Here is my grow box I have Mulanje, Mulanje x Swazi and Zenith, Destroyer, and KA5 (from Ace fem)
Everything that is flowering has selected branches pollinated with pollen from a male Mulanje Gold (tropics) x Mulanje TT (mine).
I have 2 Mulanje TT males flowering outside to be used to lightly pollinate everything else as they flower including multiple Mulanje TT.
The flowering plants are 6 weeks from seed.

This method gives 1oz plus dried cola buds perfect for cobbing and the seeds enable me to delve into lines that impress me once the cobs are aged.
All 3 months from seed to harvest give or take a week or two.
Suites me and my micro grow space. If I want better yield I just vedge them on 12 hrs light for a week or two and they get a lot better yield.

Looking lovely 😍. Please keep us posted 🙃.

edit: do you always grow with that light regime?
and if not, have you experienced any differences in effects between plants that flower longer under 12/12 compared to the ones youre flowering out quicker?
thanks in advance!

re-edit: have you noticed earlier sexing with the longer periods of darkness?

sorry for the flood of questions hehe, you really piqued my interest. all the best!

Hi my friend I use this for speed. It def shows sex quickly, those smaller plants in the group photo are all 3 to 4 weeks old and have shown sex already.
I have two males out of six I removed in pots already for pollen collection in another location.

With these sativas if I start at 12/12 I end up with 1mtr plus high plants and it takes 4 to 5 months from seed to harvest.
By doing 9 hrs light on they start flowering after 3 weeks and finish as single cola plants like the older plants in the photo.
Those flowering plants will have another 8 to 10 weeks to go until they are mature.

Once I have chosen the best single cola dwarfs. I use the seeds from the chosen plants to grow 1mtr plus tall plants by starting on 12/12 for 3 weeks before switching to 10/14 for flowering.

This way I can do a seed to harvest in 12 to 14 weeks otherwise I might spend 6 months growing bigger plants that are later deemed not good enough.

You can follow this grow and see how fast they sex and mature.
Plus by pollinating a few lowers early on I get the seeds really mature by harvest and ready to go if required.

Because I chew minute pieces of aged cob I really only need an ounce or two from each plant at most.
Doing it this way I can get through more selections per year. Mother nature is too slow ha ha.

9/9 from seed, interesting.. I must try this.
9/15 its the 15 hours dark that panics them into flower foregoing their vedging period.
Some strains still manage to get lanky like the Colombian Gold x Demon Latcher. It still managed some preflower stretch but sexed and flowered at the same time as the single cola plants.
Its purely to test as many strains as possible in a small space and shorter grow time 3 to 4 months from seed every time.

From what i understand, light is deteriorating the flowering hormone ethylene. It builds up in the dark. At least that's how it works with photosensitive plants.

I've experienced very similar things with 9/15 from seed but done it only once, for pretty much the same reasons, seedmaking and testing long flowering plants. Good to see that theres consistency in that method.

I might have to try this, do you mind if i ask what timer you're using?
The cheapest brother just a normal 24hr timer nothing special so are the LEDs they were ordered direct from China via Alibaba.

9/15 from seed, right?
Yes thats right normally I would vedge for a couple of weeks on 12/12 to get a bigger plant but lately I've been doing it 10/14 or as in this case 9/15 since seed.
Its a great way to grow lots of different plants if you have the seed.

Just the yield is very low but as I pollinate a few lowers on each plant I always have plenty of seeds.
I can do 3 crops a year of tropical sativas which would normally take 5 to 6 months each.
Thats the main reason I do it. I haven't got the time to spare plus its fun.
