For what it's worth, those dry shot's look almost dead-on to the outdoor buds I had from a seed plant of GHS Chemdog.........and let the hate commence now....

I grow this strain for 3 years.
I bought 2 packs of this (DNA 91Krypt)2-3 years ago , first pack is full of shit -4 male, 1 herma girl 1 died, but i found "chem like" pheno in the second pack and mixed them the most vital male. So and get this lady. Nice diesel / oil smell and hardcore buzz.

Yes this breded by me /breeding and inbreeding is my hobbi/, and f3 chem line I mean: inbreeding the most chem look like lady. (i want to go for f6-f8)

PBud and Chemdawg themselves don't know where Dog Bud came from before 1991. Some unknown genius never claimed breeding the strain. That's the true cut. Chemdawg found bagseed/ S1
an 95 of them put the seed or 2 they found probably in the ashtray.
i miss the d. so many good genetics in my stable but still missing the d to a cloning mishap.

Funny thing is before the Chem I'm not aware of any Chemy strain's.
Ie, no chem in Thai, no chem in African, it is unique as far as i know.
(obviously there are many hybrids now, but I'm talking pre 91.)
It (Chem 91) looks like an old Afghani/Pakistani hybrid.
But taste and smell is unlike any Afghans I've come across, yet.

Yes. Greyskull. The Dog bud down in HI. If you smoke the SkunkDog it has that chemmy note in the background and Dog is in it. I've not smoked straight Dog yet though.
I'd say he's probably the one to have come closest to finding that missing piece of the puzzle.

very true... but I gotta believe someone,somewhere got a hold of the same bud and kept/planted the seeds..
but finding good bud, and some seeds in the bud certainly does not mean the weed grown from those seeds will be as good ... could be better, but in my experience that's usually not the case...

What ever happened to the Dogbud strain? Should still be around to compare with the Chem family. The PNW area had a nice amount of strong strains around back then from the Purples, NLs, Hash Plants, and the G13 are just a few I can name off the top of my head. Out of all those strains I mentioned that burnt rubber, chemmy fuel smell Chems are known for is dominant only in the G13, and that was known as one of the strongest strains ever in it's day the same way Chem is known today. The '91 like OGK has no Lemon Thai in it, that's a tag some know it all fucker put on it cause he tasted lemon terps lol the lemon in Thai is a spicy lemon, the lemon in Chems is more of a sour, citrus lemons imho. I don't think it's a sister to the other Chems either, maybe a cross but it's not a sister, I really feel it's some kind of Affie/Mex cross. Mexican strains had almost if not more to do with US produced strains than EU or the Middle East truthfully. Mex strains I've tried had earthy, spicy, musky, and skunky characteristics.

A debate that may never come to a conclusion.. During this period of time I believe there where also some strains cultivated by different arms of the government for testing purposes e.g. Udub strain which if leaked would have been renamed as to protect the conspirator.. This could be why we can't trace the strain back to its origin and why no one has come forward to claim such a cultivar...
