LOL. Of course you silly F.U.C.K.E.R.!!! I'm still growing...
That's something I wouldn't stop unless forced to. I've been so damn busy with getting back to work as of late that I haven't snapped any pictures.
I'll get rolling again when I drop some new gals into flower...
I also promised Tona that I'd get on cracking those Happy Brother x Chemdog beans....
Plus, the vaporizer I just bought has fried my damn brain silly. It's hard to get motivated when you can't get off the couch....ROFL.
Point taken though. Gonna have to brush off the cam. and get snappin!

Well FAM. I got a bunch 0of plants under the 1k right now. I am really diggin the 1k veg deal. I am sure you guys are tired of hearing me say it but... 1k veg is the shit! These fuckers are growing like.. well... WEEDS! I hope that blooming big plants will reward me with big yields.

I am going to get a few of these buckets going soon. I really wanna try a few Chem plants in em since the chem is sposed to like the mineral nutes. I topped that sumbitch a shit load of times so I can get a good amount of clones from her.

Hey cellar, he's probably vaporized. If he could even make it to the computer he would probably just stare at it and drool. lol

You're ALL right...I've been slipping...and yes, it's because of the Vaporizer first and foremost....and secondarily because of my work schedule.
Honestly it's more vape than work. That should be testament alone that it's a worthwhile purchase..
It takes ordinary stoners and turns them into mega-stoners with the intellect of a vegetable.
Gonna take some pictures in the next few days....right now at work...not much time to talk

F.U.C.K.E.M.!!!

a few pics of my little one.... I could really use some help getting this macro thing worked out... I was a bit rough with the plant when transplanting it and I think I laid it on it's side (both sides) in some spilled nute water, hence the yellow spots and the burns on the bottom leaves. I measured it and it's standing proudly at 1 inch after 14 days... I get little whiffs of it though and it smells G O O D :smoke:

I know this is uber ghetto in comparison to what you guys are doing, but it's all I can get away with right now... better than nothing :nanana:

Foothills: I'd suggest getting a tripod of some sort. The ability to stabilize the image plays a big role in obtaining macro images.....I rarely get anything good when just holding the camera in my hands...
While on a tripod, I can get a nice zoom and the macros come out stylin...
Outkastt: OMG! So good to have you here....hope everything is going well and that you're recovering from your surgical interventions. This is where at least some of the F.A.M. have been hanging since we got hit over the head with a massive dose of "FREE SPEECH"....ROFL...albeit a "nominal" form of it, but it is what it is.

For the rest of you: Upon Core's urging, I did skulk into my grow to shoot some pictures. After snapping a few, they were not the "quality" I would hope to display. This is a direct result of the thrip infestation I've had for a few months. I initially sought to control them with biological predators, but apparently that didn't work out well. I was reluctant to use chemicals because I couldn't do everything I wanted to at once....if I sprayed the veggies and moms and clones...that would still leave the flowering wide open for infestation because there are plants way too far developed to spray. Additionally, after applying my biological predators (Thrip predators, Green Lacewings and Pirate bugs) I didn't want to hit them with chemicals and kill the beneficial insects off. Now it seems I have no choice. When I pull the next few plants I have at the end of this week, I'm gonna go spray crazy with Spinosad. That should put the kibosh on these F.U.C.K.S. once and for all. These little bastards have really impacted my projected yield and the general health of the plants. Enough is enough, it's time to put my foot in their respective microscopic asses.
Avid worked great on spider mites, although it made me sick to my stomach for days. I'm hoping this Spinosad stuff isn't too harsh....but does the job.

hey Access, I DO have a rather expensive tripod that I picked up a few years ago and these were taken on the tripod, I just can't seem to get the camera to focus if it's any closer than about 20 inches... mebbe I need to turn the auto focus off?

Yeah, autofocus can be a bit tricky to work with....
I'd attempt to make sure there was adequate lighting on the object you want to photograph....this way the autofocus has a bit more to work with. There are a few threads here and there about taking good macros...I'd do a quick search in the active threads for "macro" or some variant on that. Should be a good read. Alot of stuff related to SLR cameras, but definitely some pointers for every type of setup.

GL w/ the thrips, Accessndx. :ying:

(IME, FWIW, I targeted the larve in the soil and broke their reproductive cycle...2 wks later= no thrips...)

Lemme know if you want the not too gory details. :D

Yeah, details are always appreciated Peat. I have been putting off dealing with this problem the right way for too long. It's impacting my ability to put out the best that I can, and that's unacceptable. I know Cocktail Frank stated that Spinosad works (maybe he used another brand name?)...and a few others shared the sentiment.
Worst possible case scenario: I cut back all flowering and take the fight to the Moms. I had to do that when I had spider mites way back....
I couldn't effectively flower with those little bastards. Avid did a number on em' all...but I wouldn't smoke or consume anything that hadn't gone through at least another generation of growth after spraying...
So the Moms had to be cut as clones, and the clones had to be grown up into new moms...all the time not flowering. Everything was cleaned and stripped down to the bare essentials. That tactic worked.

What bugs me (pun intended) is I still don't know how I got these thrips...
I have no outside animals near the grow. I don't come in from the outside into the same area either without changing....
There's no way I could have cross contaminated these gals....it's very odd.

Well, these F.U.C.K.S. have met their match. I've been all "zen-like" and letting nature take its' course with the biological predators...SCREW THAT! I'm taking the fight to these bitches....I'm gonna be up in their microscopic grills 24/7 with the right ammo. They're gonna rue the day they ever started munching on my gals. When they're finally stripped of all hope, and their lives seem imminently over....I'm gonna start torturing them....waterboarding, Neil Sadaka records, reading them haiku...the WORKS! Say goodbye mofos!

lol access....sorry for your problems! Unfortunately stripping EVERYTHING and re cloning the moms is the only 100% guarantee to work.
I'm not at area 51 right now, but Ill see what the stuff I use is called. For foliar, I get the pyrethin? I think...the pesticide made for edible plants. I use organicide in the soil, stinks to hell of fish....but you gotta get the whole life cycle. the flying ones, the crwling ones, and the larvae. The organicide will get all in the soil, and spray with pyrethin? stuff.
No guarantees, but it has worked for me.
good vibes

Yeah WT...I don't have soil. I've got hydroton. I've got NO idea how those mofos live in rocks and water....
But I'll tell you that Spinosad apparently contains either a bacteria or some substance produced by bacteria that basically F.U.C.K.S. the thrips in the ass big time. I can spray it at least on the surface of the hydroton, but I expect to be soaking the reused hydoton with it also.
I'm not actually gonna break down everything. I'll have plants that are 1 month into flowering, as well as the rest (moms, clones, veggies, etc.). I should be able to effectively work with that...
If it doesn't work, then I'll consider putting the full brakes on the flowering stuff. From what I understand, this stuff is as potent as Avid, but for thrips. Avid is no joke...hoping this turns out to be the same.
