Aeroponic Girl Scout 600 Watt LED grow

How is you ph and ec? I think hps is better then led

P.H is 5.9 and EC is 0.6 /300 ppm
I do agree with you about the Hps, I just like experimenting and figured since it is lower energy cost and lower temperatures why not. Think I should just go ahead and buy a 600w Hps bulb for my previous hydrofarm fixture/ ballast?
I do have a mobile AC unit I can move back into the tent if I do go that route.

Week 6 Veg

Couple photos of the GirlScout this morning.
Started freezing 1 gallon water jugs to keep the res cool and temps have been staying between 68 and 70 degrees now.

Enjoy.

Water chillers are a must have for any hydro application IMO... Honestly just trying not to be a jerk because you seem excited, but a lot of your roots already show signs of damage from the temps or pathogens in your water.

Aero is great because the high oxygen, and still running 5-20ml litre of H2O2 is going to help but nothing will stop root damage as soon as res goes over 72* in my experience, plant will look good for a while longer then crap out...

I wouldn't even try hydro again without res chillers and air conditioning.... But yeah 70* is my safe line... Good luck though! I had fun learning and it all applies to all max yield growing so no loss in that department either... Just maybe throw a soil container in as a back up.

Thanks for your input about water chillers.
I just froze multiple 1 gallon water jugs to put in the res and change it out 3 times a day, temps have been staying at 68- 70 degrees.

That is a great temporary fix! You should see some improvement in the colour of your roots, I would still recommend running hydrogen peroxide and a full clean/flush of the system every 5-10 days especially if you see any temp fluctuations up over 72* , that's the magic(maximum without problems) number for safe running IMO.

They do grow fast in hydro though! Fun stuff!

When should I begin flowering?

When should I begin flowering?

How much longer you all think I should wait before going into flowering ?
I was thinking maybe 2 more weeks.

Hello everyone,
Hope you all had a good week. My Girl Scout is looking very happy and healthy and filling out nicely. Here are a few pics after a fresh batch of nutrients.

Enjoy...

Flowering time

Flowering time

Hello again my fellow gardeners!

Here is where we are at,
Bumped the PPM to 800-1100.
Roots have been trimmed so they stay just above the water line.

Your water pump is creating all the heat. Move the pump outside the reservoir, pipe the pump into the reservoir, with a return to the pump. You could use a much smaller water pump, like a 132 gph or even a 66 gph pump would meet the needs of one sprayer ->http://www.hydrogalaxy.com/hydropon...8S3Ie0lnRVaMrbAeUag-AkSyVHuw1NeEpIaAtDz8P8HAQ . I use clone spinners 360 degrees-> http://www.horticulturesource.com/p...m7TWaLqu6Tvm8sTMm4UFMYV1wlSU-g039AaAkjF8P8HAQ to do the job in a smaller bucket -> http://www.homedepot.com/p/Leaktite-2-gal-Bucket-2GL-WHITE-PAIL/202264039 . I change the reservoir weekly. If your reservouir is heating up, use some cooler inserts from a portable cooler from Dick Sporting goods. good luck peace.

Yeah i've been freezing 1 gallon bottles with water and changing them out 2-3 times a day for now until i design one where the pump is outside the res. But notice the pearly white roots? seems to be doing well. Water temps stay below 70 degrees. Tent stays between 73-77. I will make sure this system im working on has the pump on the outside. Thanks for the input bruh !

I have been doing 10 Ml of Gro, Mico and Bloom per gallon of R/O H2O for this stage with 5 ml CalMag, 5 Ml Diamond Nectar and 5 ml Floracious Plus per 5 gallons. My ppm is 1100 currently with that mix and after 2 days it dropped to 800. Im still trying to figure out the perfect blend on nutrients for this strain "GSC" and see what she likes best. And i would like to try and get 3-4 Oz's with a nice percentage of THC 20%+ would be nice and would like any input from experienced growers who can help me get the dankest buds possible with what i have.

Thanks =)

Thanks again for your advice, i have been doing the flush every week and using hydrogen peroxide daily. I should have a new system by this weekend with the pump on the outside of the main res and have it drain back to the res with the pump so there is never standing water in the root chamber.

Fuckin look at those beautie roots! Good work man!

Forgot about the pump think but that is a great free or cheap fix good for s couple degree's for sure!

Sounds like you got a good handle on her now, can't wait to see what ya come up with for next run!

beautiful white roots. I love em. peace. I used to use those sport bottle freezers for the portable coolers to keep my res cool. Then I took the pump out and the temp went way down. Most pumps the size you are using have a nipple adapter for the inlet to be a hose inlet and use two hoses inlet/outlet, set it on a block on rubber and fun times. I use large and small buckets with 360 clone spinners and small submersible pumps and get those lovely white roots, as well. enjoying your grow. subscribed. peace.

Thanks Bud,

Its my first time doing any type of grow like this so im learning something new everyday. But i do plan on having the pump separate from the res as soon as i get my day off this Sunday. Here are some pics taken a few minutes ago.

Hey man, i dont think the plant really liked it in the beggining. I think would have been better if you had added some spray nuzzles thru the side wall of the container, some 4 or 6.

Are the pumping working constantly or with time feeds?
