Hi Magic, thanks, and yes I have seen that, that's what my very first one did, that's where all this came from. Though these days, when I'm doing a tri run, anything that starts out bifoliar, gets killed off before it gets a chance to "evolve" :) Anything that alternates tend to get smoked rather than bred with, though I think I'm going to make an exception with the quad on that one, just to have a look at the seeds. Though they wont go into the tri line breeding plan, just curiosity. I'm still looking for the next set of parents, there are 2 hopefulls in the current batch of newbies, pictured above.

This thing confuses me. I hope it doesn't revert, but from looking at it, I really don't think it will. Also, it still has been producing some bifoliar branches, but the very oldest branches are starting to get a few with 3 distinct leaves on each node. This plant has grown so incredibly slowly. I don't think I've ever had a veg plant go this slow. I think as it matures it may improve somewhat. In my cab at least, veg speed is irrelevant due to my perpetual setup. I can veg extra plants so I always have at least something ready to replace a harvested plant. Whatever strain is ready may go in, but if they veg slow, it just has to wait till next wave. It may keep it nice and short too for guerrilla growing, and with the trifoliate growth, it could be a great outside plant. I think that's where trifoliate is at it's best, when nature gives it a huge space and lots of light. I'm still going to flower her indoors though. She's C99(Shiva Skunk, Skunk#1, Northern Lights #5, and Haze) crossed with Blue Kiev, which has AK-47, Blueberry, Silver Haze, and Juicy Fruit in it's lineage. So slow grower or not, I want to smoke this!

Does anyone offer trifoliate beans that are legit anywhere? I might buy some off auction or whatever after I get my harvest.

Don't worry about bifoliar branches, most of my branches are bifoliar too.
Also, outdoor is the ideal place for any plant, indoor we just try to get as much as possible out of them, if plants numbers are important to you, then I'd say that tris deffo have a place in your cab, but if you prefer clones and sogs then I agree that there is no place for tris in your indoor garden, so its all up to the individual really.

Lol I like the caveat of legitimate. No I havent' seen anyone offer legitimate tris on the market yet. I know Growdoc said that he knows a group working on it. I know Verite said he had a seed line that was interesting in this respect. I heard of a guy Ricky, who was offering "illegitimate" tri seeds. But to be honest, unless you manage to get some from me, (which in the imediate future is not probable), then your best option is to get something blue from DJ Shorts, as so far everything that I've ever seen go tri, had blue in it somewhere in its ancestry. I've only ever sent out 3 packs of Tri's, the first guy I sent them to promised to do a grow thread on them, but then vanished from the site. The second guy I sent them to hasn't sprouted them yet, but will be doing very shortly. And the third guy I sent them to, I suspect, will have planted them this week.
I wanted to get them to the point that every seed that sprouts, produces a tri plant, however when you notice that most breeders state that to get a keeper from their seeds, you should buy more than one pack, I'm guessing most strains out there aren't perfectly stable. So perhaps I should just bite the bullet and get the F6 Generation out to seed bay and keep the parents in case they are popular. First things first though, I need to find the parents :).

Eh it's cool, I was just prospecting on them, I definitely have plenty of seeds to try still, and not enough veg space at the moment for as much as I want to be growing. Trifoliates aren't exactly a problem in my flowering setup, but they just shade too much for my veg setup. If I get some side lighting in the veg side too, that will improve things a bit. I wish I knew some magic way to make this plant grow faster though, I don't think it's gonna be ready for harvest time to replace one in the flowering side. Fortunately I have 3 Trainwreck X Colombian Golds that are full size and ready for flowering whenever there's a space.

Hi there,GMT,Magic hows things growing,GMT the sound of trifolate plants for sale on the boo or bay i think would be very popular IMO but WTF do i know, since i have come across mine it has turned into an intrest(my babies) and new strains that come up are always of intrest to most people and having something that grows outside of the box so to speak i think would generate more intrest and could spark a whole new aspect to the strains of mj never know could get us all closer to that holy grail strain,:abduct: please keep up all breading and give us a heads up on when they might hit the bay im sure i would be interested in getting some especialy if you have indica's as mine are sativa's and not what im wanting, still looking for that indica mother through my bagseed but most strains i seem to come across here in oz are sativa or at best sativa/indica but sativa dom. no big fat leaves here. I see your 3d thread is running hot i will have to get some glasses or make some 2morrow/payday:woohoo: stay safe all

Hi Magic, remember all that extra "shading" is really extra light capture capabilities.

