400 watt club...

I have my plants about 8 inches from the light, but im using an air-cooled hood with tempered glass. Id post some pics but theres nothing special about plants vegging, one of these days Im gonna have to switch to 12/12.

Right now I have 1 ak47, 1 skunk #1 and 1 unknown from seed, and they were ALL females, well, they are all showing female pre-flowers, they have been vegging for about 2 months.

I also have 2 sd that are unsexed at this point, and 1 ak47 clone that i managed to root in nothing but perlite and tap water, muhahaha. I have some videos of the plants, but i have no idea how to post videos on the net.

What!!! is that possible? cool! i'm gonna try my first clone cuts as soon as my plants show their sex. They'v been 45days 18/6 & 10 days 12/12 that is 55 days old & still no sighns of sex i'm dying to see whos girl & whos boy lol , i guess afew more days they'll start showing it...

Here are my plants on flowering...
I had a problem that the humidity was too high and the plant flowered very slow...
And they are too big:S I give them on 12/12 too late grrrrr....
But now i solve this problem with humidity and ow they started to flower normally

well i just started another cab with what do ya know a 400 watter...so i will stop in and see my new 400 family and post a few picks...it is a 2 x 2 x 5....100 watts per sq.ft.....growing one plant in it...peace

Light bleaching/burning is still a concern regardless of temperature. Also, the glass being cool to the touch doesnt mean the surrounding air is completely cool too. One of my Cool Tubes is cool to the touch but the temps right beneath it (6") are still near 90 degrees. There are several variables to consider when deciding light distance.

Ah theres the difference, I dont. Just lots of circulation. Goes to show that rooms are all different so blanket advice can sometimes be wrong for individual situations. I guess its an unavoidable issue on these types of forums sometimes.

On anywhere in this HUGE thread do we discuss yields with 400-watt HID's? That has to be a popular topic.

I veg under a 400-watt MH with an AgroSun Gold bulb. I flower under that same lamp, but I add a 400-watt HPS.

I had two Ice and two Aurora Indica under a 400w hps. Vegged 33 days and flowered for about 9 weeks before chopping.

Here they are about a week before chopping. The two plants in back are just over 4 feet tall. The ones in front are just under 4 feet.



Here's the main cola from one of the Ice plants before trimming. about 110grams green weight


After trim 98 grams. After drying this cola was just under 1oz 26 grams if I remember correctly

This is after drying and a couple weeks into curing. I got a bit over 7.5 oz dry cured bud from the 4 plants. I got another 100+ grams of very nice sugary trim for making hash as well.


Both are very potent. I wasn't thrilled about the Ice. Both Ice phenos were indica dominant. I was hoping for more sativa influence from them. Both were heavily covered with resin. A month after drying and curing both still feel "sticky". My scale is accurate to .1 grams. I can take a .1 gram hunk and cut it in half. Two good hits from approx. .05 grams and I'm doing good

I've got enough of this couch lock pot for now. I'll be growing a sativa hybrid next. I really crave the kinda weed used to get back in the late 60's and 70's
