500 Gallon Raised Beds in the Foothills 2015

I do one dripper per 10 gal of soil with 1/2'' emitter tubing on 12'' spacing, 40 ft of emitter tubing for each 400 gal. Works great but I still need to handwater the pots when they are first plugged to get them started.

If you're having to water for 90 minutes and not getting even watering, then you probably need greater water flow volume - don't fall into the psi trap. Running 2" from the water tank to the garden, then to 1.5" valves reduced to 1.25" pipe to 3/4" poly tubing to 1/2" drip or emitter tubing should solve the water volume issues.

The difference between a 1" valve and 1.5" valve is exponential in terms of water flow.

its taking some fine tuning but it def beats hand watering for hours each day

the pressure seems good but its more of a coverage issue so by extending the dripper spiral it should soak more soil area. i will let you know if my idea fails lol

Great start. I only dream of doing such things. Bravo
I also once dreamed of doing this and now i live my dream !

Helloall,

Looking good....subbed.

I would like to mention that I use a 4" of straw as a cover. Been doing it a few years now...can tell you I water much less and less often and the top of the soil is rich in bio-life because it never dries.

Good luck to us all this year.

Just a bit of info I would like to share.

Mulch is key! I would never grow without it. The more diverse, the better.

yeah mulching def helps keeps the top soil from drying out quick. i have used straw for mulch in the past.
i have a couple yards of shredded redwood (gorilla hair) that i might use for mulch. i dont have any other use for it either

I've got one that was looking male all along that started popping hairs, fairly tall, like 3 1/2 feet in a 5 gallon bucket, the side branches are meh. Then I have another that has tight nodes, looks female probably is female. Yet to show.

WS that your perspective? Different phenotype so I guess. I don't think has anything to do with Auxin/phytokinin ratios.....

^^ took this pic yesterday few miles from home.

everything is coming along really nice so far. we will have to add another 5ft remesh to each pot soon bcuz alot of the plants have already reached the top of the 5ft cages. shit..we only put the cages up 5 days ago lol

a few days ago we replaced 2 plants that turned out to be males. it sucks but we put out a 2ft tall blue dream and tigers milk in their places. different phenos are all part of the fun to find the good ones. i hope the blue dream and tigers milk catch up to the rest..
