticides or herbicides. Wondering if it being too dry might hurt my final weight.
OK that is it for now, I will update more as I fill and trim.
