I'm not familiar with it. Was that a sweet one? Those are nice too.
Yes. The story of those seeds is little known. They were old when they were given out for free by Gypsy. There are old threads here about it. One in particular is very good. It was richly sweet and gassy and more. I crossed it to a astringent funky NL/ Afghan and it made the most beautiful honeysuckle,etc...sweet cross. Better than both parents. The skunk was not the sweetest thing in the patch but just incredible. The pure was the best. I'd try to source it but it just wouldn't be the same.
That genetic was the source. That was master root file stuff.A building block of today's genetics. No skunky skunk will ever replace it in my mind. The I- IV- V.

Have these skunks at 2 different locations already so I don't lose them. Going to flower these and verify them first. I'll keep updating along the grow.

Once I know for sure the smell and smoke is legit, I'd imagine a lot of people will want them. So we'll have to figure that out when the time comes but I will absolutely keep you in mind to be one of the first in line!
if you have extra let me in, please

It's just a thing you have to smell. It isn't putrid at all, nothing rotten about it. When people start talking "roadkill" it makes it tough to pin down the nuances. Yes, it is like roadkill in that it's like the whiff you get as you drive by an area where a skunk has recently sprayed, or been hit. I am NOT talking eany decay smell. Not am I talking about what it smells like when your dog gets directly sprayed... that's disgusting. But like a skunk sprayed in the woods 50 yards away and you just got the first whiff of it.

It's absolutely unique, and amazingly delicious.
Like you say I have to smell it in person to know if I like it or not, I love the Skunk#1 and Super Skunk but I know the roadkill element is not present in those lines so it's possible I've never had any roadkill pheno yet. I've had some plants with old Skunk genetics(Jillybean) who had some smells who were disgusting to me like hot garbage in the summer some really nasty odors , I really didn't enjoy those buds and sold all of them, thankfully those smells were rare in this line but when present they were very powerful and not to my taste at all.

Can someone fill this table please?

Skunk #1Super SkunkMass Super Skunk

Mass Super Skunk is Super Skunk that came from seeds from Amsterdam prior to 1992 when I met both growers, one of whom was SkVa's mentor, the other the grower who showed me we can compete with Cali outdoors. He took the original cut in VA. when it was just SS. Funny, I remember how good it was but so was all his stuff and the only SS I remember well is a Lexington, VA. one that was of a blander later variety.
He grew his outdoor in my county. I grew one of their clones, the Nigerian Kandahar. In 1992 it was all about top quality organic, and that is still the banner I carry.
I always thought the Sensi Seed sk#1 line description was perfect for the Sk#1 I had that was pure. That may have changed too, "...a rich sweet pungency..."

When the buds cured did they keep the offensive terps?

After 1992 my path diverged from that RVA crew who was fucked with the law and under investigation when I arrived back from prison, for a street fight I should have known better than to be there for. I was noob back then but had a better feel for growing than my friends. I went the way of Jerry for some years in the mid- 90's and had a dark period of Heroin addiction. I started growing indoors again oddly enough in Bozeman, Montana where SkVa is now.
I reached out to him to try and be friends and give him the Skunk. Hell,in the podcast they say they want this stuff. But the reality is people are worried I might hurt them or their brand. I don't think that is warranted but we come from a large group of Deadheads that had various sticks in the fire.
I play Grateful Dead music like I'm riding a bicycle , never trying to imitate and I get no love. I think I saw it from a musicians viewpoint at some point in time...they had their trip, and I had mine. I learned everything from them them really. But they didn't need me and I moved on. I still am friends with some in that group, but many are downright hostile and for no good reason really other than their own secretive lives and doings.

SkVa has the guys # who brought back the seeds and took the cut. I'd like to know more about the seeds purchase just for the record. I could have contacted him but being the Bong Loadin' I am I didn't. I think we are all real private people these days.

I sure miss that old skunk, Glad someone has it going.
I wish I could see it in the old spot! That would be the ultimate test. And ultimate potency test as well. I do find myself up and moving when I smoke it.
I hope good things come of the Triploid Sk#1 that Mac just got.

The VA. climate was perfect for skunk and I still hold a Skunk. View attachment 19167708 I don't think this one is pure. But is dominant in every way. I love old Skunk and this has the Royal Skunk in it that came from Gypsy and Sam.
Do you remember maybe 2011-2013 there used to be a loud loud skunk that would come around southern va towards December? I've been smelling actual skunks lately, and I think to me (i'm not old enough to have smoked the 80's weed) the weed we got back then was more similar to skunk spray, but not right on the nose.
