4 Strains in Hempy, one tent!

ON DAY 18 ALREADY...

The grow bug has hit me again, so i threw up a tent and added a new ceramic Metal Halide (315W) for light.

Tent is 3X3X6,5.
6" exhaust fan with speed control
Hempy buckets - 2 gallons with a 3:1 Perlite/Vermiculite mix
Osmocote Plus for nutes.
Cal/Mag and Silica will be added as required.

I had been using LED's but the last two grows were not very successful so i wanted something that would provide me with some nice nugs.
The light was bought in Canada and it is a custom horticultural spectrum, so we will see how it performs during flower as well!
I bought the 3000K and 4000K bulbs and will switch them out when flowering starts.

The strains i am growing for this round are:
Auto Trainwreck from Crop King seeds
Auto Blackberry Kush from Dutch passion
Auto Berry Bomb from Bomb Seeds
Auto Purple Mazar from Stitch

Some pics of the equipment:

4000k for vegging

I am fairly certain i could just use the 4000K for the whole grow without doing any harm!

One thing i have messed up is with the Trainwreck...
The beans were very slow to germ and then i transplanted the one too soon and it did not like the introduction to nutes so early. Most of it's leaves turned crispy and yellow with only the top remaining green, i removed the dead leaves this morning. I am going to leave it in the Hempy for another week and if it does not show any sign s of growth, she will be replaced by another Trainwreck that is doing well already.

I will not bore everyone with seedling pics...

Transplanted into the Hempy buckets on 12 October 2016.

You can see the front right plant is a lot smaller than the rest, should have kept her in the smaller pot for a week more before transplanting.

Fast forward to this morning and this is where we are!

Thnaks, hoping to grow some dankness!

I was one of those starter pioneers when the Chinese started building LED panels all those years ago... So not a good bench mark but i went with what i knew would grow good bud.

They were made by Bysen LED.
And to be honest, they worked wonders for the first two grows and then started to give trouble with the LED,s...

Auto Berry bomb has exploded with new vertical growth today, almost 3 inches!

Had to take a quick pic of her stretching with all she has!
For an Indica dom strain, she sure has Sativa like leaves...

Another week has flown by already and that means, update time!!
Things have been moving along in the tent quite nicely. A bit slow for my liking but i am thinking it may be due to my first hempy experience.
I used to have much better growth in soil a few years ago. It could also be the strains though, so not sure yet. A few more weeks will tell for sure!

Light is now 12 inches from the Auto Berry Bomb due to it's crazy stretching!

Not quite sure on age... I would say around day 20 so far.
On with the pics!

Auto Berry Bomb still stretching like crazy! Has grown another 4 to 5 inches in a few days...
Check out those leaves as well!

Blackberry Kush was looking a bit down this morning. Lights go off soon and when they turn on, she is very perky!

Thanks bro!
So far it has been very quiet and easy.
Not sure if i added enough Osmocote Plus to the mix, maybe that is the reason for some slow growth? Anyway they are healthy, so that is good!

And just an update on the Blackberry Kush.
Here she is about an hour after the lights have come on, she has perked right up and is happy. Odd little lady!

She is a weird one alright...
Just wish that the Berry Bomb would stop it's vertical growth now!!
Keep having to raise the light because of her.

Another Sunday morning which means it's UPDATE TIME!!

Unfortunately i am a bit of a doorknob at times and this grow has suffered immensely due to it....
All the plants except the Berry Bomb are stunted due to my transplanting misadventure.
I thought the pots were drier and transplanting would be easy, except the pots were not dry and they fell apart when i was transplanting.
Upsetting the root system of an Auto is not advised under any circumstances!!!

Oh well, live and learn again!
At least they are happy and healthy!

I have started a few more seeds to test my theory!
The new guinea pigs will be sprouted and then placed in peat cubes to germinate.
Those peat cubes will be placed into the hempy buckets when the tap root emerges.
Plants should be regular sized then!

Enough talk, on with the pics!
Girls are starting to smell quite nice now.

To start off with, i have a question about the Berry Bomb!
Check out the two fan leaves that are turned 90 degrees from the light.
Any ideas why this would happen?? Only two fan leaves are doing this.

They look great. It is interesting to watch your grow since it is so similar time wise to mine.

It would be nice to hear from others on your grow....mine as well. I don't know why this site is so non responsive? Those two fan leaves are something! I hope someone chimes in on it.

Sorry to hear about the stunting. Your plants do look healthy though!

Ever thought to gently bend down the top (without breaking the stalk)? LST goes far, my friend.

So on the 30th of last month you posted that they where 18 days old? So right now they are 35days old?

Yea i 2nd what Ari said about doing some Low stress training, that way you dont have to keep raising the light because of that 1 plant. Which is letting the light get farther and farther away from the other girls as well

Not quite sure of the date, sorry for the inconvenience...
Let's try sort it out quick:
The broke soil on the 10th of October 2016. Buy my calculation that makes them 38 days old, please excuse the 3 day brain fart...
When do i start counting? That day or first set of true leaves?
Not sure.

I tied them down a bit and they are slowly turning back towards the light.

I start counting probably about the 1st true set of leaves. Cause I consider vegging when I have them under a bigger light. Cause I germinate under LEDs and Cfls.

That's good that you trained them. The lower/secondary growth should also shoot up and become smallcolas!

Get a loupe....counting pretty much useless. Most breeders aren't on target w/ harvest times.

Takes at least 2-2.5 months.

Day 41 update

Late update today... Had to knock off a few chores on the "Honey-Do" list.

Not much news as this grow is not very spectacular in any way, shape or form...LOL!
Either way, we forge onward!

A good thing is that they are really starting to develop individual characteristics in the odor department!
All very welcomed!

I have also decided to pop another freebie seed since the tent is going and there is some spare light! may pop another one or two in as well, we will see!
The new arrival is a Great White Shark, non feminized so who knows what i will get!
I am using a 20L bucket this time with no added nutes, so i supply everything.
Hopefully it grows up to be a girl!

And some of the regular crew!
