Still doing it old school carrying bundles up the ladder? Seen some dudes roofing last week with a shingle lift thing that connects to a ladder and brings em up there with the quickness.. thought it was pretty cool ive carried my share of bundles up on a roof ..good to feel the burn but that thing is probably well worth the money...

Screw that. I have them delivered onto the roof. I show up cut the bundle open and start shingling.

I learned a long time ago it was worth the $2 a square to have them put on the roof. On average that is about $60 per roof. So I save about three hours work with driving there and back. I make more than $20 a hour roofing.

Right on👍 even better...

I learned a long time ago that you get what you are given or you take what you want. By that I mean you determine how much you are worth and what you are willing to do to get it.

So let's say you want to make $100,000 a year with two weeks off. That means you need to make $2,000 a week.

Next you decide how much you want to work. If it is 50 hours you need to make $40 a hour or you won't get that $100,000 a year. If it is only 40 hours you need to make $50 per hour.

Anything that doesn't pay at least the amount per hour you want you don't do. Otherwise you don't make what you want.

And $20 a hour it not my number. So I let them stock the roof and I go make more somewhere else and make what I determined I wanted. I add that cost to the bill.

To many people never plan their income and settle for less than they could be making. Then they complain that they are under paid. But first you must perfect your skill so you can charge what you want.

I am one of the fastest and best roofers in my area. I have been told I make it look easy. Like I am in a ballet where not movement is wasted. Certain jobs I can't increase my productivity on. Like driving or setting shingles on the roof.

But the jobs that pay the most is where I focus my work at. That is where I Excell. I have to slow down because physically I damage my self and I can't keep that pace up everyday. Just so happens that is about twice what the average roofer does I know a guy who had a roofing company for 45 years tell me I was the fastest roofer he ever seen.

Some thoughts to think about.

So it’s taking some serious detective work (and lots of regeneration of my own long lost brain cells)..
I think we’ve (Gypsy & myself) located an older incarnation of me & I hope to have the account reinstated…It’s not engraved in stone , but if it does come to fruition then I’ll be making the proper introductions (and what was once old will become new >>> again!!! …:))

I wonder how much I make an hour growing weed? I’ll have to check the clock for the past 25 years to see if I’m making more than minimum wage:D

do you have any idea how long it takes to smear feces on all those?:D

why not a post at each corner & stretch a piece of chain link fence over it, ala SCROG? there IS a way to get feces on a whole bunch of them at once, but i'd bet it is "uncomfortable"... and carries a high risk of splinters.😄

If you need someone to teach you to trim I would ask Bugman.

Some say they can’t tell the difference between fresh and store bought eggs but I can for sure….or I have convinced myself that I can anyway :yummy: If one of my coworkers don’t have a dozen we make it a point to try swinging by the farmers market to pick some before buying some from Walmart or The Pig
