Are there any grow stores in Uruguay?
Can you buy or import equipment?
As far as I can find out the answer is "no".
Same as in Brazil.
Please enlighten me if you know better.

How are you going to grow indoors with lights, if there are no lights?

Europe should starting to do the same, like domino's effect.
If no countries do this, Uruguay maybe became in a new touristic place by thanks of cannabis law.

Plenty of high quality, family owned hydro shops in California. No seriously negative stigma here...
Uruguay, from what i can tell, is a progressive state. Their stance on gay marriage and, now, cannabis shows an openmindedness and progressive national consciousness.
California is (to an extent) a progressive state (not without problems and strong opposition) within the united states. It mirrors the position held by Uruguay in south America.
I see no reason why a thriving hydro industry would not be a great part of the Uruguayan economy.

I was asking for a response from the OP, not you.
I'm not interested in what happened in Australia. I'm interested in what's happening in his country, as I frequently travel to South America. And since he is the one who lives there, and you have never been to South America, why are you answering for him? I would call that trolling, and off topic.
My experience in SA is that you can't get any grow supplies there, so I am simply wondering if that's the case in Uruguay. A simple question, directed at one poster, the OP. So thanks for your "help".

My old shop used to ship to brazil mexico and even chile. There are no real stores as most south americans are DIYers. in the ghettos of Sao Paulo, home made vert hydrosystems are everywhere mounted to walls and roofs, the sides of buildings etc made from rain gutter and 1/2" hose the locals grow their own food crops as the city is one of the poorest and dangerous cities in Brazil. I have lived all over the world, and let me tell you. NOT 1 Country is perfect. There is no Utopia. If you buy enough land anywhere, you can do whatever you want and create your own utopia. If people are willing to pay shipping, shops are all over the net... wonder what utilities cost in these areas, whats the taxes like? I know there are no corporate income taxes in Panama, and that it's beautiful.

Interesting. Having spent a lot of time in Brazil, was thinking of doing grows there, but couldn't find anything in the way of supplies there, even basic supplies like decent soil or amendments, let alone lights.
There are no grow stores there. This I know.
So you were sending stuff to individuals?
Customs is tough there also. American products get extremely high duties. Would like to know more details about this, if you can share. I still think about doing gorilla grows there, as the climate is perfect, and you can get within 10 degrees of the equator, and grow some Neville's haze or other elite, long flowering sativas.
