i have a question for you: are you going to be able to fill that big blue rez up while its up there? garden hose i guess? also, are you going to flip it on to top the dwc rez or are you thinking abt doing a float valve to fill it up? cant wait for the next update.

I don't know if you have heard of Daltron (RIP)? He has an excellent journal in another growers forum. He learned from big toke and like you, made a cleaner better version. If you haven't checked it out before your eyes will pop out when you see his tree's.

Texasluv - Good point on the reflectors. I got them for a smaller grow originally but ended up going bigger. Gonna have to hope for the best.

Trouble - Always a pleasure to have my good bud swing bye for a visit. You're right, need to stop hitting the vape so much! I'm still trying to germ an AB x PD. The TW x PD is a voracious little starter. It is loaded with vigor. The AB x PD seeds on the other hand seem to be little lazy asses. I'll finesse those gals to grow...you'll see.

GotVape420 - Hey my Texan Brother, Gonna use a garden hose with the Mr Clean DIY RO Filter attached to fill that top rez up. My tap runs 250-300 PPM without filtration. Too many trace elements and metals to use. Also the Ph is a bit too alkaline unless filtered.
I have a valve in the DWC rez so that the Blue H2O rez will just auto-top the other rez as the water level drops. Think Lazy!

BioBoi - First off, funny name, gonna have to go listen to some Outkast now. I think I came across Daltron's thread a while back. I'll have to go find it again now that you mention it. This is definitely going to be a bio setup. I only want to change the rez once, at final flush.

NZjay - You are still my hero. I can't wait to see that final harvest you get. Great pic skill too BTW. I'm taking lessons from the master.

I think I have finally narrowed down my problems with the ballasts I have. 1st problem was buying these online. But, no regrets there because I got them for 1/3 the cost of a new one.
I believe I have a faulty coil in one of my ballasts. I have checked everything else and it seems that the coil is the culprit. Everytime I plug in either the 120V or the 240V cord it flips the breaker...meaning a short or whatever.

Here are the pics. You be the judge. Any knowledgeable advice welcomed. I am now going to look for a replacement coil. No idea where to find them. Any suggestions in that area would be welcomed as well.

These are 2 Hydrofarm Xtrasun switchable (HPS/MH) dual-power (120V/240V) 1000 Watt Ballasts.

Thanks Teddy. I contacted hydrofarm to see about getting a replacement coil and core. Hopefully it will turn out ok. I'm going to test everything else today. Being one light short won't hold me back for long.

That's Luang Prabang Lao Sativa and Golden Skush in the paper towels. They are going into dirt along with the South African Durban Poison x Skunk #1 for my outdoor grow coming up in a few months.



I just planted another 11 seeds in Rooter plugs. If some don't germ I will replace them. I'm building my veg cab that will house an ebb & flow. It has room for close to 20 mums. I want to have a broad selection to take advantage of a perpetual harvest.

Fat Albert - I'm waiting for that Harvest!! I haven't mentioned it yet but I had some bag seed that I planted outside a few months ago (super late in the season). I really didn't expect them to go anywhere but they are actually about 2' tall and flowering up nicely. 2 of the 3 gals may actually produce something to smoke. Pretty happy to see them doing so well outside.

sounds like things are doing great for your nubie. as far as the ballasts go, good luck with the fix, i know a good tx hydroshop that does repairs (pm me). ive heard the rates are good too.

you have a serious setup and it looks like it will work out great. have you pumped h2o thru it yet? i can wait to see a report on the flowage action. im going to run recirc on my next grow, going with the blazeoneup tutorial with prob 4 buckets. maybe nine but not sure. i like your top off setup (similar to his), so im sure ill be using the same idea. are you going to use a chiller (maybe i missed it up in the thread somewhere?)

you are going to have a ton of sprouts in your veg room pretty soon, have fun keepin track of them all lol. now thats a job id be happy to undertake. so much variety you will be able to have a crazy heady stash.

TW x PD is a stretchy little thing. It likes to climb. I am going to LST this one like crazy.



All the seedlings and clones hanging out together. They are on a heat mat, so things are nice and toasty.



These are the outdoor seedlings getting their start indoors. They won't hit the outdoors till maybe Feb or so.



This is another outdoor gal. It is being LST'd to make it bush out. I have 2 main growth shoots so far. I'm training it to probably have 4. Still just working with it to see what it will do.

Ehm.. did you make that ozone gen DIY? I want to do the same with an inline gen but my downstairs sort of already smells sweet from the carbon scrubber dumping up there. I'm worried I'm going to suffocate with that ozone stench.. Either way, I'd like to see how you made that thing!

Hello All,

Put water in it. It works like a champ except for a leak on one of the seals on the rez. Ordered larger O-rings to seal it off. I will probably throw some silicone on it for good measure. I'll get the seals sometime this coming week and have it going full blast hopefully. Delays....so annoying. Ah well, it's all part of the process.

In Vino Veritas - I will put together a DIY O3 Gen thread for you a little later.
