A Little Taste of the Himalayas in New England

They were around 20 ft give or take lol. I can only imagine how much bigger they could grow with maximum space.

Yeah, so do I. The tallest pot plant I ever saw with a measured was 23' tall, seeing pictures of something bigger than that would be a hoot and I hope that someday soon people who can grow legally get to start having giant pumpkin contests for their pot plants.

Great job Squall..!

I love, love, love airy budded sativa doms...I prefer the high from them and love the way they resist fungal plant diseases and mold...
That's real important where I live with the hot, humid summer and autumn..

The stone I get from indica dominant plants is OK, but I only want to smoke them after 7 or 8 pm...
Otherwise I won't get shit done...

incredible pix, Squall! dang what trees! i've seen pictures of South African strains growing up over 2 stories next to houses, but their bud structure could be seen through, nothing to compare to yours. fine job...:tiphat:

Thanks Hippy and Bud Green, but I think its the hardy genetics that really deserve the credit. Besides a couple of small issues and a few bad storms, it was pretty much smooth sailing.

I gotta say though, I do miss my daily walks out back into my mini ganja forest, especially since it seems that the winter weather has arrived early. Its been damn cold this last week and we've even had a few snow flurries. Thinking ahead to next season, I'll probably do some landraces again, either some Paki or Afghan seeds that I got from the same company.

I’d be interested to know which Paki/Afghan strains you hope to run—would be interesting to get some peeps in the region together (virtually, of course) to do a running comparison of coastal vs. inland, mountain/valley, 41N/45N etc.

I've been vaping a lot of this weed the last few weeks and the flavor is absolutely delightful. The effect is very gentle, happy and not too strong. I suspect there is a good amount of CBD in it as well since if wears off quickly. As for the hash, I'm sorry to say, but I'm very disappointed with the outcome. Besides the pitiful yields, the quality is questionable, even with the best grades. The 160 and 120 micron produces hash that won't even stick together. 73 is alright and 25 is the best (very small trichomes.) Even the best stuff is hardly pliable and turns very hard when rolled into a ball. I've been running 4-6 ounces at a time and am barely getting a few grams. The dry sift isn't any better - it simply won't stick together. Anyone have any advice on how I could improve the results? Still have lots of material, so I won't be running out anytime soon. Overall though, I have no regret growing these plants. Everything is a learning experience imo.

Those 25-foot canna-trees are unlike anything I have ever seen, Squall.

If the genetics of those trees traces back to the Himalayan foothills, it makes sense that they evolved as a very tall strain that would be best suited to catching as much sunlight as possible before the sun slid behind the peaks.

The pictures of those peasant hashish makers are educational a well. You get the impression that the hashish making trade has been passed down through generations of rugged mountain dwellers, who take great pride in their growing and processing craft.

Great thread with lots of unique insights.

I was thinking about attempting a giant plant in 2020, by planting a few Big Sativa clones on top of the septic field, where the wild peas grow.

Was going to weigh most of the branches down so the deer can eat them but I could leave the center stalk alone.

Hard to believe that it all starts from a little seed. How I miss chilling by little ganja forest right now especially since as of yesterday, we are officially in winter.

G_S That has crossed my mind and I do regret not at least trying. Problem was the constant, wet weather we had in October.

I'd also like to reiterate what a lovely high the flower produces. I kept myself pretty baked last night as I watched "Ad Astra" and felt the effects complimented to the movie perfectly.

Just this guy, ya know?
Those are some beautiful plants and I would never have guessed an outdoor new england plant could get that big. I really want to try a couple of these next year outdoor just to see.

Hello :tiphat: I've always been interested in Himalayan cannabis and the culture behind it, so I decided to grow some trees this season! The strain is Parvati from The Real Seed Company and they're absolute monsters - the largest reaching at least 20ft tall. Planting 7 this spring, I ended up with 5 females. Very happy with that ratio. I knew growing this strain where I live was risky due to the flowering time, but I decided to roll the dice anyways. If I'm lucky, I'm expecting a harvest at the end of October. Keep in mind these bud shots are from lower down on the plant. My ladder's not tall enough to reach the top lol. Smell wise, I'm sensing a lot of fruit, such a mango and pineapple, which is damn refreshing because I'm so used to skunky smells.

This first one is the chunkiest of the bunch

An obvious looser bud structure, but smells a little more pungent.

This is the floral one of the bunch

I know SEVERAL families who have relocated to my area ....a few from an area where they grow cultivars, idk if we can see their true potential without being able to compete with the 5-8 thousands foot elevation they enjoy in their native habitat. the garpon here said its frowned upon by most in his immediate family. Is higher elevation cannabis more potent or happier>?

I was talking with someone else off this website who is familiar with these plants and he mentioned the same thing.

Looks great GS. How big was the tallest one?

Growing some tall trees is a bucket list item for me.
