This is the big tree near 14 weeks.Been on water 4 weeks now.
Just wants to pump out a few more pistils. Some nice density in last 2 weeks.
I let her branches droop to keep her away from the lamp.
Very sticky woody smell.Coming down this week though.

Sticky Buds Stay Tuned

2 weeks

2 weeks

Left is f2 from M13 seed.Has a mild woody smell like mom.M13 clone on right of the larger f2.
P1 had much stronger smell,so not sure if this f2 as good.F2 much stronger heavy plant than P1.
The small plant is the same f2 at 2 months old.Put it in a larger pot and it went big.
Root bound now in flower and may give it a larger pot.

Had some thin stretchy stuff from f2 as well.Prefer these heavy set malawi over the taller thin ones.

Good Day :tiphat:

So I need to admit something... I have totally stunted my Malawi FEM.

I started her in a micro Hempy with the plan of transplanting into a larger auto Hempy. I had problems with PH and I don't know what else, but the end result was that it just was not growing in the little Hempy. I ended up ripping her out of the little Hempy and transplanting her into the auto Hempy before she was ready and then popping a couple of SOA (Seeds of Africa) Malawi Gold as a backup.

The Malawi Gold have been strong and very vigorous. Much bigger and wider leaves compared to the narrow Ace Malawi. The Ace leaves are still only about 3mm wide. Very fine leaves. She is growing now that I have the PH fixed and feeding regularly.

I have topped all three of them now. The SOA Malawi didn't even blink. They immediately started producing branches. The Ace Malawi hesitated for a day or two, but has started to grow some branches.

I may be wrong by doing this but I have had them on 18/6 lighting while I tried to get them going. Now that they are showing growth I'm going to need to flip them to help control the growth. Space is a major issue for me.

I'll have to get a couple of pics up.

Has anyone had problems with a badly stunted Malawi? I completely blame myself for this one. I'm just wondering if there are specific things that can cause this. That way I can avoid it in the future grows.

anything other than Aces version is a nightmare indoors; usually a never ending flower.
Pure sativas prefer simplicity ime.

Tjo,
I am so sorry to see such a poor excuse for a plant. You really messed it up.
:) LOL

Mine truly is stunted though. It is 4" tall with 10 branches after being FIM'd once. And that is after I popped it January 18th. That is well over 6 weeks.

Stunted.

It was not intentional. It is really small and I was trying to just top the leader without losing the branches I already had. That's fine with me. I'll just keep working with it.

My only concern is that it will have been stressed so much that it will hermy. That would be a tragedy. After all this time and effort. The two Malawi Gold that I have will make up for it but I would rather stick with the Ace Malawi and cull the other two.

you sir make my jaw drop. to see the denser pheno's just mindf*cks me with the question of how is that fully sativa, though i am fully aware it is! im so stoked on this one and you grew it great! i cannot wait to give it a go, its looks so promising.

P.S- i refer to "promising" meaning that it looks so good to smoke, to have a psychedelic sativa grown that well, it looks lik it would be very easy to send one on a sacred journey :) props man

As usual, looks nice Zanddar.
The F2 is twice the size of the cut, did you veg both the same? Is the high the same or different?
Nice job.

Hello and thx RandyCalifornia.

The mom was a shorter bush than the rest.
Bit slower to grow in height, but girth was better.

Clone vegged for over 2 months.Similar as f2,but in a 3 gal.

F2 was 3 months old before flower.F2 has thicker, stronger branches.
Rootbound when placed into flower and then moved into a 5 gal.
F2 is from seed and we will have to wait for the other details later.:smokey:

Found many interesting plants in the f2 seed and will dig into them later for sure.

Have a great day.:)

Hi Zanddar,

This is best daughter i've found from the fruity pheno offspring you reproduced :)

She's heavily pollinated and still 4-5 weeks to finish but already surpassing the malawi killer mum in resin production, she is also more compact in size, slighty faster flowering and with bigger flowers than killer malawi. I also have found other very interesting compact, fast flowering individuals with improved sweet fruity but poisonous aromas. Great job
