Cyclone Larry Hits "The Patch" Hard

Cyclone Larry Hits "The Patch" Hard

It is with great sadness that I report all is not well in the Land of Oz, as a recent Category 5 Cyclone hit the North Queensland coast and travelled inland, wreaking havoc upon the very same area that I had just visited back in February. I can fully understand the hardships these people are facing, as hurricanes are a real problem where I live, although the Australian area affected is fairly remote, making it even more difficult... and much longer to repair the damage and restore power. My heart goes out to all of our aussie neighbors affected by this tragedy, especially my good friend Wallyduck who has lost much of his beautiful garden out in the jungle. At least he and his family are safe and sound... and that is what really matters!

Grow 9 is officially under way as I switched to flower mode 3 days ago, so it won't be too terribly long before the Bud Shack will be having some new budshots! Three of the plant have been bent over for a horizontal grow, while the other 6 remain upright. I am very interested in comparing the yield difference between the horizontal and vertical grows, and am using Wallyducks c99 x Blueberry, GratefulH3ad's G13 Diesel (G13 x ECSD v3) and Head's Deez (G13xNYCD x ECSD v3) in the study. Should be interesting! Now I just need to figure out what I'm going to grow next! :chin:

2buds - So glad you're enjoying the pictures, I took so many I still haven't gone through them all... but I did run across a couple of aussie hawk pictures I thought I'd post tonight. Yes, the damn water pump broke in the veg area, and my cat/plant sitter just barely kept them alive for me. They aren't as pretty as I like, so I haven't bothered to shoot them much since my return, but that will change once the ones in flower start to bloom. :yummy:

longdivision - Thanks for visiting, 2 years worth of pics and posts in a single place... and still going! I'm honored you spent the time to go through them all. Two hours worth of reading eh? WOW!

wallyduck - That bee was pretty awesome... big balls indeed! Hope you like the hawk pics... remember when I asked you to pull over at the hog farm? It was a bit stinky, but the pics were worth it (well, I hope so anyways)!

M O D - Thanks for dropping in... come on by anytime! :D

medicaluser420 - That's why Wally has that electric fence, to keep the Wallaby's out! The problem is they travel in groups, and a small group of hungry roos can strip a patch bare!

XbX - Wally is certainly "rolling" in the bubble isn't he? :yoinks:

for all the folks here is not too bad apart from those that lost their homes , many of us are used to no power and doing it a little hard in the bush , is what its all about ...

your bubble looks more like top quality hash that you get in India or Nepal....if you've seen cherniaks "The Great Books of Hashish" you may see a picture there with loaves of hash from Nepal which look similar to yours....good work man....boy i wish i could get me hands on some!

Baby Buds at the Bud Shack!

Baby Buds at the Bud Shack!

Thanks for sharing your pics from the trip Wally... was such a fantastic time! Truly an adventure of a lifetime, can't wait for our next one!!! :D

Well folks, I finally had a moment to take some pics of the gals currently in flower, so tonight will be the first glimpse of Grow 9 as the plants begin building buds. As a refresher, this run is composed of two different crosses each from Mr. & Mrs. Gratefulh3ad and Wallyduck. This is what we have in flower now:

H3ad Seeds
G13 Diesel (G13 x ECSD v3)
Head's Deez (G13xNYCD x ECSD v3)

Wally Duck Seeds
c99 x blueberry
Pine Orange

Grow 9 has suffered a bit due to lack of care during my Oz trip, but the plants have bounced back well and are now starting to put forth multiple bud sites on what is now day 14 of flower mode. So without too much further ado... here's some baby budshots from the Bud Shack:

G13 Diesel (G13 x ECSD v3)

Head's Deez (G13xNYCD x ECSD v3)

c99 x blueberry

Pine Orange