Hi Shaun, I don't even know if I did release them, whether I'd release the pure line straight away. If I was going to commercialise my hobby, then the clever thing to do would be to do a series of crosses with them, rather than release the pure and then let others do the crosses. There again this was purely about interest rather than a commercial enterprise, for now I'm just having fun growing and breeding them. The 3d glasses are free, if you follow the links posted in that thread, just seems its too much trouble for peeps to get something free these days lol. I had a look at the Karma seed test thread, but they are all sativas, so I don't have any interest in them at all. If canacopia did a seed test, or HTC, or the OGA guys, or Core, then I'd be mildly interested. I was invited to join the FUCKEM movement, which gets and shares seeds freely, but I decided against it as I'm concentrating on this one project for the time being, and I figured it ran the risk of being considered part of an international criminal gang, and I can do without interpol on my arse lol.

Anyway, I spent (literally 20) a few seconds taking update snaps, I'll update every 5 days from now on, and every other update will include decent closeups, but not this one :)

Hi Magic, there's only one solution to your probs, fill the cab with all tri's lol.

Hi Shaun, Yeah I know what you mean, most breeders at the mo are concentrating on the sativa side, or sativa crosses. I've got a list of indicas that look interesting though:
Black Dom clearly, should be in every indica lovers stable. Then youve got the following to choose from:
TIKI SEEDBANK ₤32.42 Yarkoum
THSeeds ₤39.46 CHOCOLATE CHUNK
Nirvana ₤15.40 Afghani
Nirvana ₤15.40 Bubblicious
Canna BioGen ₤32.99 Sandstorm

I had a look to see what I'd use for crosses if I wanted to release these on seedbay, that's what I'd be looking to do the crosses with I think. Prices are from seedboutique in uk sterling, so add 50% for $US.

Most of the lines that I used aren't available anymore or I'd include them in the list for you too.

The Chocolate Chunk. Thread by Brother Monk has made this one of my most wanted strains for the future and i like most Afghani i am hoping for some of the M-I-S as freebies but there are some mixed reviews but as they state this is a landrace and is not stable or western stablised? ya know what i mean i have a mental block i want that kick you in the arse a put you back in your seat in total relaxation stuff sick of the sativa dom stuff to racey

Hi Shaun, I just searched all of Brother Monk's posts, but I could only find deep chunk, and bubba chunk, I dont think he's grown out the chocolate chunk yet. But for that melt into the furniture feeling, I can only say again that Black Domina is an essential one to try. It's certainly something that I mixed into the blend of these bruised nuts.

Hi Big D, thanks, I need to do a prune on the adults at some point, just want to leave as many energy collectors as I can on em for now.

My mistake i think it was the deep chunk i first saw the photos in the nominations for bud of the month a while ago,i'm glad you picked that up i was watching seedbay for the Chocolate chunk, the pics i remember were leaves just covered in thc, i will have to find it. The wife wants to get the Black Domina since she saw it grown on here i think it might have been core but not sure, i read that many threads and look at that many pics in the 15 or so hours a day im on here, computer never gets turned off and ic is always on, it might as well be my screensaver its on that much lol. Have a good day im off to checkout brother monk

Hi Shaun,
I don't want to come across as being repeatedly picky mate, but just to hammer one point home, don't mistake trich's for THC and don't mistake THC for CBD. Sativas will be higher in THC typically than indicas, and indicas will have higher CBD ratios than sativas. The number of trich's a plant has on it's leaves really has very little impact on how stoned or how high it will get you. Sparkly plants may well sell better, and certainly look nicer in pictures, and will improve "bag appeal", but something much sparcer may well get you to sleep much quicker, or may not. The Black Domina is no where near as sparkly as many other plants, but nothing knocked me out like it. It all depends on what you are looking for from a plant really. I think I remember Benji having some DC crosses available on seedbay, the chocolate chunk and the domina are both available from seedboutique. Both are Gypsy's seed sites, just one is the auction site and one the main shop with fixed prices. I wouldn't go for the pure DC myself, it typically seems to be a low producer. But saying that, so is the Black Domina and I do recommend that. I think they are both similar in value as the G13, which is mainly as a great parent plant for crosses. Though many will disagree with me on that.

