I spent a little bit of money today....

First I picked up some Outdoor Cali Bud froma good buddy of mine. While I was there we took some bong rips, then smoked some tastey skunk out of the Volcano

Then I stopped by the local head shop, and talked to my buddy there about getting some glass blown. It looks like the idea of using the top half of the Gerome isn't gonna happen but its all good. I am gonna get a brand new custom piece blown, glass on glass, about 12-16" tall, beaker base, with some nice color, and a few marbles for around $150. I also cleaned up my sherlock and dropped it off. It will be fixed by tomorrow afternoon, and it will be nice to have that piece back.





Then I hopped on over to Ebay, and a few clicks later I am the proud owner of a Vapor Doc ceramic element vaporizer, It is gonna get broken out as soon as I harvest these afghani beauties.....

20 days and counting down until harvest....It is gonna be sweeet

Day 38

Day 38

Today is day 38, 18 days left until harvest.

Things are looking really good, the smell is getting stronger, and it is starting to get a bit of a spicy undertone to it, sort of like black pepper mixed with eggnog

This week I bumped up the amounts of greenfuse bloom stimulant, and I mixed the pbp bloom & soil bloom 1/2 and 1/2. I am trying to cut down on the amounts of nitrogen some, next week they are going to get just the soil bloom, and none of the regular bloom.

I am hoping that the buds will swell up and not put on a whole lot more leaves. It makes it easier to trim that way, but on the other hand, the more leaves, the more bubble hash I get in the end



















As you can see, the buds are good sized but they aren't massive, Keep in mind that there are somewhere between 16-22 tops per plant. This is the first time I have done a scrog, and I must say I am pretty impressed with the results, I think if I had it all to do again however I would have vegged for another week or so.

I went and picked up my sherlock from the shop yesterday afternoon, I actually like it a lot better, he flattened the glass down around the carb, and made it thicker so it is nicer to hold, and hopefully it won't get chipped again


I cleaned up my other pipe, it was pretty nasty sinse it has been my primary piece for a couple of months, I am gonna put it away until I need it again

I mixed up new water today, they got pbp soil bloom and no regular bloom, to cut the nitrogen levels, and boost the PK slightly, I also bumped up the amounts of greenfuse and big bloom and EJ bloom

I am very happy with the way things are going, I imagine that the buds should get around 25-35% bigger before they are done, I can't wait to see...

I also got my Vape from the ups man on monday, I was gonna save it until I harvested but....ya right. I really like it and I am getting the hang for how it works. It rips for sure

Buds are looking very nice. I also thin out the leaes on my E&F grows. 2 days before the 5th week I remove all the large fans. Then do the rez change the 1st day of the 5th week. At this time is when I add the high PK foods. I've always seemed to have a larger harvest doing this. Looking forward to the final pics.

The buds are starting to look really awesome, they are fattening up but not really getting any taller which is fine with me.

I mixed up the final ripening solution today, based on PBP soil bloom, with no added cal-mag+, and elevated levels of FF BigBloom, EJ Bloom, and GreenFuse Bloom Stimulant (all of these are organic BTW)

They STINK SO FREAKING STRONG I took my ozone generator off of the timer all together and it is running all the time now, struggling to keep up. If you are trying a stealth grow, then this is not the strain for you.


The trichomes are about 70% cloudy and the rest clear, I think they should be about perfect in 9 days, I like about 15-20% amber. I am planning on giving them a 5 day flush, with a water change halfway through, and then 36hrs of dark before the chop

Nirvana Afghani was one of my first serious grows. I was REALLY happy with the end product. In fact, still one of the heavier indicas I've smoked. That stuff rocked me right to sleep. Enjoy the results of your good work!

Great lookin pics SmokeAndBeKind. I have friend that recently started some Afghani x Morocans from Nirvana, your pics got me fired up to go over there and see how things are coming. I ended up making my own carbon air scrubber, and I'm sure plenty of people can attest to the value of the can carbon filter. I found it the only thing to beat the serious odor makers. Best of luck, I'm sure you'll be enjoying the harvest soon.

In preparation for this update, I took a monster hit of some Pez out of the vape that made me cough like crazy and made my eyes water I didn't realize that vape could do that...

The ladies are approaching the end, this is the last week of their lives, they have done well

I have been topping off the res with plain distilled water as they drink it down, Saturday I am going to change out the water with distilled, and start the flush, then I will change it out with clean water again monday, Tuesday night after the light goes off it will be unplugged for 36hrs of dark until the ladies get the chop on thursday morning.

