Nice report...glad you enjoyed your trip...really sorry to hear you didn't have such an enjoyable visit at Cafe 420 De Kuil though, very surprised as I know the owner and manager there and know them to always...always...accommodate N American canna enthusiasts. The classic rock music selection in there is second to none of any coffee shop in the dam...period. Sounds so odd that I'm wondering if there wasn't some sort of personnel prob in there coincidentally the day you visited????

DG - Thanks! 420 was no problem, it was just some drunk patron at the bar. We were out and about shopping but just wanted to stop in and check it out. Needed a beer break cause of all the walking we were doing. Music was good though, I love classic rock. I love pretty much all kinds of music.

Shah...! M. Steelers, Amnesia Haze from Barney's was the one that kicked my ass, too. Even after a day of smoking other stuff, and a good amount of 'em, I still felt the AH down to my toes... BUZZZZZZZZ> Like a humming chainsaw through my bloodstream. It was fun..! Took a couple of days for the Sativa to register in my Indica-overload state...>!
Barney's Breakfast Bar a few doors down from the Coffeeshop had a good American Good breakfast, worldly, waitresses, and quick service. Way better than a Denny's here...haha
At the Coffeeshop, uneven friendliness from the budtenders, lotsa rookies staring about in baseball caps - as in any American street scene. Oh well - globalism isn't always a good thing. LOL There is one gent who doles out the nugulars there who is super cool. You know who you are, and aren;t.
As for the rest of the smoke, well, no biggie. Most of us Cannaseur/growers are really picky, a good thing.
The Blueberrys, the Shivas, most of the Hazes, were lousy, tasteless, some were old. Barely stony. Only for last gasp mixing with hash.
Amnesia Coffeeshop is a classic, for sure. Nice decor, great neighborhood, good hours. Excellent smoke, as it goes. A few young student Dutchie scammers in there all day, sippiing on a drink, looking for a dizzy American Tourist piece of A*s, but other than that. All good. King Crimson Music, classic stoner stuff, one time when I started the day there, a chilly morning in November 2004.
Their Lavender was notable, and 2nd best I would say by my estimation. Wishing I had not missed their MK Ultra by a couple of weeks, as it was my intention to avoid the Cann Cup and have a bit of quiet in my favorite City, next to San Francisco.
I also missed Coffeeshop Katsu, and they were said to have a few TH Seeds strains, as well. Won't let that happen again. They had SAGE.
Finally tried SAGE from an SF Med Club. WHOA>>>! A new thing for me... Was like gettiing high for the first time.
My friend had a Mocha hash coffee at Abraxas, and I think she was pretty gone - not sure. I was not too stoked on the pot there, but the place is beautiful, as are the lovely women that work there. Friendly and all. Good place to check your Email. And the surf you are missing at home.
Yes, most of the AMS pot did not satisfy, quick cure, dry, juiceless, so much tastes the same. Like not much taste at all.
Cannot wait to get back there this winter, however, after all the festivities here. I suspect that the Diesel - Kush thang will be more honed by the time I get there, and a few new strains besides the "_____ Hazes" ad nauseum will be available.
There's always the high grade hash, so I always am happy..! Too bad the real Thai-weed/stix is/are so hard to find in A'Dam these days. (for me at least).
Do Euro-growers distribute the best buds primarily amongst their friends and sell off the rest to the Coffeeshops...? Like it is everywhere else, the select groups get the top tops, and popcorn to the masses...? That would explain the general mediocrity of the nugs in AMS.. 'Cause I don't think that the famous breeders are developing schwag.
