African photo thread

Hey Txopín-Iruña, too bad about the Congo male going hermie! Did you use all the Congo seeds? Did you find any nice females at all?

The Swazi is Faster to bloom than the DP. I would say about +-80 days for Swazi or less. And 80 and over for the DP. The Dp I just harvested went over 100 days.

I have been wanting to experiment with combining pure Indica genes with my Lnadrace Sativas and making some real hybrids. I though you all might like to see the my first chosen Indica to experiment with. It's a huge fat leafy cola hashplant pheno. The Hashplant, although a commercial strain is still, as far as I believe, a pure bred Indica with it's roots in Pakistan I read?

She has a lovely hashy, sweet roting fruit smell to her with a little coffee undertones. Very sticky, very fast to show and flower and she is super potent with an enjoyable euphoric potent high.

This is my buddys plant from seeds I gave him, which were gifted to me by a Humboldt grower.
I cut her and left 4 budding branches to put her to re-veg. I already pollinated the last fresh white hairs with Congo Black pollen and Hashplant from the same stock to get her in pure seed form.

What you guys think for a specimen?

We took her down a little early as you can see, to try give her a better chance at re-veg.

Hi indifferent. Yea, she is pretty leafy for an Indica. I chose her mostly for her size and smell. My buddy messed up her nute schedule because it was his first grow. Too much Nitrogen late into flower. We took her down early too. Upon inspection, the top ripest part of the cola was forming more acceptable calyx to leaf ratio and density. She's more of an experiment though, with that fat sweet cola. I can see the potential in her..

I think some nice plants could be found in F2's of a cross of her with a heavy yeild landrace Sativa

I would choose to do more serious breeding with a little more wild landrace Indicas though.

Cheers, Ah

Nice male Elmanito! Looks like it should be a nice early sativa.

Welcome dkmonk, and thanks for the contribution.
That looks like a great cross. Is this the first time growing out these genetics? Is it a cross of your own?

Regards, Ah

First time growing anything this Sativa I will get an update pick for you guys soon, they are actual a cross British Hempire made and gifted me.

One is now probably 7ft tall and will probably not finish I plan on cutting one of the two down in November and letting the other one go until it dies or finishes.

there are like a million sub variations on those strains though, especially with swazi

if you dont live in the country the best bet is a seedbank durban poison just so you know what you are gonna get. but to find a pure landrace DP is not the easiest. doesnt matter though coz the hybridized DP is the bomb as well !

African H: Ever thought about hybridysing the landrace sativas with an autoflowering plant? If you could combine the sativa with the LR2 you could be sitting on a "goldmine" ...well maybe not a goldmine but who knows?

i found an old pic of a swazi i grew a few months back, the poor girl battled with spider mites but the plant was quite hardy and managed to get her to about 110 days flowering before i chopped her

Great contributions guys! This thread is really growing with good info and pics now.

Elamnito, Girls are looking lovely man. I'm sure you have harvested that early Lesotho buy now right? What's she like?

That Yunnun Indica is looking very interesting. Can't wait to see her in more full budding.
Ghanianan sativa looks great too. What has she been crossed with as I see seeds in the pic?

Mota De Dios, Nice Angolese x Meao Thai. Those leaves look very Thai influenced to me but then again I don't know how the Angolan's leaves look.
Has she started flowering yet? Is the Angolan a red variety like Angola Roja?

Sweet pics Old Boots! Can you explain a bit about the Canadian Sati? She looks right at home here. Great Swaz pic too!

Regards, Ah

Here are my Congo Black males so far. 3 look good, the tall thin leaf one I'm waiting to see. I got 2 normal, pretty late to show males. Females also take a while to show. But I managed to get 2 early males too, and one each of the 2 phenotypes. The thin leaf early male is so far very productive.

Fat leaf phenos far right and left. Thin leaf phenos the 2 in the middle bottle.

Fat leaf pheno has very beautifull and interesting leaves.

And here is my only female so at the moment. She is of the thin leaf pheno.
