The Dam is fun, but it's expensive, and has gotten so much more commercial. You can find great varieties of strains, and definitely something you like. But, remember, these guys aren't putting their best wares in coffee shops. They hoard it for themselves and trade/sell among their circles of friends. The best weed in the Dam is black market, ironically.
Yep. When we were there in March it was very tasty and one of the cheapest on the Dampkring menu. Don't know what it actually is, maybe the local Amnesia cut that Karma did well in the IC Cup with?

I have not been to Amsterdam for many many years. The best I've smoked was Haze Dynamite from Pink Floyd (now Dampkring I believe). No matter what I smoked over there as soon as I smoked some haze Dynamite it blew the other highs away as well as blowing my head off!

Dude... im from UK. Amsterdam is a cpl hours away from me, I have been there a good 5 times now.....and ill be there again before the year is out.This is either a very sick joke or you know absolutely nothing about Amsterdam except what you hear from Fox news. Which is it? There is already too much mis information about The Netherlands without you adding to it.
I seen crazy sights in the streets of Amsterdam.... Crackheads and smackheads fighting in ally ways late at night (its easy to wonder into these dodgy areas) constant Bl*ck guys whispering 'coke coke, ecstasy ecstasy' quietly in my ear...

Amsterdam itself is addictive.... Beautiful, mysterious, seedy... and 100times more amazing when stoned outa ya tree!
but this attracts total weirdo's, not just cool potheads!When i first stepped off the bus, on my 1st trip to Dam, i looked in the very 1st shop window and seen a poster of a donkey getting his Co*k sucked by some hot blonde!...
This place is not 'normal' and the crazy members of the society, cant help but wonder the eyecandy streets! and you being a tourist wil bump into them... like I have a few times.... BUT don't get me wrong, I LOVE DAM! more than most
and the Amsterdam Police are 100% Quality, i wouldn't say that about any other police...Dam is a safe place, as long as you are careful (just like anywhere)...
best part about a-damn would be , just being able to smoke comfortably in the open buyin from coffe shops talking to cute girls!

Amsterdam is not safe for women. I had a friend who lived there and told me junkies roam the streets and will pull out their used needle and scare you for money.
i;ve been myself several times. thugs waiting to rob you, sell you hard drugs, etc.
it's cool if you are a dude, with a dude, or only go out during the day if you are a female.
all that negativity aside, it's architecture is beautiful and the dutch people are super nice. lot's of great felafel joints, hookers, and weed.
the weed is superior in calfiornia, but it's super cool to be able to smoke openly in a coffeeshop.
Amsterdam is safer than most UK and US cities for women or anyone fact!. And I wish ppl would stop banging on about the quality unless you've been to places that sell decent weed not that tourist shit ppl buy in the red light district.
I think people forget theres more to the city than the 1 square mile of red light district. If you go and hang out in the crappiest part of any city you'll probably find it un settling eh...

OK, my pall just booked me a flight to Schipol on Saturday 31st October... we were planning on going to the cannabis cup this year BUT we thought the place would be too packed out for our liking... so hopefully just before the cup it should be kinda empty... and some nice buds floating around!
So does anyone have a list of coffee shops recommended? 'Grey Area' is on top of my list for AAAReservoir buds, but i also want to venture outside the city... some ppl here have mentioned 'Harlem coffee shops' what's the deal with getting to Harlem? can i just take a bus?
Anyway... i haven't been to Dam for a cpl years now... and I'm not interested in Greenhouse or Grasshopper rubbish any-more!
I want to make this trip 1 to remember, and need to try all the best buds possible, for ideas on my next Grow!

best to take the train to Haarlem mate, its not very expensive (about a fiver I think)and takes only 10 minutes, where as the bus wont be much cheaper and takes fookin hours...
