I'm a House and Garden guy (cocos base and additives). I read that you tried H&G base nutes in the beds and I was wandering how that turned out vs. Canna Coco base nutes?

That's awesome jack!!! Can't wait see that!! I will be trying H&G base with your Aptus schedule along with og biowar tea once a week. I probably won't get that started for another 3 weeks by the time I chop down my current grow. Clean and sterilize room to rid myself of bm's!!!! Then I'm setting up for drip feed coco, installing A/C and running co2. Looking forward to seeing how everything turns out!!
How long do the strains you run typically take to flower??
Sounds good you should do really great with that set up. As far as strains I have had every strain I grow tested from 50 days all the way to 75 and on every test 60 days with co2 was peak on every test, So just remember to start your flush with a very low ppm 250 ppm is a good start of just base then slowly taper down to just RO 1.5 to 2 weeks before you harvest..
Thanks jack. So on a 9 week strain I would start with 250ppm around the 7 1/2 week mark tapering down to just water by say week 8 then giving straight water for the last 5-6 days? That sound about right?
So are you saying your 50 and 75 day strains all do best flowering for 60 days? Do you use co2 for the entire flowering period or stop using co2 the last week or two? Thanks jack!!!
Its been covered a bunch but I start flower the day I flip so the day we flip to 12 on /12 off is day 1 flower.
Ya that what I do for flush and it comes out great. Im not saying that all strains do best at 60 days just every strain that I hav eever grown with the exception of maybe 1 that tested a point higher at 63 days but for the other 99% 60 days with co2 was where they tested higher for a year straight I had everything I grew tested at 50-55-60-65-70 days and 60 was best.I always turn off the co2 or just set it at 300 ppm the last 2 weeks.. I know you reuse your coco. But since I'll be starting with fresh coco each time do you recommend I pre charge with light nutes and calmag or should I just place new clones in coco and then water to run off with light nutes?
I hear h&g is high in calcium but lacking in mag so was thinking of adding a little Epsom salts to each feed?? Whatcha think?

Here is another question for you jack. Water temperature. My reservoir is nothing in size compared to your 2000 gallon reservoirs. But I'm already thinking if I fill my 55 gallon drum with 45-50 degree water that in 24 hours it may not be up to ideal temps which I believe is 60-70 degrees. Is temperature something you worry about? Should I be getting a aquarium. Heater? Thanks

If my water was 45 or 50 degrees I would for sure get an aquarium heater. I have one in my 55 gal drum it works great. I set it at 70

I use a 100 gallon rez for each room if my temps where that low I would get a heater..Here is another question for you jack. Water temperature. when I ran one of my cuts in rw it looked completely different to when grown in coco,I got more lateral growth than normal and denser buds

As far as Pre charge goes I like to start at 5.8 ph and 550 ppm 0.7 scale and see where the run off is at I like to shoot for 500 to 800 ppm run off and PH of 6.0. Just base and cal mag.Okie dokie. Thanks guys!!!

It would be pointless to do a side by side if they where not the same strain taken the same day from the same mom planted on the same day and given the same nutes the only difference is medium and amount of water/Nutes the rock wool will take. The Strain is White Fire #43

On another note I'm going all out on keeping pests out of my room so I've bought a foot sanitation mat so when I enter my lung room I can leave my "dirty" shoes on that mat and put my clean shoes on for the garden. Any suggestions for a fluid to put in the mat? Bleach and water? Is there something better? Also what do you do to make sure your workers aren't bringing in pests with there clothing?
I've added a bug zapping light to my lung room just in case any flying insects follow me into my lung room on my way in. I will be attempting to wear clean clothes everytime I go into my grow room. But if there is that odd time I have to go in with clothing I've already been wearing. Do you have any tricks or things you do for decontamination?
