As far as the germination rates of Soma's gear....I've had 100% success with everything. I'll have to qualify that also by saying that I purchased 2 of Soma's strains: 1) SoGouda and 2) Lavender.

I purchased Lavender from the Hempdepot in Amsterdam and I purchased SoGouda from The Pollinator in Amsterdam. Mila ordered SoGouda directly for me and got it to me before I left...I bought the last packet of Lavender at Hempdepot.
Both were guaranteed hot off the presses. At the time I was there, SoGouda had JUST come out...
So in both circumstances I was assured that I had fresh, quality beans.
The UNFORTUNATE thing was that I missed Soma himself by just 1 day. He was off to the Spanabis cup in Spain to showcase SoGouda.
I had the invite from the man himself to chillax, burn, break bread and see the 'dam.
I'll be catching up with him directly next time as he was kind enough to forward me his digits and address.
I hear alot of people complaining about germination rates and sketchy quality.
I also know for a fact alot of people (present company excluded) have used this ploy to obtain beans from this guy. I think some of the issue is WHERE the beans were coming from.
Keep in mind that he is a bit pricey, so that keeps his stock in places alot longer than you would want to naturally. In other words..his stuff isn't FLYING off the shelves...so you may get some bunk stuff on occassion.
If you get it straight from the zone or the man himself, I highly doubt you're gonna have issues.
Of course, ANYTHING I have is up for grabs in the family. If this Lavender turns out to be killa, I'm sure there will be care packages for the peeps in need.
I did crack some SoGouda earlier on...unfortunately I didn't have my game on...and the environmentals were way off for beans...and they tanked.
But that happened with all the other beans I cracked at the same time.
I shoulda' not rushed it when I came back from the 'dam.
Now I've got my brains warmed up and there's no difficulty getting stuff rolling. FYI: don't start beans in rockwool. You have to be especially careful or they'll push themselves out and die like fish out of water....very lame.
Go right for the plushy soil or coco...works like a charm every time.

GDK: Just wanted to let you know the the way into F.U.C.K.E.M. as Kallen eluded to is to show off your wares wide and far...feel free to post your pictures here even if you want.
Europe as far as I know is fair game because Kallen himself is from there and he's F.A.M.I.L.Y...
As far as getting "fucked", I'd say Kallen is referring to the "Elephant Gang-bang" that we make new recruits go through....LOL. Of course you'll know more as you apply...LOL.

Right on access! I think you nailed it on the head about Soma's gear. I think the price is a big factor that keeps them on the shelves longer, but also that maybe people aren't as good at cracking beans as they think they are. I know for me, it is a patience thing, I just need to let them be and they do just fine. Whenever I start beans and try to baby them they always die. Anyway, only heard bad things about germ rates, not the quality. Had a buddy that met Soma, said he was a great guy with a lot of knowledge and generosity. People always try to take advantage of people like that. Good luck with the Lavender.

Well that sounds fair guys. But judging from yall pics, its not gonna be an easy task..ill do my best tho. I aint got too many threads here due to the fact that i was incarcerated for some time during my membership here, and lots of other factors that kept me from growing..hell i wasnt even supposed to now, but the pressure got to me and i just had to borrow a tent from a bro until my larger room is finished...still in the planning phase of constructin a 5-6k flower room, with adjacent 1200w veg/mom room. Should be finished over the summer.
But i do have a outdoor thread and a qwiso thread, usin en elbow of purple outdoor buds. As for the tent..heres how its lookin atm...well actually i removed 10 or 11 males last night, so ima regroup the remaining ladies as soon as the last of the males are removed.

Im growin from seed and i started this one on 12/12 to try it out. Ill remove the sexiest ladies for mom selection and let the rest flower out. i started with 60 beans under the 600w hps and i expect that number to be cut in half once males and runts are removed. SOG style in 6 10gallon styrofoam boxes, using 100% organic dirt as medium. Strains are: SensiStar x Skunk#1, Hashplant, Apollo11, Trainwreck and SDxOG. Im not sure whether its the age of the beans or what, but it seems the old TW and A11 seeds produces mostly males. Had 5 of each and i think i have 3 females left...sucks!....I know these pics aint F.U.C.K.E.M. worthy, but ill be sure to show off, as soon as there is something to show lol..

Kallen: I was in Amsterdam last year brotha.....right around March. The REAL question is: am I going to Amsterdam THIS year...
Well, you already know the answer to that...if I am, I'm hooking up with my European brotha' from anotha' motha! How could I possibly visit the European continent again without at least letting my fellow F.U.C.K.E.R. know? That simply wouldn't happen...especially with you posting pictures of giant hash bricks. Plus I wouldn't mind hitting that haunted castle we were talking about all baked or trippin!

The problem is that I've got the worst work schedule right now. I tried to allocate time between the 20th and the 30th of April to do so, but now it appears as if it's all just a 50-50 shot that I can swing it. We chose that time because the little lady is free. Now it turns out I'm the limiting factor. If I can get away, it'd probably be for 5 days or less.

The pros: from what I hear everything is dirt cheap regarding travel and hotel pricing due to the economic global crisis.
The cons: time is simply a premium for me right now. It's the MOST costly thing to deal with. Plus I got plants in critical stages of development that can't be left for too long without potential problems.

So I have to factor it all in and see what flies. What I can guarantee is that I will most certainly be returning at some point. I simply love Amsterdam and in general; Europe.
Nothing could be cooler to do then chill in some foreign city without a care with some extra spending cash, some bubble hash...good food...great music....insane nightlife. So you can't keep me away for too long. Before I had gone last year I hadn't been on vacation in almost 7 years because of the same B.S. I'm dealing with now. I'm not gonna let it take me that long to return, but I may have to forego plans for the immediate future.

So Kallen, I'd not be concerned about us missing one another. Eventually our paths will cross there. I'll just say that with all the recent posts, I'll be sure to wear a chastity belt before we meet. I'm afraid I might get humped! ROFL!

Nice Access. The lavender is a munchie inducing knockout queen for sure. Watch out for mold on her, she is REALLY dense and can trap some moisture in her buds if you're not careful.

Yeah Lap, that's a good point. I considered that when I was foliar feeding her earlier on. I cut that out because I wanted to curtail mold development and because it was giving me "burn" spots on the leaves....you can see a bit of leafcurl also because this gal appears sensitive to a bit more nutrient.
I wanted to give her a boost because she looked like she needed a bit of nitrogen. She shares a common reservoir with other strains that are doing well with the regimen and I don't want to take their levels up any higher....hence the foliar feed.
It takes me a run or two to dial in a strain. I have another Lavender in there that's markedly smaller and doesn't show the same sensitivity.....I'll have to run both a few more times and we'll see if they're keepers.
