Hey Cooked cook,
I am very interested in how your G13 finishes up.
If it takes as long as mine did, or if she stretches, as mine did, or if the lower branches finish up long before the top branches.

My G13 turned into fantastic TREES that were 2 meters high, and eventually I had to chop them down as the top branches just stretched and refused to fill out. I got irritated with them so CHOP!!!

The high is very pleasant- mild and just very pleasant. Nothing overly spectacular.

I made fantastic Ice hash from all the trim and the stretchy parts. And the high from the ice is better then the straight weed.

Of course I am growing outside on a balcony and my conditions are different to a 12/12 light cycle. So then you might get something very different.

What I did find that once I crossed the G13 strain with something else- the resulting seeds grow out into something much much better.
So If you do happen to have a male - I reccomend that you pollenate JUST A FEW buds to see what the next generation turns out to be...

By the way- My original G13 is the G13 POG backcross.
but as I said before perhaps you will get something completely different to mine.
(Please Check out my thread in the outdooor growing section for comparisons.)

MGJ, Sleepy, Ronley..thanks for stoppin by.
Ronley, not much stretch yet. We'll see how long they take to finish up. Hopefully not long. I wanna smoke em! :D
I'm not sure where these G13 originally came from, but these were from the G13BX from JLP that everybody grew out last year. I'm just last on the block to start mine
I plan to do a little bit of seedmaking from these. I figured on pollinating one of the g13 with the Sour Bubble male I have, and pollinating a branch or two of the SB with some G13 pollen. Should be hella-potent either way.
I'll also be using these pollens on some pure Lowryders I have going outdoors.
Should be fun!

Nice job so far, Cooked! It's amazing how uniform all the Sour Bubbles seem to be. Undoubtedly just great genes!

By the way, where's the G-13 pics (hint, hint!)

Ronley

Well the main thing is that you are growing them.
I am sure that the cross will be AMAZING!!! and I hope that we will hear and see your next generation grows.
But first this one- we must not be too hasty.
Good luck and do please post lots of pictures as i want to compare.

photos of the menu selections

Quite the gourmet feast this cook is preparing.
Let's go over the menu, shall we?

Our dear friend Rellikbuz requested a better look at the G13s, of which I have 4. In this first shot, we see the 4 G13 ladies hangin out together.
To give you an idea of their size, you can see a standard door and a gallon of water in the shot. These ladies are puttin on some size

Let's get a closer look at this particular G13...

that's an average lookin flower forming.
There's a little bit of variation in growth of the 4, but they're fairly uniform. There are a couple in particular that are a bit more bushy, a bit more vigorous, more frosty, etc. It's these that I'll be pollinating with the Sour Bubble pollen.
Here's a look at one of these more vigorous ones wth the thicker, whiter hairs and larger nug formations. I love these cool little popcorn buds.

So those are the G13s. Rellik, hope ya got a good peek. Maybe I'll photo the individuals in future shoots so you can see the difference.

Now back to my 1 Sour Bubble Bx2 lady.
I have been AMAZED :yoinks: at the ammount of resin production on this one so early into flowering. A lot more resin a lot earlier than MANY plants I've grown, including these G13s with her.
Also, she has big thick hairs and shows a lot of color. This is onna be one special lady. Glad I have a clone

So, here is the top, continuing to form a tight bud

We get a bit closer, and you can REALLY see the frost....

The stuff dreams are made of!

It's going to form a nice top cola, and again....ALL RESIN! Take a peek under those top fan leaves!

BOG...you're a very naughty man!

These girls have started to develop a slight nutrient issue, which I was just correcting today. Let's hope they continue to thrive. If so, it should be a good menu.

Stay tuned. Soon I'll be pollinating my favorite G13s (at least a couple side buds) with the SB pollen. I'll pollinate a couple nugs of that SB girl too. I think I want to keep these genetics around in my kitchen pantry.

stay safe, and keep em green.

I am a very dirty old man actually... :D

Sour Bubble was the best tasting breeders indica in the scoring last 420 you know and third for potency makes her quite formidable actually given my competition.

