Green Harvest? Monday? Fuck that Noise.

Green Harvest? Monday? Fuck that Noise.

First off, I was on vacation for awhile a couple of weeks back. Should they want to waste gas looking, please, do it. Because there is nothing to see. I have four Skunkdog clones in flower and five..... let's just call them an overflow.... donated from a neighbor.

Your first warning caused that donation.

But DB? In this case, I'd bet your second warning just knocked some more fully veged clones right into my garden. Even when I want to take a break, I can't. These damn clones keep falling out of the sky.

WILL THIS MADNESS EVER END????

So keep 'em comming. I better go dig some holes so they have a place to land.

And if worse comes to worse, Plan B. I'll let wifey at 'em.

Second, we did not go fishing. Anyone that fishes Uluas knows that you put your poles up in December. Until the Jackarandas start flowering next Spring, it is pointless.

No, what Casper and I did was put together a program to feed the small fish Christmas dinner early. Just our way of giving back. We just set our poles out as the buffet line. I even had a feeling that one on the poles wasn't gonna get with the program, so I broke it. Seriously. Ask Casper. Contrary to what he will say that was NOT a tantrum.

And Thank You RT for it......

Am I familiar with Lemon Thai. No, I'm not. But I can say, without a shadow of a doubt, that those genetics are NOT original to Hawaii.

Why not?

Because every scrap of green you see growing here has come from somewhere else. Some floated on air currents, or on, or in, birds. Some floated on the sea, Man brought most of them in, Cannibis included. When these islands were born, they were born sterile.

Born of fire, and thus sterile, each island was a solid pebble in a sea of wind blowing across the open ocean. The islands stuck up far enough to alter the windflow, The windward sides get huge amounts of rain. The leeward side hardly any. And between the two, depending on topography, a mix. And depending on how high up on the hill you are, then you get the temperature changes that come as you gain altitude.

So look at the big picture. Windward to leeward, more to less rain. As you go up, it gets colder. Snow is not unheard of here. These varying conditions? You don't have to go far to be growing the same plant in wildly different conditions. Do that for just five years. One single cloned strain, five different growers, scattered throughout this island.

At the end of those five years, that single strain has morphed in five different directions. Sure, they will rhyme, but they won't be identical anymore. Add to that we can breed a plant three times a year. Three distinct growing seasons. You guys have one.... unless outside light is brought in....sorry,Florida has two.

So, you throw all this together, Hawaii is a place, with just a few strains, can produce an almost infinite number of variations to the mix. What Lemon Thai was, is a mainland breeder reaching into the goodie bag of a single Hawiian pollen chucker, picking what he thought was best AT THE TIME.

Would I breed the Scogi to any Thai strain? I would, but it wouldn't sell. Unless I went around handing out free samples.

Settle down you bastards...not gonna happen. Free samples. Pffft.

The sad thing is everyday strains like Lemon Thai are rejected. With many variations, and very limited plant count, we simply don't have the room to push these forward, so they are lost.

Thanks for the info. Makes sense. What about the Molokai, and maui? I supposed we cant call them native to the islands, as u said, these genetics were brought in. Most likely by man. But Is it fair to say these are acclimated to these regions, and most likely have been growing here hundreds of years?
I personally have been brainstorming the Goji/Lemon Thai, and I happen to be in possession of both lines. Just need to do some selection, and I might have to make this happen. These wouldnt be strong yielders, but I think would def be some great headstash, and possibly future breeders. Keep on keepin on fellas. Will be interesting to see what changes as the DOH takes over the reigns. I predict they wont be getting involved too much unless there are complaints. Only time will tell.

@DB is that the casper?

I'm right at my total numbers but they all look like this fine for next year

Thought it was my local kine neighbor giving me some junk advice, but now I see it must of just been the wrong time of year for ulua fishing. Said I should try sliding a taco down the line...ulua whackem. Do you know how hard it is to get a corn tortilla shell on a hook without it cracking? after a dozen attempts, impossible I think. Then it hit me, soft tacos. Like duh?right? Flour tortillas way more easier. Only question now was, chicken or beef?I had asked if he like beef before I go or was he a chicken guy?He became really angry really fast. Well anyhoodle I tried both that night with no success. It was until the drive back up the mountain in the morning I realized the error of my thinking. Fish eat fish. Fish tacos! My neighbor musta been angry I was asking the wrong question. The nextime I saw him I asked if fish was the ticket. I think he said Portuguese fish man. He was laughing pretty hard it wasn't easy to hear exactly. I've eaten Portuguese sardines before do you think those are what he might of meant? I can imagine the they might make great bait. Should I use the tomato ones or just plain kine in oil?

