Great thread @Tangwena 👏🏼 I haven’t seen many people utilizing this type of light cycle but for these stretchy stay as it makes total sense. I have utilized “alternative” light cycles for years and mainly focus on outdoor but this thread has got me thinking 🤔 Really inspiring stuff brother 🤩 Thanks for sharing 😊🙏🏼

No worries brother things are starting to hum in the box ha ha.
The lights are raised as high as I can get them, 1mtr from the floor ha ha.
They seem to have finally slowed the preflower stretch and are now making flowers.
From the bud sites and my experience with Malawi Gold its going to be a nice haul of cobs in a couple of months time.
I had a bit of clawing on one plant the dripper feeding it was being way to generous but that was an easy fix.
In Malawi these plants finish in the dry season so from now on they all get less water easy to do by adjusting the drip rate.

The clones are making nice progress too I should get a nice cola from each to cure its a good test as I used seeds from a cob with a euphoric energetic high made from Colombian Gold/Demon Latcher.

Damn. I've been growing for 40 years and I'm constantly learning new ways to grow the old plants.

This thread is fascinating; I really prefer the energetic yet cerebral sativa high to the couch lock indica and I've been trying to work out how to get the cycle a bit shorter. Clearly you have solved that problem!

I noticed that you're running 480W of LED in 1200x1200mm, is that right? That's a 4'x4' footprint for my American friends. Most of the time when I see people growing in that much space, they're using 600-650W.

Also, I've seen others experimenting with higher intensity light for a shorter day cycle, this was intended to give the plants the same DLI (Daily Light Integral, that's intensity times day length) but shorter days. Have you tried something like that? Do you think it would screw things up?

Finally, the notion of rolling the buds up tightly and aging them for 6 months and then EATING them is a bit mind blowing to me! Do they have a chance to go through decarboxylation or is preventing that process the whole point?

I'm fascinated by everything you're doing here because it is so different to the way I've seen things done.

I'm really impressed and I want to know more! Like how I get my hands on some of those seeds you're making? LOL

I recently had to change my indoor soil medium and have 1 container of 4 that is the filled entirely with the newest blend. It seems to be a very productive soil and being old and not always thinking fully I decided to give this container a tbsp of Gaia Power Bloom organics 2.8.4. it wasn't long after that this particular containers plant developed clawed leaves. I was not sure if it was the fertilizer as none of the other 3 container plants reacted negatively to the tbsp of fertilizer or the fact this plant has grown within 8"-9" of my new Spider Farmer 460W LED.

If it is the fertilizer I gave that caused the clawing, do you think I made a critical mistake or will it continue on nevertheless and correct itself?

In my many decades of growing I can't wrap my head around this, maybe I don't remember clawing from a previous grow. I'm just not sure what it means to the well being of that 1 plant.

If it is because of fertilizer then I need to rethink my fertilizing schedule as this new blend will be the one that will grow the next crop.

This is bro science. If yourn expoert, you might skip, but.
Very interesting Method. If that works for you. My problem seems to be solved with lower temperatures in the first growing weeks,
takes a little longer though, and the air is usually to wet with 75-85 RH. Usually my grow room should be 22 C during flower at least,
with long term light to keep the temps over 18 mainly, with Autos.
However, i noticed, that autos are also a little photo and sensitive to all crop steering impact factors.
I just started growing pure photo sativas now with a two month veg with cold conditions and now turned to bloom 11/13. Defoliation and pruning are also cro steering impacts.. so commonly spoken: worsening the growing conditions always impacts. One can decide between vegetative grow and regenerative grow, so you see, mwhat the plant is doing. (Thats not the light cycle only, in my theory, it depends on the very plant)
You can stress them and nearly immediately they will react. Or you can support them also. Feeding them right, adding sugar to the soil-> mushrooms--> CO2
And with stretchy sativas maybe cuttlings would come into my mind as well..,!? Plenty of them mainlined in small pots maybe, 4-6 litres or so ?! Like a corn field!?
Just my bro science.
How is the taste of short sun weed!..
It was spread thar resin was a kind of sunscreen, therefore
The weed should be worse.... thats what they say.
Oh, i veged a GT after month in flower I repotted it in a height of
58 cm and with golden pre flowers I switched into a giant pot.
Lets see if it effects.IMO everything effects a little. Talk to them, and they will talk back.
Propably it will take some time for making new roots but after 12 hrs it looked surprisingly happy. Like all sativa allways really loved repotting. I dont know. They laugh.

I am no expert but I read in the past to much nitrogen can cause it.
That particular plant top did touch the lights a few days ago they were going up 50mm a day that week ha ha.
But the dripper was badly adjusted on that plant and it was getting heaps of the solution maybe a 3 times as much as its sister.
That has been fixed now so we shall see how it reacts.
I get it now and then with sativas they can be light feeders but the buds still get fat in the end so I dont worry too much about it.

These seeds were from Troutman a member here who loves making seeds.
The other grows were a favorite of mine Mulanje (from Malawi) pure and crossed to other sativas plus genetics donated by friends.
I only have interest in sativas anything that has a euphoric energetic trippy high.
You know the 2 or 3 drags on a pin joint type of sativa.
PM me if your interested seeds are free.

I dont listen to anyone else when it comes to growing my friend.
Its just a plant like any other get the right strain with the high you like feed and water and it will grow.
To me as long as the high is the kind I like I'm happy.
Oh and I'm also lazy the least work the better for me I'm only after getting high with the least effort.
I have grown clones of the same plant in the sun though and the high was better.
But its still highly illegal here so thats difficult to achieve.

Time to get high now what type of trip do I want to be on today ha ha.
