Hey all. I've been browsing around this site for a while but been too paranoid to post since OG went down. Anyways, S.W.I.M. is in the middle of his first real indoor grow; he did one grow of Bogglegum before this but his 3 surviving plants all ended up male. This time around, he started more seeds and now has 2 Aks, 2 JHs and 2 WRs, plus one of gypsy's original mystery mix. They are at day 27 or so of flowering ATM.

Some are a bit tall, but because he started out with 21 and ended up with 7 females from seed, he couldn't train any of them before sexing, and is now stuck with some big christmas-tree-style plants. However, he's hoping they will yeild well anyway, and welcomes guesses on a final harvest weight. (Note that he believes one of the AK's to be the famed "cherry pheno" based on smell and trichome production)

He would love any feedback, and also was wondering if someone could hazard a guess as to why some of the small leaves close to the main stem are drooping and "canoeing" or "taco-ing" down on themselves (see pics). This is only happening on one or two of the plants (one ak, one jh), and they are all in the same medium with the same watering schedule and same nutes.

Thanks man, yeah that cherry pheno (I hope) AK puts off this spicy cherry funk that's one of the best things I've every smelled. The Jock Horrors so far smell exactly like Jack Herer that I've smoked before, very citrus-cleaner-like smell that's also quite nice.

good stuff..don't know about the canoing....how are the ak's comparred to the othyers as far as height and stuff...ive been told they get quite tall

They're a bit over 3' tall right now, having been put into flowering around 12-14", so they certainly did stretch, but no more than the Jock Horrors did really...they're both just showing their sativa sides a bit, definitely more than the Rhino anyway.

Nobody has any thoughts about the canoing? My boy's kinda concerned about his babies! After all, he raised them from this:

Plants are looking awesome. I just wish I could get some females from the Jock and AK48. Each time I try I get all males or hermies, especially with the AK48. Good work

Yeah well I - er, he, rather - still had like a 2:1 male-female ratio with these seeds, so that's not so stellar. Glad that he started a lot of seeds and could grow them big enough to sex, cuz ending up with all male plants after you've invested so much of your love is a crappy feeling.

Yea??i soaked mine in a bowl full of sensi femaniser..don't know how good it is, they quote 85% females...but then agian......anyone used that shit b4?

cheers soc..i hope i have 3 females, but im not counting on it..3 fems out of my first 3 bagseed babies would be a bit lucky..

Well, I just finished harvesting the AK yesterday, but I've been harvesting in stages, so I already have had ample opportunity to sample some. Of course, these samples only just finished drying and have not been cured yet, but for coming basically straight off the plant, this stuff hits very smoothly and tastes good...I give it like a solid 7 for taste before the cure, and maybe an 8 for potency (leaving room for improvement after the cure). The smell could also improve a little, it doesn't smell much like it did when it was alive right now; at the moment it smells kind of spicy, but not very fruity like it used to. I'm hoping some of the old smell will come back after a long cure. My friends all love it already but I am a perfectionist about this sort of shit.

The high is great. It's very strong but very "up" also...my friend, who is a very regular smoker, said he was almost hallucinating. The scissor hash from it laid my other friend out completely after one bong rip, and I haven't seen this guy that that stoned since high school. Good social weed though, it doesn't make you just veg out and drool on yourself like some strong indicas, you still want to talk to people and be social. No paranoia, very well-rounded high. Overall, I'm very pleased as this makes my first truly successful grow. Let me know what you guys think! Peace and love :joint:











Also, note the hint of purple in that second to last pic; it's much more pronounced in real life, my camera sucks and it doesn't do these buds justice.

Don't know the final dried weight yet, and this is only for part of the harvest, but the big colas that have dried each weigh like 12-16 grams, so that bodes well I think. Also, it doesn't take much at all - not truly one-hit stuff but its close enough.

Also, that's not just the camera flash, they're white because they're covered in trichs. I still can't get over it.