The circulating fan was on the same timer as the light, I plugged it straight in this morning so it will run 24hrs to keep the humidity and temps low so these babies frost up good, and maybe get a little bit of color.

I am getting some leaf curl for some reason, Im not too sure what is causing it, and it doesn't seem to be effecting them so I am not too concerned. You can see the curl at the edges of the leaves, on the serrations

















They have been losing some of their green but it is a very slow process, hopefully the 5 day flush will help with that. I must say however, I am sure they will taste great.

That is correct, and I am glad I made the switch. It is alot of fun (its sort of like a big science experiment) and maintainance wise it is either equal or less maintanance than soil, IMHO. I dont have to deal with soil, buying or disposing of it, transplanting, etc. Plus I have way more control over conditions this way. I seriously doubt I would ever go back to soil.

Day 54

Day 54

Today is day 54 of flowering, the plants have been flushing since saturday (i changed the res out with plain distilled water) however.....I think that there was a lot of crap (literally) stuck in my filter bag, exxentially brewing up a tastey tea every time the sprayers ran, I changed out the water again today with plain distilled, so hopefully they will get flushed out pretty good, they haven't really lost much color so in the future I will have to keep that in mind.

They don't really look much different so sorry, no new bud shots

However, I will share some pictures of my latest project, First up, my new "stealth" veg/clone cabinet, The clone chamber is on the top, and contains four 2' flourescents (80w total) and is exhausted by a 4" radio shack axial fan, it is still a work in progress obviously, but I hope to have it running in the next few days, The bottom chamber will eventually house (most likely) a 70w hps with a 70w MH mounted together in a cool tube, not sure about the fan yet.




I also finished my cheapo-aero-cloner, made from a clear plastic sorage container, painted with alternating layers of white and black paint for light proofing. It is powered by a whisper air pump and two 10" air stones






And what are these?


They are to hold these BOG L.S.D. babies


I chose 6 seeds with my eyes closed


Then soaked them for 24 hrs


Then they were put onto these cotton pads and into a plastic bag ontop of a heat pad (dont use paper towels, they rise in PH over time), Here they are after soaking for 24 hrs, and then after being on the pads for 16, and 24 hours







I have never done it this way before so I hope it works out alright, My plan is to let the sprouts get about an inch long, and then put them into the cut pieces of hose until they have a big enough stem to sit in the cloner neoprenes. maybe somebody has some experience with this style?

I must say I have some new found respect for Nirvana at this point. I've never really been much of a fan - now I'm having second thoughts. Excellent job.
I'm a little surprised about cutting off so many fan leaves early on, though.
It's been scientifically proven that removing large amounts of totally healthy fan leaves slows growth, as each sun leaf is an individual "food-factory"... but I can't see where or how it hurt you! I don't know anything about SCROG or SOG technique, so maybe that has something to do with why you did it? I always assumed that smaller plants like those wouldn't have shade issues... but since I have no experience with this style... maybe I should just shut up lol.
Again, beautiful looking girls. Can't wait to see the end plants & the chop!

I trimmed so many leaves to open up airflow and more light, I don't know firsthand a whole lot of details about pros and cons but I think things would have been way too overgrown if I hadn't

I just killed the 6 l.s.d seedlings which really, really sucks, I guess its good I only started 6 though and not all 12, my method probably could have worked but I put them into the bubbler way too soon and they dried up, oh well lessons learned.....

I am going to just start them in the oasis cubes again instead of risking killing the other 6

edit: I put 6 i killed back into a shot glass of water to see if they will revive, well see what happens

The ladies are getting chopped tommorrow, I unplugged the light last night to give them 36hrs or so of dark.

It has been way cold here, and the temps in the bloom chamber have been getting down as low as 52. They don't seem to mind it though, I will probably get a heater for the reservior before my next grow because I think the water has been too cold (ranges from low 50's to low 60's)









I replanted the 6 lsd seeds that I screwed up, and germed 6 more, along with 3 purple bagseed. I am hoping I salvaged at least a couple of the 6 i screwed up, but I should be fine even if none make it.

hello,does anyone know what that is smokeandbekind uses as his scrog netting?I wanna build a scrog setup with pvc like his,ive pm'ed him but seems like he is on holiday.
