I wish I knew how to post up pics that size....Im not the best with computers...

When I try to upload it, it exceeds size limit, and im having trouble using a picresizing program.

How do you guys put up those big pics?

dunno about the limitations on icm for posting pictures as ive always seen it too troublesome to use for pix and i use imageshack.us for pics instead ( just upload using a proxy if security is a concern)
one thing i know about icm picture hosting is that in some cases, esp when used as attachments it block guest from viewing which sucks as i and i know a lot of others only login using proxies for security, but as proxies are often slow most picture viewing in here is done as guest browsing meaning those posts with attachments used will have no pictures displayed

i guess that limitation is set by icm to save bandwidth but it sucks so i mostly avoid thread that use attachments for the same reason

using an external imagehost with proxy upload keeps security high while it doesnt use icm server bandwidth and it doesnt limit viewers to logged in members only

to have a free, easy to use picture viewer many times better than those build in windows try this one
resizing pix is also very easy
just double click the picture and choose Image and then Resize
then choose any size you want
www.irfanview.com
its free, fast and easy to use
you can use it just for resizing fast n easy but its way better than most others so i recommend letting it replace those during install

FP i hope you manage to get them pix posted without the size and member login restrictions but your threads are so cool i might might one exception from my rule about avoiding threads that use attachments

keep growing like you do
looks really great so far :woohoo:

Try this for the large pic format.

When you go into your Forum Albums (new pics) and open it up. Now choose the pic you are after and click on it. Boom it will get large in the Forum Albums window. Now just hover the mouse over the pic you want and click the RIGHT hand mouse button and a drop down menu will appear in that drop down menu you will see [copy] click on that. Now go back to the Outdoor forum thread (should actually be 2 windows open [Forum Album] and [the Outdoor forum thread]) and see where you cursor is blinking just to make sure where the large pic will drop and again click the RIGHT hand mouse button and a drop down menu will appear with [paste] as a option click on that and you should have a large pic. in your V3 baby.

Don’t worry about this until you have the large pic in your thread
Here's something that took me forever to figure out. Once you click on the pic in your Forum Albums and it becomes large I could never figure out how to get back to all the thumbnail pics. I would always have to close it and reopen Forum Albums. Look at the very top of the large pic window and you will see a menu tree for lack of a better word. It will be in top left hand corner click on the name of your Forum Album and it will bring you back to the thumbnail size pics. Now you can start all over again.
PEACE

I can't wait to see pictures of this in a couple more months...after reading your other threads a few times I know this one is going to be even better. I thought vol. 2 was as good as it gets, but with the kind of prep work you're doing I think I'm mistaken...vol. 3 will be phenominal.

After reading your threads I've becoming incredibly inspired and realized that mediocre success is only due to mediocre effort...there is no excuse to do a half assed job on my part any more. Keep up the good work man!

Oh and I would also like to ask about the bottomless bucket system when you have a minute. Obviously you cut the bottom out of a 5gal bucket and sink it in the ground, but do you do any more preperation or amendment to the soil below the bucket? Do you fill the bucket back in with amended native soil or use a horticultural mix like Sunshine mix or something?

That's dedication man :)
That shot with the ladder is epic - I hope this season treats you really well, I'm definitely hitting the subscribe button here.
Next year it's probably going to be fems for me too - such a waste of time and space to be vegging unsexed plants and digging holes just to come back and pull males.

Update:....Bad news.

Update:....Bad news.

....<deep sigh>...Fuck.

Some real bad shit happened 2days ago.

I went to go water my second patch(one that I havent introduced into the thread yet, the one that did me soooo good last year). This is the highest matenance plot and has full irrigation, ~300 prepped planting holes, each hole hand mixed ~2' deep. The plants(clones) are two foot tall bushes and are doing better that ever before! All 300 of em..On track to be close to a pound per.. :nono:

About an hour into work, I had to hike back to the truck to get a fuse for the pump. 20yds before I popped out on to the dirt road I noticed 2 people hiking down it. (not terribly uncommon)I hid and let them pass on by. No big deal. Went to the truck, came back and resumed work..About an hour later I had worked into a far corner of the patch, was on my hands and knees topfeeding buckets when I saw a fuckin footprint!!! My heart sank....
<deep sigh>

I wear leather moccasins so I leave absolutely no footprints, so I knew that the print that I was staring at wasnt mine.....I ultimately ended up tracking BOTH SETS of prints back into the forrest away from the road. I could tell that the prints were very fresh. After gathering my self up, I quickly took my shirt an wiped off anything I had touched that day, grabbed anything of value left on site and bailed. On the hike back to the truck I compared thefoot prints of the 2 people that walked past before...It was them.

A older coupple, guy had grey hair and a tucked in shirt, both wore nice clothes(hiking gear), sun hats..Judging by there actions and appearnce they seem nice enough. They didnt look like they smoke weed at all, so theft isnt really the issue here....Im very, very worried that these people might tip off the cops....
<deep sigh>

Heres my take on the situation and where to go from here.....:smoke:

......Im giving it 2 weeks. If the patch hasnt been eraticated in 2 weeks, I dont think the old coupple called it in...Couldnt immagine it taking them 2 weeks to call the cops, and coudnt immagine the cops letting a tip like that rest for 14 days without acting on it...

Unfortunantly I have to go back before then to water, as I wasnt able to water on my last visit...

