A Harvest Master "Fast Flowering" Grow Show

He's growing and flowering with 18 hour days, 14/4.40(IIRC) veg, 6.40/12 flower.

Instead of running a 24 hour day, he 's running an eighteen hour day, which means 9 days in a week (which of course means faster growth and flowering). His first grow proved that quality was not lacking, now he's going to see whether quantity is as good.

The primary problem with a schedule like this is learning how to adjust feeding and watering schedules, which if I understod correctly were where he will be making improvements in this grow.

impressive thread cosmic! this is 57325 w/ my old OG user name. gonna start posting here a little more often. AN is getting a little wild.I will need a new home when they shoot themselves in the foot . i watched ur last 18 hour grow and it impressed me. no doubt this will work and IMO the yields will at least match a 24 hour grow over the same period of time. i understand u r thinking it will increase ur yearly yield. that will be proven right or rong w/ this grow i am sure.

Those look great. Does the harvest master do watering as well? Or do you just have it controlling co2 and lights, humidity, etc..

Whats your guesstimate as to total days on this?

Since you run 6/12, essentially you are fooling them into 18 hour days, correct?

So a 60 day plant... does it become a 45 day?

That's the general idea Jumblyjoe.

The basic premise behind the 18 hour days is based on two things - That plants count 'days' by number of night cycles, and that the plant only metabolizes about 6 hours of light per day. Any other light is essentially wasted (before any of you nitpickers jumps in, notice I said 'esentially' - some percentage of light over 6 hours may be used, but the vast majority of the plants energy comes from 6 hours of light absorption).

If these two theories are accurate, then an 18 hour day should give you the same yeild in less time. Harvest Masters website actually claims an increase in yeild per crop, but I'm highly skeptical of that claim. My feelings are much the same as CBB's - The claimed increase in yield isn't the goal, but a reduction in time for the same yield would be a great boon.

Yep a 60 day strain will finish in 45 days!!! BTW The days I'm counting off here are 18 hour days, not calender days.

I don't think Harvest Master is claiming increased yeilds due to the "Fast Flowering" mode soley. Rather then the all-in-one controller keep your enviroment at it optimum. In other words if you buy one and run it on the normal 12/12 you will increase your yeilds.

No I don't have interest in Harvest Master I was however given mine by the folks at Hooked on Ponics as well as most of the other equipemnt so I could experiment with this properly. If you decide to get one make sure you get a hold of those guys and tell them cosmic sent ya!!!

sweet, so 18 calender days is actuall 13.5 days from now!!!!! man i hope this works well. quick question, i read on your advanced thead that you though doubling the lights and adding co2 would increase your yields. question is did you double your lights on this grow? will you be mentioning a gpw post harvest?

I didn't double the wattage. However I did up the up the watts per square foot. I was running a 4 X 4 closet with 1000W now I'm running a 4 X 8 closet with 3000W. I have I'm also running a CO2 generator. I got all this new stuff from Hooked on Ponics so they really deserve some of the credit for making this happen. If you need anything check them out and tell them Cosmic sent you.

Yeah I'll post a GPW but it's not going to be real high due to the strain I run. Bubba Kush is a real low yeilder.
