Hey everyone, starting my next adventure.

I’ve been searching for A5Hz S1 for quite a while, as I’ve missed the Karma/SHC drop at the time. Fortunately, @Oldman Green was kind enough to trust me with a few of his last ones. Very thankful to you mate, appreciate the opportunity and I’ll try to do them justice!

Starting with 9 seeds straight to jiffies, the germination rate was perfect and in less than 48h 9/9 out. They were on the slow side taking off, and I’ve ran into a few scraggly things:
  • #9 never really took of (she’s currently a stunted 10cm pet, will it grow out of it… who knows?)
  • #8 and #5 are borderline runts, while others show a few “off” traits
Despite, I’ll be keeping them around and flower them first before culling any.

As you can see, the response from the motherplants post re-potting wasn’t the greatest. Slight stress, which is already fading away as they acclimatize. It seems light mix plus a very light blend of organic amendments was too heavy on them. They are very particular about growing conditions, safe to say that already. I’ll be adjusting as I get to know them and even be more cautious.

The cuttings took longer to root than expect, in an adequate environment. Around 12 days to show little root tips. A couple didn’t root in time, so I’ll be doing them in a future cycle.
Sent them all directly to 12/12 as I’ve little headspace for this test-round.

At the same time I was (attempting) to germinate a batch of Nanda Devi from Angus out of RSC, though I failed big time. It was a first one to fail for me in these proportions. Unfortunately I could only get a single seedling to pop out of a 29 batch. After sitting on my preservation fridge for a few months, I decided to give them a go and did the same brainless approach that always yields me the best results: either straight to jiffies or light clean soil, whichever closest. I went with jiffies this time, but fuck did I mess it up. I’ll say I’m not used to germinating seed lots with feral traits (first time doing var. himalayensis), perhaps I should I rinsed them with a hydrogen peroxide solution, sanded them a bit to help with the though shells, freeze them first, but I really didn’t feel like babysitting them too much… as I never do and I’m pretty happy about germination ratios around here. Turns out most probably I fucked it up here.

Let’s all hope she’s a solid female. Massive longshot. 😬

Until the next time, have fun.

The lonely Nanda Devi (top right group pic) and the site after the transplants were finished.

Cool leaf shape on the Nanda Devi!

What are all those bugs? Is it some beneficial insect?
It's a cool leaf trait indeed on that ND.

Although there are quite a balanced few critters running around my soil (like predatory mites, tropical woodlice and springtails), I think what you're commenting on are rice hulls and vermiculite. I blend these in my soil mix as an additional source of silica, mostly though not only.
I'll take a macro when I'm around the camera, so you can see the soil life at work. It's quite a feast.

I just started the 6 I got from Karma. I might make some A5hS2 to have in my vault. I wish I had a bigger pool to look through. I'm curious how yours turn out. Good luck ..:watchplant:
Thanks Hammerhead.

Keep me posted on yours, it would be great to see them. You also ran into a few odd ones showing up to the party?

It's been a long time since I was around a decent NL5Hz cut. Would make me happy to have at least a proper keeper. Unfortunately all I have is this small batch here, same as you. So not many to sift through either.

It's amazing how mich diversity can be found in 69 haze f1 when selfed. Look at piffcoast piff s2 hunt he had at least 8 phenos. I especially like the long petiole weird gap leaves. ×hen it comes to haze A the smooth edged leaves are always my favorite especially the glossy ones. Many times first leaves will be broad bit get narrow and single blade by end of things..haze rules

Hey everyone.

It's D11 since I've sent these rooted clones straight to 12/12.

Most of them are adapting well, besides the A5S1-2 (bottom rom, 2nd from left) that didn't reacted too well to the sudden RH% shift, though she will make it and already showing some vegetative growth. It was not surprising, as she was one of them clones only throwing a couple of tiny root tips across the jiffy.

No pre-flowers yet visible on the A5S1. The rogue Nanda Devi seems to be an early male (top right), unfortunately.

When there's some stigma magic going I'll catch up!

It's a promising one, albeit a bit quirky in veg. Though the serration makes it a standout among the few I have. #6 is the 2nd from left on top row.
5+ 1 runt..
.. .

Thanks for sharing mate. You got yourself a runt too, nice to know. :ROFLMAO: All others looking solid, best of luck.

Hey Piff! Nice to see you around. You always bring those savvy saucy comments that spark things around.
#2 surely displays that long petiole traits you mention, gaps included. Look at that weirdo! (2nd from left bot row).

Keep them coming.

I apply that method also, as it targets exactly what we're looking for after all. Though I don't have particular lean towards the runty types.
Often they provide a superior finished product, but I would think most of as consequence of yield dilution.
Can't know for sure honestly, just my guess. That tendency sure makes my neck itch though.

You're not going to see any flower development until week 6 or 7 of flower.
