mine wont look like this stock model,no drop bars for me for one thing,also it will be the alfine internal geared hub so it will look like a singlespeed...basically this bike but in purple...

better to have said all the parts off the karate monkey will go on the new frame and the karate monkey will go back to being a single speed like before...
as to why...because im trying to hit 10000 miles in a year and i end up doing a lot of purely road miles so its kinda nice to have a rig that doesnt weigh 40lbs like the ogre or be wasting expensive mountain bike tires on the road....and in the long run another karate monkey is gonna cost me a couple grand because im insane and have poor impulse control...the straggler can be built up and done with...

lol,naw,i think im covered now for what i actually do riding wise and frame wise,the rest of the bikes are just about perfect,just a couple more chris king headsets and a couple of hope hubs and im good....for now!

That sounds like a whole lot of trouble and aggravation for pretty much nothing.
Sorry you and Darlin had to go through that. Its a shame that our "Higher Power" AKA The Government, uses its power to save us from terrorists just to hunt down and jail its citizens for non-violent crimes that arent even really crimes to begin with.

well...winds are coming back today so probably just take the kruiser monkey for a quick spin and come home and squish some bubble...interested to see how it comes out,it was all blue satellite trim so the water was deep purple so i wonder if that will come out in the rosin too...that would be pretty wicked if it was purple rosin..
still have cookie trim to make into bubble,think folks are gonna be excited about veganically grown cookie rosin...

and gonna have to figure out where to keep a 5th bike
getting crowded in the living room!

huey why are you trying to reinvent the wheel?

you know you can buy the plates premade,someone has already done the engineering,from the sound of things you're going to spend way more than premade plates would cost...

i spent less than 200 bucks and im getting nice product,why not just keep it simple until you learn how to do it? do you even have a market for it? kinda silly to spend a bunch of money if you dont...and this is coming from someone who has 4 and soon 5 ridiculously expensive bikes sitting around...

huey, just tell the shop you want 2 plates 5x5x1, a collar welded/mounted on like lotus showed and then three holes drilled into each. since my heaters are 1/4"...it said to drill 1/4" hole with .001 tolerance and they will fit perfect. i wouldn't know why they would want an autocad drawing.

they had the frame in black,but i already have 2 black bikes...besides i like the purple sparkle too,its one of the unique things about surly bikes...

They are sold out! I found a place that will do it on the cheap in all stainless steel...all I need is the drawings for the plates...I think the drawings I have will suffice but there are specific holes I want then there are holes I want threaded...I dont know how to do this or I may just be able to write it in...but I thought I would ask cause now Im learning CAD...too cool what you can do with it

On the day after I was first detained (29th August 2013), I was taken from the detention facility, under heavy guard, to the head offices of the Bureau of Immigration in down-town Manila to see one of their prosecutors called Mr Arellano. I was very curious to find out just why I had been taken from my home 60 miles north of the capital the evening before.

Arellano produced a copy of a US Federal Indictment against me that was put together by federal agents and a prosecutor in Maine USA. He allowed me to leaf thru and read the document for 10 minutes.

What I was charged with on the indictment was:
1.Conspiracy to manufacture, distribute and posses with intent to distribute marijuana.
2.Conspiracy to import marijuana.
3.Conspiracy to export marijuana from the USA to England.
4.Conspiracy to launder monetary instruments.

I had never, ever even set foot in Maine USA, but as I read further into the document it reveled to me that these charges had come about after some busts in Maine of 2 entities that were referred to as CONFIDENTIAL WITNESSES 1&2, who had turned into snitches after their busts and implicated me.

The only 2 people I knew of that resided in that state were Dutchgrown and Rez, and as I read on, it became clear to me that those two could only be the confidential witnesses, because in the indictment it showed evidence of my communications with DG via Skype, and some e-mails, and concerned our trades in cannabis seeds.

I had nothing whatsoever to do with setting up any grow in that state, or any other. I never 'Conspired' to manufacture any cannabis, nor import or export it to the UK or the USA, or launder any monetary instruments. My business is solely to do with trading in cannabis seeds, and any funds made are made legally because I am a British citizen, and can legally trade in cannabis seeds.

Some time later I did a search using DG's legal name on the US Federal prison site, and determined that she had been jailed from July 2013 until July 2014, so she was only sentenced to one year after plea bargaining her prospective sentence, by throwing me under the bus.
