Acapulco Gold

I have been vaping some outdoor Acapulco Gold grown outdoors in Colorado. The seeds came from a seedbank not sure which one.

I keep going back to it, It's good stuff. Very -clear- not real trippy or powerful but extremely clear headed. I have been mixing it with indica dominate strains to deepen the high, it blends well with most anything.

It came out great for outdoor in CO, the buds are about half the size of a thumb and dense. I would love to try some of this indoors and get some more crystals and flavors out of it.

Just had a little more sample of a pheno. So nice, gotta say it is a better high than the Bodhi AG. They have to be related though. The Panama Red from Snow is a winner too. I am damn lucky, hehe.

I found these pics (they are not mine -they are from a member of another forum) of Barneys Acapulco gold. Photographed at 7 weeks, it looks like a quality sativa in my opinion.

I grew AG in the nineties and it had some distinctive features, the like of which I haven't seen in a plant since!

Most notably, the fluffy pistils were snow-white and the plant's conical shape made it look like a xmas tree partly covered in snow...

I'd rather say it looks like a quality NLD/BLD hybrid actually, but I guess most people don't need fluffy weak hermie prone stuff in their lives.
Judging by the leaves and pistils I'd say almost 100% sativa and the description of the high is in keeping with that. I don't care for the fluffy weak hermie prone stuff myself. .:)

If there was no description I would guess it's a NL5xHaze or something similar. Looks very worked and nice.

Cheers

I have had the same problem with Thai and many other strains. I don't understand why people are willing to pay more for feminized seeds when you usually get a lot higher rate of females than males in common seeds.

As far as I know Barney's Acapulco Gold is not a 100% sativa/NLD.

I have read Bodhi's AG grows extemely fast and crazily.

The pics aren't mine. They are from this web https://gramrix.com/p/1718427666501157121_4837172495

I've decided to do as close to an open pollination as I can and will reverse both females, mix the pollen, and hit both females. They have been on a 9.5/14.5 schedule since june first and one is all bud sites, the other is FINALLY stopping her stretch.

So it looks like one long season sativa and one extremely long season sativa.

Yeah, I know making them both studs might be overkill. I don't usually even like fems, but this will keep all the genes in play. Even the genes at the sex allele for both plants.

A few pictures. I still reckon this is about as close to 100% sativa as you are likely to ever see.

AG2 is the shorter flowering plant. She now has a very nice lemony smell. Most of her fan leaves have already been shed. I'm running flower at 9.5/14.5, so I can't really tell you what flowering times would be like under a more standard 12/12. These pics are 2 days shy of 9 weeks under the 9.5/14.5 schedule.

Most of the pictures show the AG2. The one labelled 0009 (the first picture) focuses on AG1 surrounded by the AG2.

Now that I have some actual buds forming, I'd say Green's AG is a dead ringer for my AG2 :shooty:

AG2 also smells of lemons

@green Are you out there?
