Thanks Mid Town and Neptune. I was planning on doing just that. I am going to use a DIY water chiller. I bought a regular water cooler/dispenser that I will take apart and use inside my rez to keep the temps down. It's a constant 72 degrees inside my bloom room and I will be using CO2.

I don't have the money to invest in a legitimate water chiller at this point. I'm hoping the DIY version will be effective.

Thanks again guys for the advice. Keep it coming.

the DIY chillers work for a small amount of water but with that much I doubt it will even make a dent. You'r gonna need at least a 1/4 hp chiller and a 1/2 would be better. And I know BT say's that you don't need airstones but IMHO they are nessecary.

Also If your using co2 your gonna want your room temps much higher than 72 or it's bassically a waste. you need it at 80-85 for the stomatas to open up and use the co2 properly.

Just trying to help.

Nice setup, looks like a lot of hard work paid off. Good luck with the run. I've ran Bio Buckets before and never had root rot, this was a few years ago, and I'd seen many people run bio buckets without root rot. I'm not sure why it has all of a sudden happened to some people. If your res temp is too high you'll get root rot in all systems, bio buckets or not.

Thanks tokinsmokin. I am hoping that my Reeflo Manta Ray pump is going to be enough to prevent root rot till I get the money for a proper chiller.

My pump is a 5200 GPH pump! If that doesn't shoot water through the buckets in a hurry I don't know what will.

Once I have more cash I will also add air stones. I have seen a what a difference air stones make with my mother plants.

Yeah that'll definitely keep root rot away having it recirculate that fast. I don't think you'll have to worry at all.

Air stones eh? I meant to add air stones to mine but never got around to it and by the sounds of it I should have. Nice ingenuity.

make sure to use the root shields or you'll have problems with roots growing into the drains. Although with that much flow they'll probably end up in there anyways.lol

good luck

Thanks for the tip Mid Town. I will probably do just that! I was hoping that the net basket would act as a root shield b/c I placed the drains so close. That's probably going to have to change.

blAsia - Thanks for the kind words. Yes this is my 2nd indoor. Only did a few grows outdoors previously. I figured it was time to get serious about my growing passion and "kick it up a notch....bam". :canabis:

I'm putting some finishing touches on the room tonight. I hope to have a few more pics in several hours.

I just dropped Hashberry (mandala) and Destroyer (CannaBioGen) into a couple of shot glasses. Trying to add to the list of mums to choose from. I'm probably going to be following something similar to Hempy's Perpetual Harvest in 90 days.

Chug, Chug, Chuggin along....

Thats a sweet ****ing setup. Wish I could do something like that in the States.

seeing you are stalking me, i better at least come in here and..... HOLY MOLY!

thats a nice setup. i agree with the root nets or something alike. roots get big and block those holes. then ya get water all over the floor... at 5200 GPH, it wont take long for it to overflow the intire system...... and THEN... your pump will be running dry.

i HATE dominoes. never liked the game. 1 simple thing, can save a crop/your ass.
Listen to Midtown.. hes got ya back.

GL, ill be watching from the cheap seats

Thanks Nano! I'm crossing my fingers.

TheOneWill - Thanks bud!

NZjay - Next time your in your grow room, look over your shoulder, I'm gonna keep watching you! Thanks again for the inspiration. I'm headed to the store soon to get some root shields. :muahaha:

I'm getting close to done. Gotta stop getting stoned so much....I might get a little bit more done!

Sorry...No pics...the upload hasn't been working all day. I'll keep trying till it goes through.

Finally...PICS!!

I will have a few more to put up tonight...if the system doesn't go down in flames again. Thank you Tech support for getting that bug ironed out.

(2) - 1000 Watt HPS in cool tubes. I am pulling air from the room through the tubes. The intake you see is located by the A/C vent so it will stay cool. I also put a 6" to 4" reducer on the end of the 6" cool tube. Inside the reducer is a carbon pre-filter designed to trap pollen, dust, and small particles.

Drains from the bottom of all the buckets are finally plumbed together. It will make flushing a snap.

More of those drains. They are in an H pattern just like the supply lines. I used 3/4" ball valves adapted to 1" PVC for the drain off. It all leads back to the rez. It flows in above the water fill line in the rez.

Just starting to put them together.

Thanks again gotvape420. Been trying to update this thread for a couple days. Just no luck with the uploads.

I'll get some more pics up tonight.

Haven't been able to post up any photos again!! :bashhead:

Just dropped Princess Diesel x Afghan Bullrider and Princess Diesel x Trainwreck into water today. Thanks again to the friends who gifted them! I added an extra bucket to my mum room so I would have room for these little beauties. I'll give you an A to Z grow show on these gals.

As soon as the pic upload gets straightened out I'll post up the latest updates to the room.

Finally got to get some pics uploaded. WOO HOO! :headbange
Working out some bugs with the 240V wiring. Once that is fixed, I'll test it out and go from there.

Drains from the bottom of the buckets all leading back to the rez.

View of supply line from water rez to the dwc rez.

The whole shit and shebang coming together.

Underside view of the completed plumbing.

Very nice. I would have chosen different reflectors since you are already putting so much time/effort/money into the grow. Either way, it should turn out great. I think I am going to use a few of your ideas when I set up a mini-DWC system under a single 1K.

Hello Nubie, your new room is coming along really nice! Much respect for jumping in the water with both feet my friend! Were you able to get that wiring snafu worked out? I'm excited for you and looking forward to watching those new additions in your line-up as well to see what their capable of (ADxPD, TWxPD). Popadillo said that AB cross should be a real hard hitter and my confidence in his word is total. Quit taking so many smoke breaks and knock that sucker out so we can see that thing in action!

Looks like the AB x PD seed I chose didn't quite make it. I only germ 1 seed at a time. Just a matter of space constraints.
I've already thrown another AB x PD into some water. I'll have it in a RR Plug tomorrow.

I also just threw 16 South African Durban x Skunk#1 into water. I'm going to have another guerrilla grow coming up in a couple months. I am going to veg these little gals for as long as I can before I take them to their new home.

This is the AB x PD seed that didn't survive. It starts foaming when in contact with water. The reaction mimics that of H2O2. Strange.
