Youre right, they havent grown vertically sinse the second week of flowering and theyre just getting fatter. You just harvested your tangerines, so do you have any drying/curing tips i can use?

!!!HARVEST TIME!!! ​

I've decided its time to harvest. The hairs are already 75% amber and 25% cloudy. There are 1 or 2 buds that are COMPETLEY over riped. According to Nirvana the flowering time is 7 or 8 weeks, its been 8 weeks and two days for me. I fear more buds will over ripen, if i dont harvest now

It looks like these clones are the indica dominant phenotype of AK48. I had a feeling they were maturing too fast and i was correct. Now i have two brown nasty looking buds But thats ok, they are small buds anyway and all the others look nice and healthy.

EDIT-No overriped buds, they turned brown because of a mistake during training.

Here are the pre-harvest pics of my two girls, this is the last time you'll see them alive. Next update will be of them hanging on top of my cabby. Mucho thanks to everyone who supported me and this thread (thanks p2p).

That's gonna be a nice haul Pontiac.

Make sure to dry them nugs up good before sticking them in the jar. You don't want no mold. Thick dense buds like those you want to be extra careful.

Good choice to harvest when you felt it was necessary. I'm hoping that's not mold already on that last "overripened" bud. You may want to keep it or any others seperate from your other buds. Don't wan't mold spores jumpin around.

Those strain finishing estimations are just that...estimations. Best to make the call by eye. Best of all is you can choose when to pull them according to exactly how heady/couchy you want it.

Give yourself a big pat on the back Pontiac you did a bang up job for your first run.

Hey TML! Naa that wasnt an over riped bud, i thought it was but it isnt. I found out i "choked" that bud by tying the LST strings too tight when they were younger. The end result is that the stem gets thicker (as it ages) and the LST string chokes up the branch. Thus, it seems the bud choked to death (or near death).

I still stand behind the descision of harvesting 1 week earlier than expected; the hairs were mostley amber and very few of them were cloudy.

Well i just started harvesting, and theres NO way i can harvest it all today. Its a very hard job, and i finished about half. You should see pics of all of them hanging by tommorow.

Thanks again for the comment TML. This grow couldve been alot better, but i agree; its a goddamn good first grow! Thanks for the harvesting tips too.

All the yellow leaves are telling me they got flushed good..your tastebuds and throat will thank you later..let um dry till the stems snap..and get the jars ready..
If you don't have jars yet..I found craft stores cost a little more..but they have lots of sizes..
Some like to have a indirect fan going just to move the air in the drying area..Like TML16 was saying your enemy is mold and mildew now..
beat them and you got yourself one hell of a nice haul..

Ok I finished harvesting them, It was probably the hardest part of this grow; even more difficuilt than cabinet construction and such. I think i spent a total of 7 hours of cutting and trimming! I'll be back with pics of them hanging and drying in a few minutes.

Well i did my best to take the pics of my harvest in a few angles. My camera couldnt capture all the weed, so theres alot more than the pics can show (including kola tops!). I'll take a much better picture of them all right before i put them into jars (about 10 days later).

you should try out my dryer box for all your trim, my shit is almost 100% dry after 4 days so far. i wouldn't use it on anything you want to smoke (i.e good buds) because the taste gets pretty harsh.