I will stash my pump, and any remaining gear that could incriminate me down the road from the patch. I will pack extra props like camping gear and a coupple of Mtn bikes or some shit in the back of the truck, and hike into the patch with a prop...Maby a woodsaw for campfire wood, or a birdwatching book and binoculars...Im not sure yet..JUst act like I stumbled on that shit..

If the cops are there wating for me, I would immagine I would still get arrested, but its alot better than showing up witha watering can in hand, ya know...

If the cops dont jump out of the fuckin bushes, I will hike back to the truck, go pick up the gear, and quickly water the garden with gloves on, glasses, hat, and bandana over my face...an get the hell out of there.
.....................................

Even if im lucky enough to make it past my 2week point, im still seriously at risk, and am going to be constantly battlin the butterflys that have hatched in my stomach over this security breach..
At the same time I realize that this "is the job", and at any time weeeeks of backbreaking work can be destroyed..

Im trying to keep my spirits up an keep the positive vibes flowing, even though im fuckin crushed.

Visited the other patch(one I introduced in the opening post) yesterday morning. That definantly helped uplift my spirits, things are doing very well there. Was too mentaly jumbled up to worry about flicks though, sorry guys..

Over all, im still doing better than I was lastyear, even with this catastrophy. Thank God I did 2 patches, eh..

Hope all's well with my fellow guerillas..

FastPine, as always I'll be sending some positive thoughts your way, bro. I've never been in your situation, but know that has to be a terrible blow - thinking you may lose an incredible plot filled with burgeoning beauties. I hope the trekkers won't do anything about their discovery, other than be impressed.

It sounds like you have a pretty good plan to check back in on your plot. I might just hike around the plot for a day or 2 - just sort of perimeter, so you don't leave any tracks through your plot with your hiking boots. Don't have anything at all on you or in your truck, and if you get a good, comfortable feeling after your couple of days worth of recon, then follow through with your plan? You've got much more experience than I, but it doesn't seem like a bit of extra recon would hurt?

Best of luck to you, my friend!

You should have 4 spots not two, your really taking your chances, similar thing happened to me but im lucky this spot only had small plants and didn't look like anything, basically I was bringing water in from vehicle hose running down to my spot and forestry drives up... shitty I played it off looking totally guilty but never admitted to anything and they never checked. I left and haven't been back since.. I learned an important thing though if work starts at 6 in the morning you can expect someone to come by eventually, from now on I only pump water at night, and to be much more careful where I decide to park.

That fucking sucks we both know what its like to be ripped in the last couple of years but arrested is another thing. Nice work taking the time to do an autopsy on the events. Its always much easier on the mind than not knowing any info that’s the worst.

I hope I can help with an unbiased viewpoint not being there caught up in the moment.

1.Can you gain any insight on how the dude’s site got busted that you found in V1 of your thread. How did the cops handle that one???

2. I am guessing public land. If private the owner more likely to take matters into his own hands. Public land opens up the “do gooder” scenario

3. If it were 30 plants I would say they wouldn’t set up any type of trap but 300 could be enough to make them say lets stake this out. I really would slow play this. Don’t rush into anything use binocs to try and gain an advantage to who, what, when, where.

I have to say that 300 plants is enough for them to not to rush into anything either. They know you are not going to walk away from this grow without a fight. They may slow play you. I have no real experience in this comment but please consider a long drawn out investigation if it goes that way. Keeping track of what cars drive in the vicinity, running plates. Even if they had to run 20-30 different plates that wouldn’t be implausible would it. Not sure either but we are talking abut 300 plants real nice bust to plaster all over the newspapers. Have Mrs. FP drop you off from now on. This plots to hot to over look any security details right now.
I know you have to water but wait until you absolutely have to. Maybe a nighttime visit.

4. Did you wipe away all footprints including the two intruders? Might be a good idea so you can ID new ones from new visitors.

5. Does it make sense that the trail they were hiking on would lead them down to your plot?? Just wondering in my mind what brought them off the beaten trail.

6. Pot smokers would be more likely to just enjoy the sight maybe even thinking of ripping but non smokers not so, more likely to tell friends and/or the cops.

Lastly trying to put myself as the hiker in this situation what would I do as a hiker enjoying a little nature. So many personalities and scenarios its really hard to say. If you are nature purist you would want to take action. On the other hand it may be just an exciting story to tell some friends. To hard to make a real decision based on what their actions may be so you just have approach it as the worst case scenario. No other way to think in my mind. Its your fucking freedom remember that brother.

I would let it go.. not for the sake that it might get ripped, but freedom. Run a couple spots of late season minis somewhere else to make up for it but just know once they got you they will come down hard.

Here's another possibility that you shouldn't rule out either...some people automatically assume that a grow op that size must be associated with organised crime or violent people. They might have driven home and talked about it a bit and decided that they didn't want to report it since someone might have seen them in the patch and if they report it they might be hurt or something. Who knows? You won't know until you go back and visit..

I would be really careful going back there. In my neck of the woods (western canada) they usually don't put much emphasis on actually making arrests, they just want to pull the plants out, but I was reading the local paper in my small home town last fall when I was visiting my folks and read about several busts made because the cops had planted camera's in tree's to catch people in the act of watering at the patch. I had no idea they went to that kind of lengths, and I don't think it happens often but something to think about. I'd go in there wearing a mesh bug suit with an extra mesh bug net or two over you're face. That way you might have a decent excuse to be all bundled up (nobody likes mosquitos or fly's). Be careful and if you have a close call don't be afraid to abandon ship and focus on the other patch..life is too rich to spend behind bars if you can get out of that one for the time being.

Best of luck man, I hope to continue reading this thread to the end.
