No stretch

No stretch

Lid,
I don't think they will stretch as far as you may think. Not height wise. Keep your light down a little and the plant will grow towards it. You could also use bush. I would bump the previous post. I would lolly pop them a tad and given them a hard trimming at 20 days into flower.
Trimming the bottom a tad could only help. Just my two cents worth. Awesome grow. I have been playing around with vertical my past 3 grows. Currently doing vertical back scrog. I need to add my link to my post. Keep up the good work and good luck gathering a few bucks for the improvements.

Are there benefits to not trimming the lowers or are there cons to thinning your plants lid?
I usually like to take 4 lower cuts and it eventually ends up lookin like a lolly pop, like dorado mentioned.

I usually 'pinch out' the lower smaller shoots beofre they really develop, shaping the plans as they grow.

I prefer pinching out to 'cutting' because the cutting leaves a more open wound than a pinch out which kind of seals the wound, and if there only 1cm anyway big its just like plucking a little leaf.

looking good, I love how differently side lighted bushes/trees are shaped.

I didnt see where you got your hps yet, but I would sure flip them when you think its right, and dont worry too much about having a mh for a while. Also, I always flip too soon and then get annoyed cause I missed a bit of possible size, fwiw. I grew with just mh for years and it worked just fine.

update 12/12 flip

update 12/12 flip

Ok to get up to date last week i decided to cut my ladies back. They where close to 6' wide. I tried cutting them back nice and even but that was a little tough as you can see in the pic. I cut them back alot and they where looking a little sad so i let them veg for a few days before fliping to 12/12. The stocks on these ladies are about 1 1/2" wide already and the roots almost touch the bottom of the trash cans. For my flower i'm using ushio hps bulbs in each corner and 1 horticulture duel spec hps/mh in the center.

Currently their about 4' wide. My temp and co2 are still low 75 F @ 800 ppm but in two weeks ill really start cranking it up. Ill let jump co2 to 1500 ppm and let the temps rise into the 80's. Thats when things will really start getting crazy! LOL!

Do you think the CO2 is more important while at the end of flowering. I have always have done the opposite. I usually cut back my CO2 after the second week of flowering. I have know idea why. I guess I figured it was mostly used for the veg growth. Anybody have any comments. I have to say I made this up in my own little mind. I need to rethink this.

Lid,
It's looking awesome. Do you have a goal weight? Regardless of yield it's fun to watch.

I dont like to use it during veg or first two weeks of flower to much becuase of stretch. Then i crank it up to increase flower production.

Ill be happy with weight if i have enough to last 6 months and a little extra to use on experiments like different tictures, hashes, edibles, ect.

I have to fire up the old CO2 next week. This may explain poor yeild last round. Thanks for the input.
