If u do a google search on SOG-SEA OF GREEN u will see that its based on a perpetual schedule so basically u wouuld put in 10 plants every week and pull 10plants every week! that is SOG..All your plants are at the same date under 12/12 correct???
Unless you have plants in there where some are at 5 weeks and some are at 3 weeks etc its not a SOG...THe theory is based on more plants less veg time more harvest with a perpetual schedule..
You may have a SOG going Im not sure I was just asking how u thought it was a SOG because what I see here in the pics is not a SOG..IMO.The jist of it is there by not topping and using more plants but do u have more plants ready to go??..Not a big deal bud just stating some information...
Check out this link Itll answer all your questions..

OIC! I don't think sog necessarily implies that the grow has to be perpetual. Of course I could be wrong ;p. My plan with this setup would have been to fill the entire sq ft' of available space with clones. For an 8 wk strain, I would take cuts from the mothers @ about week 5, root em (~10 days), veg em (~10 days), transplant and veg another ~2 days, then send them into flower, as I'm pulling the current cycle. I think by this definition I do have a perpetual going, where I harvest every 8 wks, instead of every 2 or 4 weeks. Although this run is more of an experiment to see what I can do with these 2 litre's.

For experiment's sake, lets say I have room for a total of 30 2-litre's, for our argument we'll just say each plant pulls 1oz, and is an 8 week strain. Right off the go, I'm gonna want to fill that entire order of 30 plants, why would I put in only 10 so I can put in another 10 2 weeks later? Put 30 in on the get go and I get 30 plants to flower in the quickest amount of time possible. I dont have any more room for any more plants, so theres no way I'm putting in more plants, I'm forced to wait for those 30 to finish, So I can replace them with new clones that are ready to begin 12/12. Actually wouldnt I get the same yield in a period of a year if I were to do it both ways?

I just ran a 52 week timeline, where for 1 perpetual method, I place my max 30 clones into flower on week 1, harvest on week 8, which is also week 1 for my next crop. In a 52 week span, this would provide me 7 harvest's of 30oz each, yielding a total of 210oz's in a span of 52 weeks. I know these figures are wayy off on yield, we're just saying for experiement's sake.

The other perpetual, I placed 10 in week 1, 10 in week 2, and 10 in week 3, maxing out my available space. First set is done in 8 weeks, followed by the other 2 following weeks, I'm placing new clones in as each set finishes, preferebaly the day of Harvest. Given this model, I came up with 21 Harvest's of 10oz each which would yield 210oz in a span of 54 weeks, which comes up needing 2 weeks longer for the same yield.

Of course their are a bajillion variables, enviro, etc, etc, and we know each clone wont pull the same yield. These were just for arguments sake, to see which model is better. I tell you one thing though, you really got me thinking about it in another way, and I'm still left wondering, is there a more efficient way?

Yea your theory is probably accurate and we have been putting things down on paper as well trying to figure things out, but were all after one thing and thats the final product right??? Well with this way it just seems youll never run out where as if you harvest every 45-60days ull be dry by day 14...meaning your spending money on herb while your waiting for your own to be done.. Where as with this method your always pulling down so youll never run out..Just IMO...

Lemme know what you guys come up with, if you find anything interesting. I can see what your saying now tho, about running out. For me personally, there's no way I'm smoking 5-6 zips in 14 days hehehe. So I dont see myself buying anytime soon, and I keep telling myself I'm gonna go in and get an 1/8 of Bubba and OG, but still havent in the 3months since I went self-reliant lol.

I think what it boils down to is the preference & situation of the grower. Some advantages I could think of doing it the 8wk way, is you do your harvest all on one day boom its done, dont worry about trimming/drying for another 8 wks. Also by the time you get down to the last of your stash, it should have a decent 8wk cure on it. The downside, is going crazy on joints and blunts lmao, and ripping thru your stash like a crazy.

I think we'll see which method is best for me, when my 3rd harvest comes thru. I'm gonna have to setup another sog run, cause 2 of my 3 "good" AfghaniHaze12's came up males. But the best looking one is female. I also got 1 more "mutant" that decided it wanted to grow 4 side shoots before the main shoot lol, so I got all 4 of those LST'd while the main one is barely growing.

I'll shoot up some pics of those AfghaniHaze12's in a sec...

Afghani x Haze "12" #1 Sex: Suspected Male

Afghani x Haze "12" #2 Sex: Suspected Male

Afghani x Haze "12" #3 Sex: Female

Afghani x Haze "12" #4 Mutant Sex: Unkown

These smell something wickedly beutiful in veg!! Cant wait for bloom.

Interested in that final yield for sure.

I once thought about doing exactly what you are doing but I worked out that I'd need twice the amount of bottles you have going.

I was going to go for 30 - 40 3 litre bottles. 10 grams per plant is reasonable and you would yield 300 - 400 grams.

Like I said, really interested to see how urs goes but I reckon your output can easily be doubled!

PS UNREGISTRED: I have never heard the definition of sea of green beeing a perpetual harvest.

That is the weirdest thing I have heard in a while. The point of sea of green is to have an even canopy, ie a sea of green.

If you have different aged plants in your grow room you are going to have different sized plants and more of a tropical jungle than a sea of green.

Perpetual harvest = having lots of differnt aged plants

Sea of Green = Even Canopy
