ALTERNATIVES TO CABLE TV

Upgraded my internet connection from 100mbps to 300 mbps but don't see much change. Another screw job from Comcast?

They may have upgraded you, but it's doubtful you would notice a difference as most people (except gamers) don't really push their bandwidth much.
I gave my old Roku to a friend with satellite internet (slow as can be) and it even worked fine with that. It just had to buffer the movies for a few seconds before they would start playing.
By the way, you can test your connection at the internet speed test site, if you want:

Comcast sucks. When you look at the fine print they really say "up to 300mbs" they don't guarantee anything. We have their "Blast" internet and are lucky to get 120mbs,

Sorry I don't have much to add but local TV and my PS4 was plenty.for movies it had free Netflix from my friend and Free Pluto TV plus crackle or whatever those free apps are.someone told me they pay 200 dollars for cable.thats absolutely ridiculous unless your very invested in sports.even then I could find free sports streaming links on Reddit if I couldn't get the football game I wanted.

I recently switched to a small local wifi company. They seem to be popping up all over the place.

No federal, or state communication taxes! They say they broadcast on frequency that isn't governed by the FCC.

And it's unlimited data!

Instead of my satellite pointed up to space, it is pointed at another satellite on a mountain a few miles away.

I love it. It's fast, and I never run out of data, so connections are always fast.

Hardly watch the direct TV at all anymore

The channel is available, but you need a cable or satellite subscription in order to use it.

Personally, I wouldn't bother with TCM, but if you really like it, go for it. There are tons of free classic movie and TV channels available on Roku.
The last time I checked, Vudu had like 6,000 free movies and 20,000 pay movies.

There's got to be some app that tells us which apps & browser windows are using the bandwidth.

Sort of like Task Manager but for the Internet connection.

There are still broadcast channels

There are still broadcast channels

does roku have wgn or we tv ?

I'm looking for law and order, turner old movies ( I did old movies),

I know this is an old thread but nobody mentioned that... You can buy an antenna that picks up a bunch of digital channels over the air, depending where you live. I haven't seen Turner, but old tee vee shows like Law and Order are there. Gunsmoke and many other westerns too.

Look up the availability here:

https://www.fcc.gov/media/engineering/dtvmaps

https://nocable.org/hd-antenna-coverage-map

https://www.metv.com

https://www.grittv.com

https://iontelevision.com

https://dev2.escapetv.com/tv-schedule/

https://www.mytv8-3.com

Plus the PBS which has Nove and Frontline
and the lying cheating liberal mainstream networks.

But if you live where the weather can get bad, the over-the-air signal works much better than satellite and there are no poles to blow down taking out the cable. This is a necessity around here.

All you need is an internet connection and a device with a browser. I was just testing it on my computer using Chrome. This is no shit, it works.

It's a "live" broadcast, but it is about 1-2 minutes behind what's on the tv. I was watching the Science Channel on cable and pulled it up on my PC. Same program, just 1-2 minutes delay between cable and the PC. There is a full screen mode just like Youtube.

Thank You welder Dan, four times!!!!!

Do I need VPN to keep the movie nazis off my porch?

I have an older firestick - and need to load KODI and this site you posted.

Edit: doesn't do well in times of high traffic, like national championship football games on ESPN.