You aint seen nothing yet CC but soon you will be really impressed. BOG

20 days in...

20 days in...

there's the good, and the bad.

First, the good.

OH, they're producing buds...

in some cases showing the potential to fill in to nice big buds....
:canabis:
and they're producing resin, especially the Sour Bubble Bx2

:jump:

BUT THEN THERE'S THE BAD :badday:

These girls have a nasty little nutrient issue hitting them

I have my own suspicions as to the source of the problem (mostly that I need a new PH meter..a GOOD one)
but I'd certainly like some opinions from our gallery of experts, as I have yet to earn my grower's big boy pants :gaga:

I'm losin leaves here. It goes from bad...

to WORSE...

any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

cc - looks like my plants when I had a k+ deficiency??? Or lockout?

Your other girls are looking very well fed and happy.

4 weeks into flowering...

4 weeks into flowering...

things are a little behind where I had hoped, but overall not bad. The plants are recovering from their nutrient disorder thanks to a heavy flushing of clean water. The newer growth is looking a lot better than the older leaves which have taken a beating.
The buds themselves continue forming nicely. Most of them seem pretty dense when I give them a lil squeeze (lookin for Mr. Whipple the grocer to tell me don't squeeze the Charmin.)

And they are definitely packin on a lot of sticky resin.
So here's a couple of gratuitous bud shots just for grins.
First the G13...
Here's a nice little side bud

more G13

Ah yes....happy trees!

and let's not forget about our friend the Sour Bubble. Frosty as ever...

Since the Sour Bubble is a good bit shorter than the G13s, I recently propped it up to get it closer to the height of the others. Should make it happier.
So, stay tuned for more fun from the cook's kitchen. Things are gettin sticky!

hehe, yeah dub. bob Ross could grow a fro like no other caucasian in history :biglaugh:
(although Art Garfunkle was tryin)
R.I.P Bob Ross, painter of happy trees.
May my buds grow fat like his fro.
Manga Rosa, most of the G13 has kind of a funky, rubbery, fuely kinda smell. maybe some pine. The Sour bubble is a bit more in the fruity range. All of them smell good to me though :canabis:
can't wait to sample these beauties.

well hey there natty! Good to see you my friend. It's been a while.
Yeah, Bob Ross was great. Mellow, happy cat all the time. And he made painting seem like something anyone could do. Just a few strokes here, a bit of green there, some shading and POOF there was a lovely mountain scene with a shoreline and happy trees.
Not that THIS cook could even paint the fence in his front yard
:biglaugh:
Yeah, we definitely got the happy trees kickin here in Cooksylvania.
Just another couple weeks and I'll be starting to flush. (nutrients from soil, not plants down the turlet)
I'll have to update some pics.
All I can say to you natty, is prepare to be couchlocked! (cook packs up a very special *bong* to take over to natty's and jackhammer her brain into unconsciousness!)

These are some dense frosty nugs that should really pack a punch.

I'll also have to update my "cookin outdoors" thread, as those plants are doing well also. I'm sure I'll see some purple colors evelop as the nights are starting to get kinda cool.
stay smokey, yall

update time!

update time!

ok, time for some updates and some new pics.

My ladies have reached day 38. Overall they're not looking bad. Some look better than others after my nutrient problems. The buds are a bit smaller than they should be, but they seem to be doing ok now since they got a good flush.
Let's get a good look at all of them. I'll give you a look at each plant, and then a closeup of a bud from each one.

G13A

and a bud from the same plant...

G13B

and the nug shot...

G13C

and the bud...

So far these 3 G13s aren't that different in shape from each other. Some slight variation up close. The next one was slightly different, in that it stretched a bit more than the others.

G13D

she seemed to be a bit more affected by the nutrient problem than the others.

but still produces some real nice frosty buds. See...

Last but not least, the Sour Bubble BX2

and her closeup...

I hope you good people enjoy these photos. I know none of them are exactly photo of the month quality, but they're gonna get this cook cooked. Even though I'm not thrilled with the quantity, I AM thrilled with the quality. I'll be even happier when they're getting loaded into the bong. :canabis:
