I've never noticed this indoors, but outdoors I've experienced itchiness, sniffles and even a dull high and mild tummy ache from skin contact with large amounts of pure sativa bud while trimming. I also once stuck a branch from a hybrid strain under my shirt and it made me itch like crazy.

I was working with a large indoor op a long time ago and whenever I came in heavy contact with the girls I wold get unbearably itchy

I havent met a person yet that didnt sneeze and get snotty if they got some trichomes to the nasal.
Id say its less of an allergy and more of a natural reaction. In the eyes or nasal passage trichomes burn, I dont care who you are.
Anyone who says they have no skin reaction I say work up a good sweat and then take some really dry material or lol some dry sift and sprinkle it all over the back of your sweaty neck/back then get back with us lol.

When taking down plants or off the line I can get itchy. If I get a nose full of trichome dust its all bad for a few hours. Best to just wear some long sleeves and a respirator from the jump. My 2.

one of the side effects it has on me is more stoned thinking.

Like, could you make post-it pads using Cannabis as the adhesive ?

But I get the rash too. It always surprised me. I thought it was just me. Via the magic of the internet, I find out that a lot of people have this reaction.

I get a rash from blackberry and a Mega-rash from Poison oak.

So sometimes there's a whole lot of scratching going on.

My wife gets migraines the last 10 days or so....I'm chopping on the 5th of july and she has been complaining for a couple days...She leaves for 2 days during chop...Upside I know when my crop is getting done...lol

I get a rash if I brush my arms with a freshly cut stem and get some of the sap on me. Nose also runs from trimming...

Nausea....after 8 hours locked in a room trimming..yeah I feel like I wanna puke...smell gets to you after a while....strain decides how long before it gets to me.....Fruity smelling ones are better....

And resin in the eyes....HOLY FUCK that hurts....I've accidentally touched my eyes a couple times....you would think I'd learn :p

I now get the rash, bad, from my indoor girls. It only takes a little contact and I get hives that itch for up to a day.

Every time I've neglected to wear gloves while trimming I've experienced a low level sedative effect that last for at least an hour after I finish trimming. I've also occasionally felt very noticeable allergy symptoms such as itchy skin & eyes, hives, runny nose & sneezing.

I can assure you that trichome dust has zero effects on me, even if I am covered head to toe with it on my skin. The same with male pollen, I can rub it in my eyes, nose, arms, mouth, zero effects.
I am not saying that I have never found a single plant that bothered me I have. My buddy had imported seed from Afghanistan and he grew a plant he named KGB, when mature anyone that touched the fresh plant broke out with welts/rash on their skin, if they were stupid enough to touch their eyes with hands with the resin on it, they could not see for half an hour or more, puffed up eyes all teary, all refused to manicure it fresh. After drying it was fine for anyone to touch, no problems.
I had a gal that helped me in my greehouse every year she would get rashes on her arms from large Cannabis plants even if not yet flowered, after a few weeks working the rash and problems would almost be gone, she also had problems at first with male pollen.
I wish I had the KGB clone, I would like to see the terpene profile, even though I do not have any use for it.

I wear nitrile gloves and one of these VOC masks ANYTIME I'm trimming or I end up with terrible sinus and upper respiratory problems, not to mention itchy/red/watery eyes/nose/face/skin/everything.

Trimming weed that had any pm on it during flower will puff up white cloudy dust when you dry trim. I always recommend a mask! For me, it takes a couple days to see the reaction. I get a sore throat and a weekend immune system. Time for the echinacea and yerba santa. Yes. It sucks that there's weed out there with pm and people are processing it for folks to smoke it. But it's a reality.

Any one else experienced problems from trimming weed with pm?

It sucks to think that you would actually trim PM affected dry buds Try this, soak the PM buds in water, hang to drain and then trim, then dry on flat screens...beats the heck outta inhaling white cloudy puffs of mold.

all allergic people can use drags to stop allergic reactions. One pill and you are in heaven !

Those pills don't cure the problem, they only mask or lessen the symptoms. Perhaps try growing sativa strains and keep well away from plants that smell like a Kenworth? Try pulling the fan leaves and other large leaves off at harvest, hang the whole plants then dry trim, use lots of ventilation and use a fine mist of water on the plants when trimming. Another way that might help with "itchy" strains is to (remove the medium~large leaves first) soak the buds in clean room temp water right after harvesting for a few moments, then hang dry, this will help if the cause of the allergic reaction is chlorophyll. If you are allergic to wet plants but not dry then it's probably the green that gives you problems.

Another factor might be the way you grow, many, if not most growers posting photos online show plants that are dark green and over dosed with ferts at harvest (I don't know if this is directly related to allergies, but I thought I'd mention it anyway) Ideally,a plant at peak harvest should have lost most of it's fan leaves, and the other larger leaves should have yellowed. Try this, for soil grows, use water only for the last 3 weeks on fast strains and 4 or 5 for longer flowering strains (as well as use light amounts of balanced organic ferts with the right timing) and you will end up with better tasting bud that burns well and leaves a whitish ash..and the high will be better (or at least it seems that way due to being able to better absorb the smoke )
Smoking fast dried, uncured bud gives me sinus problems, never had a problem with rashes from trimming wet plants.

Have you tried to trim in a very well ventilated area?
