My bulk res's have been lasting me every 2 days, so ive just been mixing fresh. They are 100 gallon res's. It mixes perfectly clear when I do it this way.

I use a 300 w aquarium heater to heat up the water before mixing Jacks for the stock solution.i dont have as much precipitation like before.

I recently started using 450 grams per gallon jug of jacks. After talking to jr peters. No more precipitation ever! I still use 580 grams of calnit per jug.

Why that low?are you running 10 or 20 ml a gal??

When I was using 880/gallon I kept getting gunk and lots of solids floating around in the jug. I spoke with a rep from jr peters who stated not to use over a pound per gallon. I use around 32 mls/gallon of jacks for an ec of 1.2. Another 18 mls of calnit for ec of .77. Epsom .22 for a total around 2.1 ec.

Got you,i do get gunk after 2 weeks of mixing 880 grams of jacks in 1 gal,it looks like straight up Chinese egg drop soup.

Or it wasn't mixed well enough to dissolve completely into solution... I always leave air space in my concentrate jugs when mixing, to create more agitation. Then I top it off to the amount of liquid I need, and shake it some more

The gunk is probably a mixture of undissolved dry nutrients, and precipitates formed from chemical bonds

What exactly is that gunk? Is it bad for the plants? I've experienced the same issue as well.

I don’t know tbh, literally after 2 weeks gunk starts building up .It could be that the shit is not completely dissolved.I started using aquarium heater to warm up the water before mixing,it seems to help a bit.But i still ended up with gunk in like a month later, but this was in a 2 gallon mix which takes longer to use than 1.I am going to try mixing one gal instead this time.

On another note isn’t there some other way to mix powdered nutes like sometype of an industrial mixer or something?.Because how do greenhouse and agricultural growers mix their powered nutes??

I don't think Jack's has a preservative in it, so you're probably seeing some kind of mold or growth. Keep it cool and you won't have that problem.

Pros use electronic stirrers to mix powders into solution. I put hot water in a stock pot, put it on my stirrer, drop the powdered nutes in, and come back a half hour later to perfectly mixed nutes.

Its actually called a magnetic stirrer... they cost anywhere from 65 to 1000 on amazon, make sure you get one that is either adjustable or rated at 60 hz frequency if you are in the US

Think I'm just gonna try eric2028's method of 450 grams per gallon and see how that works out. I don't have hot water or a cool spot out in my shop.

Mine definitely looked like mold. I'll try making a weaker stock since I don't have an overly cool place to store it in.

You ll notice a night/day difference. Just be sure to use ro or distilled water.

I’d like to hear everyone’s recipes besides the 321. Specifically for clones, veg, bloom. Thanks in advance!

I grow everything in tap water with 3.7g of Jack's 5-12-26 and 2.5g of CalNit per gallon. Freshly rooted clones all the way through flush. No need for Epsom, most tap has plenty of sulfur and magnesium.

I'm on the edge. Of what I'm not sure.

Any of you guys make the switch from Jacks to Greenleaf Mega Crop?

I tried it and feel the same way about it as I do about Veg and Bloom....I wanted to like it but still like jacks better for its versatility ,price and healthier looking plants.

That said I do like adding a couple hundred ppms of it to my veg and flower feed (for the first 4 weeks). Its gets the aminos, humic/ fulvic and chitosan I want in the mix.
