No big deal at all unless you go stickin your fingers in there when its energized lol,no big deal mine has been gone years. It was probably me you heard that from, what I said was I probably wouldnt load more than 4K on any one WH40,its not based on practical experience though, just a guideline I feel safe posting.I'm sure you'll be fine for years to come, and the beauty is if it only lasts a year or two, just replace it.Mines been going over 5 years with 3K so logically you should be able to go at least a couple years with twice that, you're not exceeding nameplate rating which is most important

Hey Pico,

Glad to hear you got it up and running. Been following this thread. Thanks for sharing the pictures also. Sure does help me out when i have to deal with this stuff down the road. Never messed with panels and stuff. Very nice setup you got there. Thanks again for the info and pics.
Take care,

Thanks again smilin bob.

GDW- I was actually really suprised how cheap these subpanels are. I picked up this baby for $25, and they had a smaller one for $15. Glad the pictures helped.

Now I can put back all the breakers in my main panel to power my house. I ran without heat this winter because I didn't have enough room for the heat breakers.

Morning pico,

WoW, that is a nice deal on those panels. Did you buy them online? If so, could you link me? Thinking about buying one of the sub-panels and a 200 amp box for new place. Once i get the generator in place and online. I want to make sure everything is looped into the generator. House will run off of street power and I'll install a one arm bandit. If the street power goes out for some reason. I'll just throw the switch and feed of gerenator till street power comes back on. Nice thread and thanks for sharing. Looks nice and clean. You must be happy now. Not having heat, WOW. Glad you got it all fixed.
Take care,
BG

GDW-

I bought the panel locally. Not home depot, but a similar store. I think it will do 125 amps, but I just am running 50. Heat? Who needs it. I am used to freezing winters and now where I live it only freezes a few weeks a year.

I am getting to the point where I need to start looking at that generator. :)

Thanks,
I'll find what i need online. Those generator's are nice and make life allot easier for sure. Think i'm going to run some Bio-Fuel in mine. Got to see if i can find a good source for some used veggie oil first. Let me know when you make the jump to that generator. You]ll be the first once I get settled and order mine.
Later,
BG
