This is a msg from wonkanobe aka chemfather..

pbud was part of my dead tour ski bum crew in the late 80s into 93. He IS FROM THE EAST.
He was with me when I had the 2 puns of dawg bud he smoked a ton of it. I was the hustler I WAS THE SUPER STONER. I was greedy back then, For some reason he is a stay at home mom know and has nuthn to do but try and take credit for really just riding in the car with me. LOL.

He new greg but I met him I fronted him pound of bud in the mail I named the weed. I love pbud and he is and always will be a close friend but, he tryn yo take a piece of the history that I set into motion. If I didnt send the pound who knows what would have happened.

the dawg came from the pacific north west Seattle Portland I'm who knew the church brothers brought it to town and I grabbed them.

So it's a PNW or Norcal strain..end of story. It obviously got garlic and skunk going for it

So Chem '91 is the result of a hermie bag seed of "Dogbud"?

And Sour Diesel is a hermie bag seed of "Chemdog '91"?

These are two of the most legendary strains ever. If this hermie bag seed thing is true, why do so many speak against growing herm bagseed?!

Also, If Chem and Sour Diesel are the results of hermies, why do they not seem to carry on the hermie trait? I'm super new to all this, but you don't seem to hear of any herm problems with these two strains, right?

So what gives?!

So far every seed that has the Chemdog name has Hermied on me including ISP Chem D bx3. I have not found any I would keep so far.

I would probably have better luck doing many packs then doing a Pheno hunt. If you pop enough seeds of any Cultivar you would probably find plants that where hermie.

Ecsd was supposedly the result of accidental herm pollination but not 91, there were males found among the original seeds.

Sorry to hear the bad luck with chem line seeds pf. Care to mention what else you've run aside from isp? I don't recall any chem seeds I've run herming on me, but I've only run a few different lines so maybe I've jus been lucky.

I know the d cut and ecsd can throw a late nanner occasionally, but never had either of them pollinate anything else in the room.

Edit: totally forgot about cali conn chem 91 and rez chem ibl, both of which hermed especially the former. What a mess!

Many diff packs have been run from GH, Apothecary, Rez, Cali Con, Mosca, ISP. I'm sure there are more. This doesn't include the ones that had chem genetics in them like GG#4.

if only we knew who the original growers/breeders were ;)

This has been the subject of much debate, imho some where outside Arcata on a small farm an o'l dude has some sorta version if not the original dogbud Aka skunk/afghan dude does NOT have internet connection :(

Just because we see male flowers doesn't make it a male.

It could be a herm.

From what I understand all we get is female and intersex (herms) of varying degrees.

@purple frostbyte I've also had hermies with Chems I grew from seed. I grew (6) GH Chemdog fem seeds, two hermied bad the 4th week of flowering, but the others were clean. I've grown 22 ISP Chem D bx3's females (from reg seeds) got 3 hermies, 6 females of their Chem 91 bx3, one hermied slightly, right before harvest. I guess the best so far have been the Insane Chem 91's, two packs of 10 reg seeds, got 13 females, only one hermied at week 6. I don't get upset about it, because OGRaskal told me a few years ago with Chems grown from seed, expect 10 - 20 % to hermie, even if you do everything right. He called it the price you pay for the potency and flavor.

I've got some isp great pin the way and am wondering are you talking late flower nanners or full on ball dropping hermies?

i had same thing , many years back . but the f2 seed i made with the plant i chose, all were stable .

i norm would,nt use seed from a hermie, but it was already seeded , only hermied right at the end of bud . so i tested the f2 they were very stable . could let them go as long as you like . not a banana in sight .

maybe if your keen to work with the chemdog you could give that try if you got the time and the room for it . sadly i blew through all the beans i made back then . i kept enough aside for a pollen chuck , but they were stashed away never to be found again. the guy who bought the house may get lucky one day .lol

Don't get me wrong many also where great plants just not what would stay as a keeper. I have more ISP chem D and Chem 91 f2 in veg.. The 1 in flower now tosses late flowering naners. The 1 that got culled had nut sacks. She took 5 weeks before they showed up. I lov playing with these genetics.

I got the Chem 91 as healthy as I can get her considering the shape she arrived in. It took me months to recover her. She has been through hell. It most likely changed the way she would normally look in veg. I popped her into flower last night.I still have not been able to get any cuts to root from her. I have 6 more going. Things must move on. Weather I get a cut too root is in Mother Natures hands now. You win some you lose some.

I was getting zero success cloning bodhi's "the fuzz"(chem 91x appalachia). I, luckily, recently discovered air layering and now have huge clones from all 3 phenos.

There must be something in the air. I got some of The Fuzz seeds to. I'm hoping to run them after the new year. Been scoping them on Instagram, since the day Bodhi dropped them. It seems like The Fuzz has three main phenos, all a little different, but all real potent. If you haven't tried Bodhi's Tigers Milk, it's got the same male as The Fuzz. It will get you higher and higher the more you smoke. I like bud that can do that. A lot of good stuff to be found in Bodhi's seeds.

@Oti$ The GH Chemdog had full on nutsacks all over, on 2 of 6, a few days into week 4 of flowering. The other 4 were completely clean though. With the different ISP Chem's I'd see a single nutsack on a few buds, but not all of them, and most were later in flowering, like a couple weeks before harvest. Most of ISP's Chems (80 % or more) were stable and nutsack free. They cloned the easiest to. The 1 Chem DD (f-4) (in coco) from Green Beanz was all my fault. I stressed it bad, my ph pen was way off. The other two (that were in soil) did make a single nutsack in one or two buds (probably still my fault), but it was already week 10 and I was harvesting.