Hang on guys..... Yesterday the new Governor was checking out the lava flow. That Puma the DEA flies around is a twin engine bird that is plush. My bet is some big shot was just looking at the situation. I really doubt the powers that be are so chickenshit that they are trying to Green Harvest while a lava flow is poised to roll thru the center of town....while the new Gov watches.

Nope..... that would not get him re elected. Lose the entire Big Island. Not good. Can't really tell from the angle of the shot, but the chopper looks door closed. When they fly GH that door is left open. Searching, door open. Hauling ass? door closed.

You have an active volcano upslope of you. Bet that just about every chopper in the state will fly over to take a peek.....might as well get used to it.

Sweet Jeebus, that would suck.

They were flying grids and circled me twice and Surfout also. This was not a vol visit, but at 5:15 they came back doing the tourist copter thing. Oh I have copters over my house all day long they come in waves starts at 6;30 with the civil defense morning run. These guys hit my neighbor a few years back they repel down no honk at the gate. They didn't fly with NED last time so just doing their own thing.

Could've been maybe. The orange shirted cannabis Cowboys were in my neck of the woods eating lunch with their trucks and van full of slashed and garbage bagged booty stinking up the parking lot for forty minutes. Christmas bonus maybe.

stumbled upon this girl? Boy? in the bush today. Must have been right in front of my face for ten minutes before I noticed. Holy camouflage Batman!

Working Title

Whoda guessed it?

The fuckin' pagans were on to something.

When it all boils out, all Christmas is, the mythical birth of the skywizzards to beat all other skywizzards, angels, shepards, that's all just propaganda,

Ask me, I know, any good story needs some fizz. Like you can tell me all this shit happened, two thousand fourteen years ago to the fuckin' day?

Sorry dude... I call Bullshit.

Now the Pagans... see? Capital P. The Pagans were on to something. They weren't gonna throw a party four days late. Those fuckers figured out that the days stopped getting shorter, for some mysterious reason. And that needed celebrating. And not let's give each other worthless trinkets, no, they were more, "Let's sacrifice some virgins!" and the chicks were all like "Free blow jobs!"

Then they went out and built Stonehendge. Or maybe Jeebus did. I can't tell you, I wasn't there.

Point is, they saw something. Something concrete, real, and this effected their lives. The circle, looping back, like it always has, like it always will. It gets no darker.

So, were here, or at least will be in a handfull of hours. No darker... at 1:05 PM HST, the worm turns. Tommo...sorry, today, will be 10 hours 48 minutes long. next day, the same, next day,10 hours 50 minutes. two whole minutes of light, that were not there yesterday.
Seems insignificant, and it is. But still, you're heading in the right direction.

Now, a couple of you have already called me on my shit. I guess, do this for awhile, you get predictable. You noticed a dropped comment about seeds dug up from way back when. You, correctly, I might add, firured out I was gonna run those over the Bonus Round. I was, you were right, but, there's always a but, none of them gerninated. None. Nada. Zip. Normally, a failure like this would not ever be mentioned. But you got me.

It was a nice plan. Do a true old style Bonus Round, with old genetics. It just didn't fly.

I didn't think it would. So we made alternate plans. What Sativa genetics could do, way back when, I can do, now, with Indica doms and supplimental light. These were all started at the right time. Now the first wave has declared, and the second is starting to do that now.

One nice thing about a vacation, is that when it is done, you hit the ground running. Pretty much did that. Turned the Summer planter that only held one plant, the dogs didn't like that waste of space, so they started to show me what needed to get done. And they were right. That space now can hold three.

Ok... I'm not gonna get this one done tonite. Rather than scrapping it all, and it has a decent start, be back tomorrow, edit this out, clean it up, and see if there is a decent finish. see ya then. Night.

I'm back! And sweet Jeebus what a difference a day or two makes.

Winter started out just like she should. Fall was beautiful.... if you don't count the two pounding rain storms right over harvest. About two hours after Fall ended, and the pagans started to party... the sky opened up. The first real front of Winter, arrived on the first day of Winter. Even better, a large pool of cold air snuck in behing the original front, invigorating it.

Hell, look at the weather report. You see shit in there that you almost never see here. Words like Blizzard, Hail and Winter Storm Warning. And I pay good money NOT to see that shit! Oh well, it could be worse. How'd you like to be the UPS guy today?
