There is an app on the android playstore. It's called apps to fire. It allows you to put android apps on a firestick from your phone. You connect your phone to the firestick via WiFi and upload what apps you want from your phone. I've got an idea. Hold on.

Ok and there is another app on the playstore that puts builds on Kodi.it's called complete kodi set up wizard.
It has all the good simple builds like the beast etc. Is there no way you could get it set up on a android phone or tablet and then use the apps 2 fire app to get it on the firestick?

I've just used it to put kodi and set it up on my phone.
It took 5 minutes.

There's a whole list of builds you can pick from and change at anytime. I would just like to say that my firestick works awesome so don't blame the stick. You just need to get it set up right. It's all good putting on ya own repos and trying to do it like that but it's too complicated and messy for me. That's why I like to put on builds. Just try a build on your firestick and it will change your mind about them.

If you can set it up on your phone or tab then use apps 2 fire to install it on firestick that's awesome. I'm not sure if it can be done but seeing as you have to set up your fire stick you may aswell give it a try.

I know I'm going on but this is gonna help people with fire stick. Ok so I've just uploaded the complete kodi set-up wizard app on the firestick using apps2fire and it works perfectly with the firestick remote.
So as long as you have kodi on firestick, sideload the complete kodi set-up wizard. Pick a build,click install and it will put the build on your kodi.
Do that then come tell me what you think of the firestick lol

Oh and apps2fire is a lot simpler to use than es explora but only available on android device's.
You download the apps from playstore,so no apk files.

Apps2fire is what I ended up using to install kodi and mobdro. I didn't do a build though for addons. I did that manually. Do you have mobdro functioning properly on your firestick? I've got kodi setup to my liking but must admit I still really don't care much for the firestick at this time. Seems slow and sluggish to open apps/navigate. To each there own. This is just my own personal opinion.

Yeah mobdro always works for me. I've been using that complete kodi set-up wizard app for past out removing and putting new build on. It works great. Takes just seconds to put a build on kodi with it. Is you internet connection between 10-15mbps? Can't see why it's running slow for you.

I have 15mbps right now, being upgraded to 25 today I hope. So you in talk kodi through apps2fire then use something else for this build? Mobdro opens and shows channels but when I click on them nothing happens at this point. I loaded mobdro through apps2fire from my phone. Works fine on my phone

Yeah download an app called complete kodi set-up wizard from playstore. Then put it on firestick using apps2fire. Open up the app on firestick then just click the bit that says install builds. It brings up a list of builds to choose from. Click one and it takes about a minute to install the build. Once installed exit the app then go onto kodi and the build will be on there. If you don't like that build go back to the set up app and click remove build and then install a different one until you find one you really like.

I really don't understand the issues your having with mobdro. I'm gonna uninstall mine later then reinstall it to see if I have issues

I dont have an answer for this. Im my mind Im telling myself that its due to not having a touchscreen lol kinda like clicking the button on the firestick remote just isnt starting the stream. Hell if I know. Mobdro updated a few days ago but works perfectly fine on my smart phone, just does nothing on the firestick. Ill get it all figured out. Thanks for the help. Ive been running kodi on pc since xbmc days. And since December on Raspberry Pi running openelec. Guess I just need to get used to the change.

Well I'm really dumb at this sort of stuff and normally have to pay someone else but after finding these apps I can do it all myself. Saving £25.
Mobdro is difficult to use with the remote lol. It all works backwards. I have to use my left or right button to go Down onto main banner to select shows,channels etc. Then when on main banner I have to press up and down to select the options that are on the left and right. Is that your problem maybe?

The simplicity build on that app is the best build I've found so far. It's got everything.

I am able to select channels lineup...then say I highlight ABC, and click the center button but nothing happens?

Plus no matter what I do I can't get into the mobdro settings. Control just will not allow you to get there

This is exactly what I am thinking as well. I'll try and find an older version perhaps. Yes I tried all buttons

I have Kodi running on a Raspberry Pi 2 running some customised addons I did myself
I also run it on my laptop so I can watch the Moto GP and football if I'm away from home

Well I removed modro and now can't get it back on ffs. Oh well having loads of fun trying all the different builds. Im using the dream build at moment. It has all the sky channels with a working tv guide, first time I've seen that.
What I'm thinking about doing is buying a load of firesticks setting them up and selling them on eBay..... Haha only joking,I'm not a prick.
I have told some friends to get the sticks and I will set them up for nothing rather than them having to pay to have it done.
