Here’s that S1 tonight just after sunset.

Definitely starting to set flower sites.

Nice short intenodal length makes me think this one might be chunky, but she’s got some thin stems.

I’m getting pretty excited for this one and I’ve been reading Tangwena’s cobbling thread!!

Thanks dubi. A handful of organic fertilizer plus a little high P bat guano today. Tidy’d up some lower internal branches after this shot was taken. I’m thinking I’ll probably need to net her but appreciate your thoughts.

She is very branchy. A great trait to pass on. Especially with something like F-13 that is very columnar. It would be easier to select the Malawi leaning pheno’s that way I think.

Daylight with grove background.

I’m also curious with the F-13 expression columnar and relatively slow growth...might there be a explosion of growth in introducing this S1 even though it is also a slower grower?

Welcome Ur Humbl Nr8tor,

Since it is a quite thin stemmed and strongly branched plant, it would be convenient to provide some support, especially during the second part of the flowering, just in case there are strong rains.

It is very easy to recover the vigor of S1 plants or from highly inbred lines like DJ Shorts ones by outcrossing them with totally different genetics, especially with sativas.

Ok dubi, I’ll drive some steaks and add a layer of netting.

Let’s see if my F-13 pollen is viable from the freezer. I’m sure there are many ways you could go with this beautiful Malawi.

All the best to you and the Ace crew.

I have one that looks exactly like this. She is growing tall and I had to crimp her. Very nice plants to grow.

Awesome gladysvjubb. Have you harvested this plant previously or is this your first run with her? I assume grown indoor if you had to train her? I’ve been hearing all sorts of stories about the potency these genetics bring. I’ll plan to take her and process in a few different ways depending on yield. Traditional harvest and jar age, cob and possibly loose under heat/vacuum cure. Maybe even make some hash, press and cure that. Just depends on the yields and how the other plants come together dictating what I ultimately decide to do. And if the F-13 pollen is viable, at least one big branch dedicated to seed.

I can tell you its hot and nearly arid where these are being grown, It should be a great location compared to native.

Here is the story. I have harvested a couple of Malawi. I am a chronic intaker. At first I got a bit psychedelic and it was wonderful. I am smoking it right now and can function perfectly well. One of my friends last week smoked with me and started to hallucinate. I love it. She is a little faster than Zamaldelica.

Thanks for that! I was gifted some pure Zamaldelica around 2010. Not sure from which batch (circa pre ‘10) but haven’t grown them. I’ve also got some Zam x KC and Zam x Ethiopian I’d like to play around with. I’ll definitely try cobbing some of this along with traditional glass aging. Not sure the heavy narcotic side is my cup of tea, but I’m down for a little trippiness.

Well, it’s been crazy hot. 46C/115F at the warmest and the plants got fried pretty hard. This Malawi gets almost full sun and I had to trim quite a number of crispy leaves.

I’d say what stretch there was is over now as flower sites are pretty well set.

The floral structure looks very nice on this plant.

As expected the aromas that exist so far are woody and oily.

I too suspect this has some skunk 1 in it. I grew a fruity pheno that tasted exactly like cantaloupe skunk I mean the same taste 100 percent. And the mandarins pheno is also a skunk pheno I have had skunk hybrids give that flavor

The main thing is the comment from the original grower that ace seeds got this from that one skunk plant stinks more than a field of Malawi ....he grew skunk or else how would he know?

Either way I haven't had anything super strong from Malawi or golden tiger or mal pan I'm a bit disappointed honestly but definitely I do like the stuff it's not bad definitely not skunk 1 dominant and maybe the terps are just similar I don't know but I'm scratching my chin here wondering wtf?
I don't have a problem with it at all I'm just saying I kept getting confused as to what I was smoking
I would say damn that cantaloupe tastes good ....wait a second that's Malawi f2 wtf! I had 8 cantaloupe skunk all same fruity flavor only one Malawi tasted that way Malawi was f2 only Malawi males were used in a previous grow with no skunk plants

Mine is an S1 of the New Killer Malawi and definitely only wood and oil so far. I’ve got an old a partial pack of Afropips Malawi Gold I’d like to explore and maybe a cross between these is in order.

Hi rolandomota,

I have been smoking, growing and breeding with this Malawi line for 20 years and i can confirm it doesn't contain Skunk. I also have grown and smoked a lot of Skunk in my early days.

The fruity Malawi is the Malawi line with better terps but not the strongest. The Malawi Killer phenos are always woody-oily, not pleasantly terpy but with overpowering potency and extremely long lasting effects. These are the phenos you must experience if you want to judge strongest Malawi's potency.

It is with trepidation and excitement that I look forward to this plants effects. I intend to allow full maturity and a nice long cure in order to experience these extreme Malawi Killer effects. It is definitely a woody, oily, work shop aroma as expected given S1. I’m not sensing anything close to skunk whether it be the sweet pheno aromas or the RKS aromas.
