We use a small 3 finger hand pick and from the bottom pull out as many roots as we can then 2 days of base nut and cannazym and its good to go..
I always have an air pump that mix my rez 's and the circulation pump is on a cycle time on for 5 min off for 15..

So to beat a dead horse, do you hand water those beds or put them on drippers?
I'm finding these coco beds interesting but am confused on how you guys deal with them.
Do you water to run off?
Seems like it would take a lot of water to saturate those things every watering?..

Aw hell that makes sense with an enzyme product. Sweet the coco stays in the trays. I knew a guy here a few years back and would remove the coco, screen, soak/rinse then re-use. That seemed like a lot of work.
Its been beat many of times..LOL..
Drain to waist each 20 light room gets 100 gallons of watering per room you can water every three days with beds but in flower we do 2 waterings per day in morning and evening each watering for 30 seconds. But if your lazy once a day works also.We water less in veg then flower. Aptus is given twice a week then 1 time a week Capulary tea brew and the other 4 days just Base nutes nothing else. Never flush until the end..Foliar with Canna BOOST 6 ml per gallon weekly week 1 -4.. Here is a pic of a rez and watering set up with PEPCO Octa bubblers..Attachments

I might have missed this, but where is there an online dealer in the US. I see a lot of SoCal stores, but none have it listed on their websites.
Rest assured. This shit is bomb in veg too. Im sure it could help ya shave some veg time off.
Jack: Did u follow the recommended dosage of 50g pr plant with the pellets? Mixed into the coco or dumped into planting holes?

Why do you have the avenger shades setup like that? The bulb seems as low as you can put it and the shades may be set at different widths?
I have the same shades and have had to use the superspreaders when plants grow too big with limited height. Have you tried these?
When do you strip the lower growth?
How much do you flush the canna coco? What about straight out of the bag?

shit the coco beds are almost worth a thread of their own lol..it seems genius for mass production, less transplants, no pots to clean or throw away, the roots can extend through each 4x4 section so less restriction and chance of rootbound...
crazy that are able to resuse it all as well without worry about getting root aphids or all the other crazy fucks that infest the root zone...what do you use to keep it clean run after run?

I hear that lol. Before I stopped growing indoors I was looking at changing to raised soil beds and do kind of like what Soma does and re-use most of the soil and just clean off the top a bit. I'm really liking how Jack has got it dialed in. Never thought of just using a strong dose of enzymes to dissolve any remaining roots instead of having them rot away.
If not im sure the stores that are selling it can ship not sure I can ask..
Its a new product so most stores do not have it on there web site yet...
What I did was I had gotten a large pale I will get the exact size today but I added it to the coco then just mixed it all up it can be top dressed also...one pale did 100 plants...
I use Adjusto Wings and they are all set at the same hieght and width 2 over each bed might just be the photo making them look different the light spreaders are bullshit and dont do anything..As far as lower growth we only strip a very small amount with the coco beds and 14 day veg and its always done a little at week 2 through week 3 .. If we let the plants get big we strip a little every day week 2 through 3..Straight out of the bag we just pre charge never flush with straight RO we pre charge at 550 ppm A&B and 100ppm cal mag.
Ya the best thing I have ever done was got rid of using pots no more throwing away all the coco and no more refilling hundereds of smart pots. Everything is kept super clean and sterile outside the grow room and inside as far as walls and floors go. We use all benaficials Capulary tea has everything in it to fight off and prevent problems. We do use nematodes every couple weeks for fungus knats with great sucess..And foliar with zone to prevent mold and othe bad stuff..And after pulling all the roots a full dose of cannazym and 500 ppm of veg base nutes..