Out of interest, I just noticed that Ton is running the Black Domina, he's heavily into flower with her now, but its about 3 pages from the end of the thread that the last pics are shown, so skip to the end and then pop back and have a look, here's the link

Sorry about the confusion with trichs and thc i have only slept about 5 hours in the last 3 days been having a few issues with my back again cant lay in bed for more than an hour that is why i want something to knock me out and with high cbd's for anti inflamitry properties, i think GHS at gypsy have white widow which they claim is 1.1 cbd's or the white rhino at 0.8 cbd's, white widow was one of my favs back in the late 90's but a close freind grew it for just over 5 years and i got sick of it or immune, The black Dom looks great also with trich covered leaves, i am a fisherman and there is an old saying lures catch more fisherman than fish or eye apeal is buy apeal and that is my problem i cant resist any buds that look like that and i have heard that the yeild is lower but if it knock you out you probably wouldnt smoke as much as far as bag apeal it doesnt concern me as i dont sell at all i dont even know a dealer anymore if i run out i try my grow freinds first but then its off to the local pub/bar for some shady deal. on another note i have come across 2 pairs of 3d glasses one pair is red and blue and the other is pink and green is there any difference in them before i go get them

Hi Shaun, on the trichs thing, I just wanted to make sure you were aware of the score, I know you are a med guy rather than a party kid, so just wanted to make sure you were looking for the right thing. I'd hate you to spend cash on something that wasn't right for you. Even worse spend 3 months growing something that wasn't right. You are right that you wont smoke as much of the dom in one go. There again switching to a diff indica will always make it feel more powerfull, tolerance build up is just one of those things, we all have to do the switcheroo now and then. I grew the Rhino, not the white rhino, but wasnt impressed with that really. I constantly check with guys who have access to the "elite" cuts, but I havent heard of any one that says theyve had stronger than a decent domina. I really think that would be the ideal for you.
The thread that Bly and I are running relies on the red/blue glasses, the difference between the glasses is based on the way that the images are prepared. Certain colours work better with different coloured lenses, we choose to use the red/blue for canna shots. That means the pink/green wont work. On images prepared with blue/yellow glasses in mind the red/blue glasses will also work. The best you tube 3d video is prepared that way. There's a link to it in the thread. I'm glad you are actually interested enough to grab a pair of glasses, it's got to the point that Bly and I are simply entertaining each other in there at the mo.

Quick pic update, not time for macros yet, but I did include a slight closeup, I thinned out the branches on both of the bigger girls, and repotted one of the youngens before it showed sex, as provided it behaves, it will be cloned and used as one of the parents for the next gen, if it doesn't clearly it will be killed or smoked.

Hi Shaun, thanks, that last one can be seen in the first pic, top left, so not so huge, just the pic taken a lot closer to it lol. Although saying that, the leaf shape is particularly wide, it's a nice pheno. If I get really lucky, I'll cross it to the one in the bottom right of the pic, but it's all upto the weed gods as to which will be what sex now.

Hi Magic, I've been trying to give you some rep on a couple of posts I saw over the course of the evening, but first I needed to spread it around more, then I exceeded my rep limit lol. They are now under a 400w hps, on 12/12 (lighting times are the aim rather than what they get, they tend to get more like 10/11/14/8/13/14/ ish lighting times). Technically I don't grow organic, these started life off in a very bad compost, the larger tri in the blue tub is entirely in bad compost (because I'm not potting that up again) and the big quadish is in 90% bad compost because I didn't get any good compost until recently. The babies have been re-potted into 1 type of good compost and will be repotted into another type of good compost later. (When I say good, I dont mean expensive, I mean suitable). These composts have added nutes by the manufacturer, and I suppose they will be chemically based, I did look at the organic compost available, but it said to wash your hands carefully after using, and I didn't like the sound off that, made it seem almost dangerous. I wont however be adding any form of food at any stage of the grow. All I add at any stage is tap water. Which again includes all sorts of chemicals added by the water company. So I can't claim to be organic, but then again I consider my grows to be more olympics than body building, nothing added to bulk up at all.
